Don't do this. This is sexual assault. If you want to know if she likes you ask. It is easy. Use words.

Here's the thing - that might have worked in 1997.

But in 2018, with consent as such a hot topic? This is a bad idea. She might be a girl who likes that kind of spontaneous romance. Or she might feel violated because she didn't consent to him kissing her.

Yes there are definitely "unspoken moments" in romance where the body language and the situation demand that one kiss the other without asking for consent - this is implied consent. Still "grey" in some circles, but largely accepted by society still.

But just going up and unexpectedly kissing her could actually leave him in legal trouble.

    I beg your pardon?

Any ways the worse thing that could happen is that she says no and you just move on which is about the same result as never asking her out... sure anxiety and what not is present and the feeling of being reject isn't pleasing but it hardly is going to haunt you longer than the day you do it.

There is such a thing as spreading yourself to thin. Imagine, if you will, that in order to start some consumer oriented business, LMG has to invest a very significant portion of their revenue for say two to three years before the new business becomes profit positive.

Imagine that the new business never becomes profit positive, what happens to LMG? At the very least, production of videos stagnates and becomes second to trying to salvage the new business. Which doubly hurts them because that loses them advertiser money. At the worst, LMG itself goes completely under because of a failed investment.

Additionally, if everything works perfectly and the new manufacturing/consumer business takes off and is successful, Linus has to put that before the channel. Running a consumer or manufacturing business is much more labor and management intensive than you think it is. It is also very different. Do you think his investors (and there would certainly have to be investors) would tolerate him putting that business to the side so he can make some Youtube videos? Something as simple as a convenience store takes a surprising amount of labor and politics to function properly, what you're suggesting is much more complicated than you're thinking it is.

In the real world there is alot more that goes into running a business than there is running a single man contracting service.

Every once in a while a troll thread like this pops up and it's always very entertaining. So thanks @Kamjam21xx for that, it's been funny to read.

LMG has gone from being filmed in a garage (what...5 years ago?) to being IMHO the largest (most definitely in terms of resources) tech youtube channel that isn't run by an actual brand and by far the most professional. With the alpha of FP and the additional personnel and facilities that they've acquired in the space of a few years...I'd say they're already expanding, they're certainly not standing still.

I don't know if this thread was to rile people up with your somewhat simplified approach to business, but if it was. It worked.

To conclude, LMG has always been and is constantly expanding. And to ask why they don't just branch out into another field (concrete manufacturing...really?) because they have "all teh monies" is rather silly. There's a huge reason why there are very few companies who have their hands in so many pies, and that not everyone does it. It's a HYUUUGE risk. And if you're asking if Linus will take an uncalculated risk with everything he's built up and put the livelihoods of his employees (who also count as family to him)...then your answer will be no.

LMG is a company that has been growing steadily, and recently "branched out" to Floatplane.

You are here asking why people don't like economic growth and why LMG doesn't expand.

Basically, you are asking why dogs don't have four legs.

Unless your definition of "expanding" is doing things that truly don't make sense or have any form of synergy with what you are currently doing. Yes, sure, Linus could open up a plumbing service firm, but so could I, there's nothing he in particular will contribute by doing so. Instead, he's doing the sensible thing, growing and expanding in the sector he knows and he can add value to.

Basically, we have someone with businessman aspirations that may or may not pan out giving questionable advice to a proven self-made man and business manager...
