To read the dump files yourself, you need a program like BlueScreenView.

Having looked at it myself, nvlddmkm.sys caused your crash, which basically means your GPU driver crapped its pants. Are your GPU drivers up to date?

I hate how impossible some brands are to try out. Fair enough I live in rural Denmark so fuck me in the ass raw - At least that's what brands tells you if you don't live in LA?

I would pay money to try a Aeron or other. Like straight up - If there was a store near me Id love to pay say 100 dollars to sit in some of the chairs.

It's been brought up on the forum multiple times. here is a response from the team, so they are open to it but it's not for the foreseeable future.

Edit: I also live in Denmark & yea shipping costs are pretty high, but I'm pretty happy with the stuff I got so far. if you live close to Odense, we could do an order together to reduce the shipping a bit. 😉

Use the Uninstall Tool you download separately. It gets "most" of it, but there are still some services left behind.

No, will just feel smoother perhaps. So I have a old 144 hz screen, but having over 200 FPS in some older games or whatever, can maybe feel smoother for some.

I dont have numbers for a 970 but I undervolted my 1070. It went from about 150W to 120W without loosing performance. Its not really a huge difference

Get yourself a Kill-a-Watt meter (or local equivalent) and see what your PC's actually drawing from the wall. (Then check other 'always on' devices.)

If you save 100 watts of peak load, that's only 1kWh of power saved for every 10 hours the PC's running.

Make sure you're following other power consumption best practices, like shutting down instead of leaving the PC running 24/7, turning off accessories like monitors and printers you're not using, making sure your windows aren't drafty... (On that note, I used to tape all the seams around my window sashes every winter before I had replacement windows installed. It made a difference. Air sealing the attic made an even bigger difference, but if you're a renter or you're in an apartment that's not going to be an option for you.)

That's saving about 1 kWh every 33.334 hours of peak PC run time.

Yes...and im regretting the buy really. Went with the acer vero laptop. Screen is so-so, battery life also average, can only uprade to max 12gb ram (I5 model with 2x 4 gb stick, 1 soldered), but worst is that I ended up having a critical flaw...Gut damn exhaust fan is on the top of the keyboard, so when I close the laptop lid it overheats when Im just watching content on it -,- Talking 95c in hwinfo, with easy 75 temperature fast.

Crazy Acer thinks this is a good design choice...Litterally cant use it with external monitor and lid closed then.

Oh well...I will call acer support on monday and see what they think, and maybe get my money back.

My old acer laptop has the exhaust on the side, which always cooled just fine, even 7 years later 🙂

Blah if the cooling was just better thought out I liked the laptop else...Not being able to upgrade to 16 gb is meeh through, but I think thats the case for all laptops in that price range in my country, none of them seem to have 16gb...Also the laptop does not have xmp profile, so I only get to have 2667 mhz speed, nothing in the bare bones bios or anything. But it runs very well, and when properly cooled it can also run quiet...Actually like it, sadly it seems only Acer also makes laptops with ethernet port, which is what I want. Maybe lenovo with thinkpad, but in my country thinkpad is costly and then I heard HP also sells laptops with rj 45 / ethernet port.

Thanks man. Thats kinda interesting, maybe very even. Oddly enough it seems they have many, or at least 2 of the same model. But I cant seem to find a local seller in my country from it either...I would HATE having to use Amazon...I dont like supporting him, to a point where I just steal The grand tour as well even through I like the 3 musketers 🙂

Edit: Maybe found a seller now locally, but it says this one is not rechargeable, needs AA batteries...odd 🙂 Thanks anyway looks awesome, loads of reviews on youtube.

If it's just a single slot and you want to swap out this RAM for a bigger stick then there's no real need to swap it out for an exact copy of Samsung RAM.
Any 3200 MHz DDR4 SODIMM will do.

Had the 305 for a while now. A bit heavy mouse, but works very well (Logitechs software is also fine), even from far away from the dongle, great tracking and seems like good enough build quality 🙂 Cheers.

Thanks. Sadly in my country they are a little to costly, but they do seem nice. Just to bad almost none of logitech mouse has free scroll 😞 its really awesome for browsing and some games.

Maybe the Logitech G305 Lightspeed? Abit cheaper, but still modern.

Asking an OLED to last 10 years without any amount of "burn-in" is a stretch.
Even if you only use it 6 hours 'on average' a day, thats about 22,000 hours of use at the 10 year mark. And pixel degradation is cumulative, its builds up.

With constant use on the same channel like CNN, it takes roughly 1600 hours for the most minor barely noticeable signs of "burn-in" to occur, it doesnt become significantly noticeable until about 2300 hours of the same content.

Now with mixed TV content you looking at around 7000 hours before the most minor uniformity issues 'can' start to appear, but they dont become somewhat significantly noticeable until close to 10,000 hours. Mixed usage wont result in sharp clear burn in patterns but will result in broad uniformity issues, like being slightly darker in the center of the screen where most TV presenters are framed.

But as u can see 10,000 hours of mixed usage as a TV is still only half that of the 20,000+ hours ull likely put on it over 10 years, and thats without the cumulative use on a PC/Console with its static images which will lean towards causing uniformity issues around the edge of the display where UI's usually are.

As such, for a 10 year target usage plan, i cant advise you get an OLED.

Now for a more reasonable 4-6 year plan, if u average 6 hours a day, sure go for it, just take steps to avoid where possible any static images being displayed in the same place (move your windows around, animate ur desktop, hide your task bar, adjust your game UI's etc)

Djuntas reacted to Stahlmann in Should I actually buy a LG A1 Oled TV?
As long as you don't use it as a main monitor or watch the same TV channel 8 hours each day, burn-in is not likely to be an issue. As the A1 uses the same panel as the higher end C1 etc. (afaik) but at a lower brightness, i'd even say it's likely more resistant to burn-in as the higher-end devices.

If you have the option to get a 800€ OLED, even if it's only the 60Hz model, then by all means go for it. Don't let burn-in scare you off such an amazing display for the price.

I have the B9, bought towards the end of 2019. Especially in the last year or so I've been using it a LOT every day. Mixed use of watching video and gaming. No sign of burn in so far.

    Yes. They are great.

They do burn in if used like a monitor but not an issue if they are used as a TV.

I have two 2019 B9s and one was used as a monitor and the other as a TV(movies & gaming).
The one used as a monitor burn in at about 4900 hours. It now has 6383 hours and it is still not noticeable playing a movie.
The one used as a TV only has 2100 hours since it is turned off when not in use unlike the one used as a monitor. Its screen is still perfect.

I will buy OLEDs again in the future.
