  1. Seems good. Have you had it yourself?
  2. I'm looking to buy a new 4k monitor. My budget is about $350 (I know it's a low budget). I don't care much about speed, since I'm not playing online games that much. What I care about is mostly the colors and visuals. I play mostly single player games at 60 fps or lower. I have a PC and a ps4 pro which I'm buying this monitor to play with those. Currently I have a 1080p ASUS monitor and I'm satisfied with it (I generally have low expectation). The colors on that monitor are a little off but I got used to it. I don't care much about HDR. If its there its an added bonus for me. I might use it or I might not. (I kinda doubt if I get a good HDR with this price). You guys can give me multiple options to look for. I will probably buy it next month so hopefully I get lucky and can buy it on a sale or something. Let me know if you need any more info. Thanks in advance.
  3. Hello! my friends. been a lurker here for a while and finally need your help!

A year ago today i bought my first computer. i didnt build one cuz i wasnt really into it back then and only needed something to game/edit videos on a "budget" so i bought myself an Hp omen 188 110. Since then i have only upgraded RAM and a GPU. the specs are currently; GTX 1070 8gb, i5 8600k, 32gb RAM, HP motherboard, HP Power supply and 250 gb SSD with 1tb HDD

i NEED a better CPU to edit my 4K footage, i got a camera some time ago and its showing. i have upgraded RAM and already Use proxies with my SDD not even half full. i was thinking of upgrading to an i9 900k cuz i know the socket is the same (LG1511) BUT since i dont really know how old my build is since its a pre-built i can only imagine the motherboard isnt more than 2 years old? right?

i have no idea if it will support the I9, and when i googled the release date of the i9, everything was different and didnt really matter.

im asking the pros here, plz help, if there is any other CPUs that will fit my board or finding out if my board will take the CPU

  4. After working on it for hours I finally got it working. Everything works fine except for Rams, I should have 16gb but it only shows 8. There were 4 slots on the mobo, From left to right I put them on first and second. Does it matter where I put them? What could be wrong?
  5. Thanks. They are on the way. I let you know if I ran into any problem.
  6. I think I will do the same. I kinda don't trust third party apps. Just have to create some space.
  7. Should I do a clean Windows install afterward? Does it do that automatically?
  8. As for ram I ordered these two: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01IW7Z66U/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A2Y8CGQ5110ZKT&psc=1&tag=linus21-20 One more question. Are all motherboards the same size. Will I have a problem with mounts and screwing?
  9. Thanks but was hoping for something that support sli since I have a gtx 1070. Was thinking maybe in the future I buy another and pair them.
  10. The cpu that you said seems to perform better. Does the 2 extra cores matter that much? Those motherboards you mentioned are too pricey for me. Anything cheaper?
  11. I was just thinking, Is it possible to get a motherboard that supports SLI and also supports that ryzen 7 2700x?
  12. Good points. I'm only buying these for gaming. Do you think I should buy the 2600X? I was thinking I should get 2700X since we are going to the next gen and the future games might need more cpu power. Is 8 cores really necessary?
  13. I have 2x4gb and they are ddr3. As for the 2600x the difference is 40-50 bucks. I want something to last me for 4-5 years.
