  1. However the S tier CM unit has inferior build quality that lesser tier ones. 1200W is overkill for most. Only a hanful or professionals running multi gpu and multi cpu setups need something that large. An pro overclockers potentially. Nowdays you dont need 1200watts even if you run a 32 core TR 3970x. Build quality>>>multi rail to my book.
  2. Well, acording to tomsharware it is superior in every way compared to the CM one. So being 2 tiers below it seems odd to me
  3. Corsair AX 850 is superior to CM V plat 850 in every way. The newer Corsair AX 850/1000 could be at S tier as well. https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/corsair-ax850-psu,5986-6.html https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/cooler-master-v850-platinum-power-supply,6119.html
  4. Check various online reviews though. These units are competing with Dark power and seasonic prime, etc. In tems of pricing as well. (while a tad cheaper. they still not in the mid range price. However the same can be said for the ROG thor in terms of pricing ) They are by no means "mid range". They also used to be in the tier S equivalent in the old list ? (before it came to the LTT forums). The 650w or less units could reach the A+ status.
  5. what about the the 650w variants then? Sorry for not mentioning the rails, these were the ones i was talking about
  6. According various reviews sites (for example in soldering quality is above dark power pro 11 , another S tier, check the toms hardware reviews)
  7. However overall build quality rivals the prime and its head and shoulders above everything else in tier A. It is not a budget psu by any means , especially the platinum and titanium ones
  8. Again, Evga P2 G2 T2 and leadex up to 650w should be at least A tier...They were considered on par or even better than the primes not so long ago lol
  9. still , these should be at A+ at least. They are definitely not mid range. (and they are certainly above most of the psus( if not all) in this A tier as well). They were in the same tier with the seasonic primes less than a year ago lol.
  10. They seem to be having a sort of thermal protection however. And the features and overall build quality they have is definently not "mid range" . (for example soldering quality is on par or better with most S tier ones) They definently should be bumped to A+. Everything else in this list seems pretty solid though!
  11. EVGA P2 G2, Leadex gold and p at 650w and below should be at least A+. They are definitely better than pure power in about every way lol. In the first(the og one) they were in the same tier with seasonic primes...
  12. @LienusLateTips Leadex/evga should be S. These are definetly above some other A+ psus like the straight power 11 and Aerocool hmm
  13. Nop, you are. You said they lack protection which is definitely not the case. From your wording it looked to me like you meant that Ofc i know what they mean lol, just too bored to write them in full If you check here there are some cases the FSP platform is superior compared to the Superflower, as you said yourself. But in other cases the P2 pulls ahead. https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/evga-supernova-650-p2-power-supply,4364-3.html https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/be-quiet-dark-power-pro-11-850w-power-supply,4140-3.html The differences are too small to put them a tier apart i think. And it was in the top tier in the previous top listings as well (before they moved over to linus)
  14. Wrong. They OVP,UVP,OPP,OCP and SCP simmilar to any T1 psu. Most of them out on the market now have OTP as well (agreed with the older ones. in the site it doesnt state OTP, but its pretty much a standard feature now) So they have full protection. Dunno about loud, most G2/P2/T2 i heard were quiet enough. (with eco mode off as well)
