  1. Please don't judge me I wanted to have as much comments as possible to make the decision. As for the rest, I do know that the TAKSTAR are very good, but have you ever tried an expensive headphone and went "wow, that is so clear and detailed"? That's what I'm kind of asking about the TAKSTAR VS DT990 thing. I've found the Hi2050's for 38 USD with shipping, but are the DT990 enough hi end to go "wow" after the takstar's to justify the price? I've also found a number of gentleman on the web who have tried or own both of the headsets, I'm going to ask them for an advice too.
  2. Hello guys! I'm really desperate at this point. I've been doing alot of research and wanted to get the BD DT990 Pro 250 ohm till I saw TAKSTAR HI2050 and how amazingly regarded it is (and about 4 times cheaper than the BD). Then I saw the Philips SHP9500 on Massdrop, how cheap they are, how many people buy them and how many good reviews it has (none on youtube though). What I want is audiophile grade sound quality (was amazed with the clarity at of AD700's at friend's house). I'm ready to pay the price as long as it's worth it, but the thing is I'm unsure of is if the DT990 are that much better than the TAKSTAR, because otherwise it's just a waste of money (?) So basically: 1) BD DT990 Pro 250 2) TAKSTAR HI2050 3) Philips SHP9500 Will it be worth spending the extra for the DT990? BTW I'll be getting a SMSL SD793II anyway so the resistance of the headphones is not a problem at all.

  4. Oh ok I'll consider that when purchasing the hardware! thanks for the whole help guys! I think I'm set here
  5. The budget doesn't matter because these are the CPU's that are in it, so I wanted to know what would be better... Plus we already have a nice case, a power supply and other things, and a nice NUC costs here almost as much as a built HTPC. So anyway, for the casually surfing the web both of the CPU's (AMD and Intel) would be good, but the AMD has the advantage of powerful graphics for games?
  6. Thanks for the help guys! I wont be getting a dedicated GPU (I want to keep it as quiet as I can plus the case has those low profile expansion slots, so only the "built in grade" GPUs fit there)... It's just strange that on some websites the Intel one shows better results, like this site: http://www.cpu-world.com/Compare/234/AMD_A6-Series_A6-5400K_vs_Intel_Pentium_Dual-Core_G3220.html Can you guys explain why so? if the AMD APU should in theory be much more powerful?
  7. Hello everybody! I'm not an active member of the forum, but I still was hoping some of you could help me to chose a CPU. So here's the deal - we have an HTPC in our living room and it's components are dying so I decided it's best to buy a new platform (MOBO+CPU+RAM). The thing is I cant decide between these two, there are also a couple more contenders from the red team like the AMD A4-4000 (a bit cheaper) and AMD A6-6400K (a bit more expensive). What CPU/APU from the above would be the best for an HTPC that will be running a 1080p screen and preferably could play games? What are the pros and cons of the processors when compared to each other? Many thanks in advance!!!
  8. My favorite thing is the build quality compared to the old G2, it's good to see a company that listens to it's customer complaints and solves them.
  9. Probably unfair as I barely even participate in the forum... But my favorite thing is probably the boom speaker, unlike the metal construction which I would probably "ruin" with a case, the speaker is just AWSUM.
  10. I have a 360 slim which I bought when I had a crappy PC and because 2 my good friends got it, but I never really bought too much games for it, some exclusives like Forza 4, Halo Reach, L.A. Noire (which isn't anymore XD) and Red Dead Redemption, also got Metro 2033 for like 9 bucks.... I don't really spend that much time playing on it to justify paying for XBL Gold and the fact that it doesnt support my G27 wheel makes me sad about not getting the PS3
  11. Actually, there is a legit reason to buy a X1 and that is - Forza 5 (or any other great exclusive title), after all, it what makes the consoles worth buying.

  13. If I didn't have a good membrane keyboard with full back lit (Microsoft Sidewinder X4), I'd probably throw 160$ on a mechanical one....
  14. Hello everyone and welcome to my first thread on the happy adventure land of LinusTechTips! This is my first REAL gaming PC (my other computers had office grade hardware, the last one had a passive cooled 8400GS on which I ghetto mounted a fan and done max possible overclock). I really like modding and painting stuff (also painted my last 8400GS powered PC in nvidia scheme), so I decided to make my new rig look unique, and since I'm a HUGE fan of the Mass Effect series, I went with it's theme... Specs: -CPU: Intel Core i5 3570K -CPU cooler: Scythe Mugen 3 Rev B -MOBO: MSI Z77A-G45 -Case: Lancool PC-K59B -PSU: Seasonic 620W Active PFC 80+ -RAM: Kingston Hyper-X Blue 4GB X2 -SSD: Crucial M4 128GB- -HDD: Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB (SATA 2) -GPU: Gigabyte GTX670 2GB (Windforce X3) -DVD: Sony NEC DVDRW X24 The original character (Mass Effect 2) The original character (Mass Effect 3) Starting the "paint & cut" process Printed a N7 logo, at least I don't have to draw that... The original color of the case Painting - coat 1 Painting - coat 2 Painting - coat 3 Some white stripes Bought a silver spray can for the logo, could have used white :\ The final result Also, I didn't build the computer myself, because in my country (very small one, Israel) we have a company called TMS, which has one of the best pricing for PC hardware in the country (Which also includes free UPS same day delivery everywhere in the country for everything! no shop I know has that) and does amazing cable management, stress testing and CPU overclock (with guarantee) and all of this - FOR FREE! And a very thoughtful touch from them is this Passport, which tells everything my rig went through... So I thought to my self and said: "Hey, if it's free and great, then why should I bother doing it all myself? especially if something goes wrong with the computer, they take it by UPS, fix, and deliver back the same way :)" Thanks for checking out on my gaming rig and I would like to thank Linus and his crew for all of those computer hardware educating years and inspiration for becoming an enthusiast myself! And I will definitely continue watching Linus's content no matter what :D
