Yes, I had this issue, I run auto updates and never have any issues (in fact I never even notice it updates) anyway I got on yesterday and all of a sudden windows was trying to tell me it was no longer genuine, I couldn't run CMD in admin, the explorer.exe would lock up.  I simply restored to the 10-12 auto update restore point and everything has been perfect since.

AdBlock Plus. Pay per click - you won't get anything from me there any way, pay per impressions - I don't wan't something to mess with my subconsciousness, that just makes me more biased than I already am. But I really hate when ads slow down sites and distracts from content. And I understand that I am taking money away from site owner. If I'll want to support and the ads are not very intrusive then I'll turn ad block of for that site.

OK guys, enough is enough, the bullshit you just wrote is beyond reasoning, but it's ok, your resident lawyer ( student ) is here to set you straight !

    1. Every country on the world can be categorized multiple ways.

    2. As a type of governance every country can be: a Monarchy or a Republic, and that is by looking at the head of the state, so to conclude the US is as Republic since the country leader is not a king, emperor, sultan, etc...

    3. The other way you can look at it is: Unitary country and a Composed country, US is a composed country since it is a federal union of 50 states.

    4. And finally we come to the Political regime, and here we have : Democracies and Autocracies ( Oligarchy is a sub-category ) . US is a Democracy, and here is why: The head of your country is chosen by the people by votes, using indirect democracy.

This is the simple version of a huge topic, that is not really made to be discussed on a tech forum, Every country today can be a part of multiple categories, but every country has a primary group it fits in.
The reason the US is not a real oligarchy is because every adult citizen is allowed to vote, and you can vote for every adult that runs for a position of president.

This is fact, and it has nothing to do with political views, it is that simple, what you are mixing is a countries classification with the politics that people in charge are using.

The US is a Democracy bit it has other attributes, and the rule of a few powerful is also one of them.

Edit: ignore the last section i mistranslated this, was thinking about direct and indirect elections, modern "Western" countries do not use Direct Democracy, it is impossible because there are too may citizens in modern countries, and running a country would be very slow, beside other problems.
    >>Oh and before you start calling a system stupid @connorpiper,
do a bit of research, because not a lot of countries have Indirect Democracies and they work just fine without it<<

Just few days back changed HDD to SSD for brothers Dell Vostro 1500 and just for fun went with Win 10. I have to say it's damn good for everyday use with its Core2Duo 2GHz\4GB\8600m GT 256MB. considering it's something like 7 years old. I admin it's not very portable but as a desktop replacement that you can easily carry around house still good.

You'll most definitely be hired to program in only one language. How is someone supposed to become really good in a specific enviroment/IDE if they don't spend a lot of time practicing it?

Don't hate the programming language, hate the profession you chose.

TI/ARM/PIC Assembly, Objective C, C/C++, C#, Java, Phyton, ABAP, SQL and Basic all the way!

Its not so bad if you have a lot of different things you get to work on. Its only been pretty recent that I've been getting bored with Java. I have had the chance to work on online banking software, interfacing with cash dispensers, building a loyalty system that handles several thousand transactions an hour, forecasting software for estimating and alerting on when fuel tanks at gas stations are going to run out based on previous sales, and dealing with an api that does satellite communication with truck drivers in the past few years. Using one language across a lot of different types of projects is a bit less stressful than one project with lots of languages I've found.

It's still not "free" in the sense that Apple is subsidizing the cost of the OS via mostly hardware sales, plus potentially from their Mobile division as well.

And Linux is "free" for numerous reasons, including:

    1. Subsidized by Support Contracts. Actual support in Linux costs money. Sure you can get free forum support, but that's not exactly the best - especially for a company where downtime is lost money. Any major companies that use Linux - especially for web servers or other infrastructure - you can guarantee they pay for a support contract from Canonical, RedHat, etc.
    2. Industry support/donations - Many super large companies are part of the Linux Foundation, with collectively help fund development.
    3. User donations, and/or % of sales from things like app purchases.

There are likely other contributions as well.

So it's free to the end user, but in the case of Apple, that end user is more than likely paying for it in some other way.

Furthermore, just because there is no "licensing fee" does not mean that you can legally download OS X. This came up in another thread at some point. The Terms and Conditions/EULA for OS X explicitly prohibits just downloading the OS. I believe it says something along the lines that you must own pre-existing supported apple hardware before you're legally allowed to download OS X.

Apple turns a blind eye to this however, so it is DE FACTO free. Even though their employees will load it into a USB stick for you at the Apple Store, it's still a technicality.

Perhaps Apple should revise their EULA to reflect their current views on just giving OS X away though?

That OS X requires you to agree to a license that states that the OS is licensed to you, you did not purchase it, and that you have very few rights.

    H. Other Use Restrictions . The grants set forth in this License do not permit you to, and you agree not to, install, use or run the Apple Software on any non-Apple-branded computer, or to enable others to do so. Except as otherwise permitted by the terms of this License or otherwise licensed by Apple: (i) only one user may use the Apple Software at a time, and (ii) you may not make the Apple Software available over a network where it could be run or used by multiple computers at the same time. You may not rent, lease, lend, sell, redistribute or sublicense the Apple Software.   OS X is not free.
