So every gigabyte motherboard that I have had has either stuffed my hard drive or my friends have said that they just become defective or won't boot. My uncle has had multiple problems with every gigabyte motherboard. I've bought a somewhat high end gigabyte motherboard because it looked pretty ? K but I just wanted to know. Does anyone else agree or have had problems. I had a b250 ASRock fatal1ty k4 and that was awesome. Uncle recommended it. Yeh anyways.
Also anyone else paired with an i5 8600k and a gtx 1060. Cos mine are in postage and I just can't wait. If you do, how does it handle games? I don't have internet right now so I can't watch YouTube

The reason I avoid it is because it feels like just a chat group for a specific group of members, it doesn't feel broad and general where everyone can jump in... Perhaps a refresh on the thread would be nice you know? close it and make a LGBT 2.0 and make it more orientated to personal experience, advises, life stories without it being just a chat/meme room where new people will feel left out because they don't follow it or don't have the same intimacy already.

I don't think that's a bad drop. Aslong as it isn't noticeable you know? I'd wait till something Hella crazy comes out in the future like zen 2 or Intel i11 ?. Even though it's just a 4th gen CPU. It's not like it's terrible. If you keep having this mindset, you'll forget that PC gaming is about having fun rather than feeling crap because you're 5 fps below your refresh rate. Try turning off the v-sync and see what kind of performance you're actually getting. But if you're using a 1080ti it will definitely bottleneck it due to its old technology, limited cache and inefficiency compared to say an i5 8600k. We were all impressed by the 7700k and that was everyone's dream processor. But now the i5 8600k basically beats it. Anyways if you really want the biggest and the best, go for it it's your money. But I'd say to wait and enjoy your game rather than be unimpressed from your performance

My experience has been that Gigabyte's Ryzen boards (at least the first-gen ones) are buggy as hell, with RAM compatibility nightmare and stability issues. Ever powered on your PC, gotten past the POST screen, then had literally nothing happen afterwards and you have to turn it off at the power supply to get the damn thing to reboot? Yeah, not fun. I've had the best luck with AsRock for Ryzen boards, and have nothing particularly bad to say about ASUS' AM4 boards either aside from their being overpriced more often than not.

Generally speaking, though, and this goes back to the late LGA 775 boards, I haven't had any particular issues with Gigabyte. The best motherboard I've ever owned was a Gigabyte Z97MX-Gaming 5. I miss that board, and the 4790K that lived on it, to this day. The build quality and feature sets on some of their low-end boards kinda suck, but compared to abominations like Biostar and ECS, they're perfectly fine.

I don't know about their entry/mid level stuff, but their high end boards are very well built.

Ram listed as supported doesn't work.
Didn't get fixxed in 4 BIOS Updates.
    Support was pretty bad too.
All Gigabyte tools ( Fan controll / LED control / BIOS flash) caused pc crashes.
Running ASUS board now without any issue

There are horror stories for every manufacturer. However, statistically, you can get the cheapest / less reputable motherboard manufacturer and the chances of it just working are overwhelmingly higher. There are other factors that tilt your esteem for a brand (customer support, how quickly they fix BIOS issues, longevity, design choices, etc., but when it comes to working straight out of the box it mostly boils down to bad luck.

HDD dies while plugged into 14 year old motherboard, so Gigabyte must suck.

They're temperamental from what I've read and recently discovered with my first board. Got it from a friend who claimed it died but a bit of wiggling some cables and lower quality RAM got it up and working, even allowing me to now use the higher powered RAM.
They're finicky and got some quirks

Asus and Gigabyte motherboards are great, Asus being better though.

Just don't buy a MSI motherboard and you'll be alright.

Mine works great, but then again I always buy mid to high end or high end stuff... not that Gigabyte's budget boards suck, just that combination of quality psu and quality cooling and taking care of computer well may also play a part.
