Try disabling the XMP, it could be failing to apply the overclock to it, the CPU is set to auto in all of the overclocking options?

You can see the current BIOS version on the main panel when you enter into the UEFI. The latest BIOS can be downloaded from the Asus website.

Ronanwar got a reaction from Spev in First Gaming Rig. Thoughts?
This build is mainly for gaming and I think I got it pretty well on this one but just to be sure, tell me what you guys think and IF I should change anything. Take a look! I will also be including a PCPartPicker URL.

I'm using parts from my old system on this new one. I will be using an SSD, Windows 8.1, and another HDD.

    http://pcpartpicker.com/p/QVCM6h

    CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor

    CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i

Motherboard: Asus MAXIMUS VII HERO ATX LGA1150 Motherboard (I will probably do some overclocking on the CPU. That is why I chose this Motherboard! And the fact that it looks AWESOME!)

    Memory: Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-2133 Memory

Storage: Like I said, I have a Samsung 840 EVO 250 GB SSD and 2 TB drives.

Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 980 4GB WINDFORCE Video Card (I was gonna get 2 970's but I will probably upgrade to SLI in the future.)

Case: Corsair 780T ATX Full Tower Case (I will not be doing water cooling in the future and was told this case was great at air flow.)

PSU: SeaSonic 760W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply (I went a little overkill here but I will most likely be doing upgrades in the future!)

Other Stuff: NZXT Hue Led Controller

I already have keyboards, mouse, etc... From old system.

Anything you think I should improve? I have already started ordering my items. I think this build is great so far.

    [EDIT]  I forgot monitors!!!! I will be running 3 1080p monitors as I already have 2. I cannot afford a 4k monitor!

also try hitting up josh at wwjoshdew.  he is a wizard with android and he is really good at replying back if you have questions.  Note sure how applicable the following video is still today, but you could check with Josh to ask any questions.

If you've not heard of Josh before he is the non-official spokesperson for titanium backup pro.  *the play store for titanium shows Josh's 1 hr long youtube video detailing how to use titanium backup.

I wouldn't use an auto root program, this video is more reliable

also if you don't trip knox, you can't install AOSP based ROMs such as Cyanogen, Omni, etc.
You can only install Samsung TouchWiz based ROMs

No, your card is fine just set the overclock back to stock. Also look around for some guides for GPU overclocking and follow them.
