  1. The W3175X build is slowly coming together, got the aforementioned 3175X in the post yesterday, most of my water bits should be here tomorrow if DHL is to be believed and my coldzero trays/bits are in production now
  2. I had decent luck overclocking my 7980XE on air, was able to get 4.4 on an AK620 so this should handle pretty well I'd reckon
  3. Finally got my X299 micro 2 back off of my brother haha, decided to use it for now, keep the X299 dark for playing with and for benching with my other more badder 7980XE, got a nice OCUK binned 7980XE in this one, 4.8 1.3v, likely just stick to this until I get my W3175X for the SR3 haha
  4. Yeah as an ex prototype machinist, your early prototypes are always going to be super expensive, your later prototypes will be cheaper but still expensive and your late prototypes are when you get into engineering for manufacture and this is where your test runs for mass production begin, I recall a product I helped with having a starting prototype cost at 2000 of the kings finest beer tokens, by the time we were to late prototypes we were into the 250 range and mass produced parts were somewhere in the 85/unit range if memory serves
  5. Speaking of xeon dark, snagged this chonky lad for a good deal local
  6. just from some quick testing with a U12A, one is a bit so so, 4GHz 1.2v, one is alright, 4.2 1.17v and one seems to be pretty good with 4.4GHz with 1.2v, looking forward to seeing what this last one does under water
  7. Oh my, that's pretty, love the heatkiller blocks and all, really nice looking system that, with that said though I don't have to worry about rad space
  8. I think the mini 18 core box is a go :3 just gotta snag the case and buy my friends 7980XE when I get paid tomorrow
  9. More than likely, but then I kinda like the idea of shoving an 18 core into an matx box and doing my first ever hardline loop all told, recently did a build for a friend in a fractal pop mini and I was impressed by it all told so I kinda like the idea of a full on blackout build in just such a case with a few modifications Pic of the friends build for tax, pretty pleased with it considering it was a pretty budget machine all told
  10. I'm really hopeful for these yeah, time to remortgage the hoose lmao
  11. Yeah this is the really big fly in the ointment for me, I'd have liked to just do a proper hardware NVME raid, only way around that is just to use all intel drives, or source the vroc key which is easier said than done here
  12. Imported straight to the UK via amazon, was expensive, like 425 quid or something, well worth it though Yee at this point may as well lmao
  13. So I got a pretty solid deal on a 3090 FTW3, I also found a pair block and backplate on ebay for a decent price too, card arrived today, gotta say I'm impressed, this'll go lovely with the X299 dark, in the process of staying evga, I am considering maaaaaaybe going for an SR3 when I get my tax refund in April too
  14. Yeah I get that feel, I went from some ancient 600w coolermaster thing to my first 1600 G2, it was a massive change in capacity and size lmao
  15. So this was a fun one, wound up selling my evga 1600 G2 to a friend for £190, and snagged this beauty for £160, pretty pleased all told
  16. I've played around with a 7900X ES before, they're pretty much just not overclockable through and through unfortunately, they only work on some bioses too so you do have to be pretty picky about that too, all in all, decent as a backup but not a right lot else
  17. The dark is a rally good move if you can go that route, I recently got a dark myself and I love it, super solid, the OC robot is surprisingly accurate too, I ran it and it plopped my clocks about exactly where they were before on my previous board
  18. For tax and in an "if I have to suffer then so do you" kind of way, here's what the machine looks like lmao
