  1. Yes slow but is it very slow?. The difference between a 2400 vs 3200 can be noticeable but not significantly between 2666 n 2400. But the $ you pay is noticeable very much.
  2. 4.2 GHz :), Sorry I didn't take a snapshot that time. I have disabled XMP profile. I think 2400mhz is the max it can go. I didn't check.
  3. Get rid of all the Chrome Extensions. They eat up resources as well. 4 GB Ram is quite low for a browser like chrome. Just one tab and all other chrome process are extensions. (See attachment)
  4. Well, guys I Finally bought the system and here is the final configuration. CPU Name: Intel® Core™ i9-7940X CPU @ 3.10GHz Motherboard: MSI X299 TOMAHAWK AC (MS-7B05) Ram: 64 GB G Skill Rip Jaws, 16 x 4 Graphics: GALAX GeForce® GTX 1070 EXOC-SNPR WHITE Storage: Samsung Evo 850 250gb , 2TB x 2 Seagate Baracuda. Cooler: CM 240L RGB Case: CM h500p PSU: CM 650 Strom Trooper. Display: LG 27ud68p-b, 4k. UPS: Backup APC 1.5 Kva Note: I am not going to overclock at all. My system runs as along as I am awake whole day. Sometime render overnight. Sold my old system to a colleague. ~ 1000 USD i7 6700k, 32 gb HyperX furry Ram, MSI Z170A pro mobo, 24inch LG (2 years old) Haf 922 case, CM 350W SMPS, 1 tb HDD, 22inch AOC monitor and Geforce 550 TI.(11 years old) The performance is good but still to test the real-time scenarios. Here is some screen grab. Will update later a detailed review something. Attaching some pictures.
  5. Well, buy any peripheral with original GST bill, clearly mentioning the RAM part number and serial number. Fake or original, the bill is required for warranty. Unless you buy from roadside vendor. A bill ensures all in place.
  6. Yes, you are right. I use today a mix of single thread and few multithreaded apps, Overall for a freelancer do all kind of guy I need a fast all-rounder for both kind of scenarios. Single threaded performance is very important. Your overall productivity matters a lot. I do care for single thread performance. A sub $300 price difference is not a deal breaker. I love my i7 6700k its fast. But due to competition, I need to upgrade. 16 cores from AMD tempting, I remember the days when Intel had core duo, core 2 quad processors and AMD released AMD Phenom x II 1090T and 1100T. 6 true core they said, cheaper. I got one that year, 2010. The situation is same again, today.
  7. I found only one x399 board in asus India website, though the dealer has most of them, Are we due any upgrade. The dealer may have any version of the mobo. They will not confirm. I will have to order and the check physically the mobo version. Link: https://www.asus.com/in/Motherboards/Intel-platform-Products/ with filter, AMD platform and TR4 chipset
  8. I am also confused between 1950x and 7940x. My main workload will be 3d programs and yes adobe too. I am a freelancer. I want to consider 7940x for its performance on any software over 1950x, which is good for multi threaded applications. Whether saving money now will cost me money later.. moreover not many options on x399 mobos too.
  9. Can you check x399 only.. not mobo for all chipsets thanks.
  10. Why Asus have only 1 mobo on its website? Any major update coming? https://www.asus.com/in/Motherboards/AMD-platform-Products/
  11. 1. Cooler: I will go for Corsair hydro 115i, They are giving discount on Coolermaster 240ML. Thanks for the heads up on compatibility list. I confirmed the part is "MasterLiquid ML240L RGB Cooler MLW-D24M-A20PC-R1" 2. I dont need RGB at all. Going to turn it off. Better switch it to MSI? 3. MSI SLI plus is 430 USD tad cheaper the Aurous, May be will go for that. 4. I have Samsung 850 Evo 250gb for OS. That I will reuse in this build. 5. PSU: I will surely check the cables. I need braided cables but not many option in cooler-master or corsair in 750W with the dealer. Thanks Again
  12. TR 1950x is 1200 USD inclusive of taxes and 7900x is 1150 USD, 7940x is 1538 usd Here is the breakup usd (converted from INR) 1950x 1200 Aurous gaming 7 458 HDD 2tb x 2 140 Coolermaster 750w V750 144 Fractal design r6 TG 196 1070 GT Ti 669 Ram 64gb 873 Coolermaster 240L 111 3791
  13. Just had a chat with the technical guy of a country level distributor for PC parts. He says go for TR. He says all the initial problems with TR are over. I will list the suggested parts along with TR 1950x as soon I receive from them. TR price as of today is 1200 USD
  14. Thanks for the video. I never searched YouTube for heavy multi tasking scenarios for TR. Its opening my eyes. Actual working scenarios helps. Thanks mate again. Also not many mobo available for TR. only few to select. Also are initial hiccups gone for TR boards? Socket and memory?
