  1. My wife and I just signed the purchase agreement on 1.6ac to build a house on.
  2. On the contrary, I dont think most people in the market for a T7 or SP7 if HK ever actually decides to sell that, are afraid of the NFA process. So it's just fill out the F1 on your T7/SP7 pistol to convert it to an SBR, then buy your preferred stock, even the HK one. https://hkparts.net/all-parts/h-k-hk-mp7-retractable-stock/ I have the same opinion on the HK SP5, I picked one up just the other week and will be filing an F1 on that very shortly.
  3. I'm not so sure. Seems to me that they're trying to take a PDW and form it into a rifle. The PS90 is (in my opinion) not worth owning in a non-NFA configuration, so spending more money to bastardize it farther is a fools errand. As for the MP7 vs P90; its interesting how FN and HK approached the contract criteria differently. Personally I do think the MP7 is a better solution than the P90, but really not because of any of the reasons you've listed. I see the magazine configuration on the P90 to be a significant advantage compared to the MP7, as even with a full 50 round magazine the weapon is considerably more space efficient (portable, concealable etc) than the MP7. Sure being a bullpup means the trigger will suffer when compared to other designs, and I have a general distaste for blowback firearms in general, but the P90 (in true 10.4" config) is a pretty capable PDW. The advantage of the MP7 in my opinion basically comes down to an actual rotating bolt which makes it much cleaner and runs a lot better suppressed than blowback, and the piston system (again I have an admitted distaste for blowback fire arms). That said, If I can actually get my hands on a Tommy built T7 for $3500, I'll be a buyer. The only question becomes whether I do it before or after an SP5-K PDW.
  4. Interesting that you say this, can you expound on why it's more practical than a PS90 (at least in the true 10.4" format)? Or are you just trying to avoid NFA items? I understand people trying to avoid NFA items, at least on some level.
  5. Similarly, this is happening: https://tommybuilttactical.com/t7-pistol?___SID=S
  6. I thought the trailer was pretty awesome. I especially liked the Tom Petty sound track. I've bought every GTA at launch since GTA 3, I expect this will not end my streak.
  7. I'm about 96h in at level 52 right now and really enjoying it. I've been doing about every side quest/faction quest I can before finishing up the main story line, and I still don't feel like I'm nearing the end. The ship building has been a ton of fun, but a bit clunky. I do have some troubles getting the components to connect where I want them to and tend to get ladders in places where I don't want them. Then again maybe I just suck at it. It's also worth noting that I'm playing on a 32:9 monitor and the ship building and planet maps were not designed to use that aspect ratio, my selection point and curser are offset by probably six inches, so selecting specific things is a challenge. When I drop it down to 16:9 like a normal person, the problem goes away, but I like the added width, so I struggle through it. I also get annoyed by the vendors having such a low amount of credits, I get that they wanted to slow down payer progression, but sitting and waiting for 48h to sell one last case of human organs gets a bit old.
  8. I shot a Steel Challenge match this weekend. I'm pretty happy with my performance considering I haven't shot a steel challenge match in a few years; ended up 4th of 37 centerfire pistol shooters. Because Steel Challenge doesnt have a limited optics div, I shot my Staccato P with RMR in open, still ended a high B class even in open, which was cool. The real fun though was bringing out my cop buddy who's never shot a match of any type before, he is pretty down to earth but still was pretty humbled but didnt get DQ'd. He had a good time and want to do the next one, so I'm counting that as a victory.
  9. Have you ever done any occluded dot practice/training? Your first paragraph is almost text book symptoms of people who are looking at the dot, not the target. Lots of people do this without even realizing that they're doing it, especially those who have lots of practice being front sight focused. It sounds really dumb, but if you put a bit of masking tape over the objective lens of your optic, look at a target, then bring the gun up. if you cannot see the target, you're focusing on the dot, not he target. I know a few guys who have gone as far as to shoot matches with their dots taped over. Something like this: I know that I had some dot focus issues when I first tried it and I thought for sure I was target focused. I still do occluded dot dry practice every now and then, and it certainly helps.
  10. Again? Have you carried one before? I've carried my G19.4 W/RMR every day for the last ~12 Years, and competed with Glocks and 2011s with RMRs for ~10 years without a single issue caused by the open emitter design. I personally believe that 99.9999% of the complaints about open emitter optics on pistols are internet lore that isn't based in reality. Can something happen, sure but virtually 100% of the time it's the same remedial action than something blocking your iron sights or closed emitter optic; shake/brush it off. I am probably an outlier, but I've actually had more failures of pistol iron sights than pistol mounted optics.
  11. I have about 16h into it now, and am at level 14; I'm very satisfied with it so far. It's not perfect, and I wish they had done better with the opening sequence, but no biggy. I'm very much so enjoying the game thus far. I feel like I've barely scratched the surface at this point. I've had one crash so far, and noticed that it does not support 32:9 (an outlier, I know) aspect ratio, so I'm playing at 3440x1440 with black bars. Minor annoyance.
  12. I have to admit, the more information that comes out, the more excited I'm getting for Starfield. The Ship and base customization looks awesome.
  13. I've gone through a few iterations of light switch setups over the years. I started with the Modlite with a Surefire DS00 tailcap, and the Surefire SR07 pressure pad pictured above, but was never wild about the SR07 mounting. Then I started hearing and seeing people modifying the SR07 to fit into a Cloud Defensive mount for the Streamlight switches, so I went that route for a few years. This was solid, but the Surefire pressure pads were known to reduce the output of the modlites. I was willing to take that small hit for the pressure pad, until Unity came out with the modbutton and mod button lite, then I picked up a couple of the modbutton lites and havent looked back since. Not the cheapest light setup, but it's been rock solid on both my rifles. At some point I would love to try out one of the Cloud Defensive REIN 3.0s, but I havent bitten that bullet just yet.
  14. You shouldnt have any problems with that setup. Before I got on the "Suppress all rifles all the time" bandwagon, I used a very similar setup but with comps. With a flash hider you should have no problems at all. Here's my pre-suppressor setup:
  15. I'm fairly excited, but wont pre-order. I will be paying attention to the release reviews to see if I should jump in right away, or give it a few months.
  16. My experience with the MRO is similar. I replaced it with an Aimpoint T2 about a year ago, the MRO has been chilling in the safe ever since. I'm sure eventually it'll end up on a range toy or something that I'm not expecting to make any shots at any real distance. I generally made it work with the MRO, but the parallax issues made it more difficult than it needed to be.
  17. Tough one. I used to be pretty hard set in the red dot camp, but I recently got into a few two gun matches, one of which I used my "SHTF" SBR with a dot (pictured with an MRO, but now sports an Aimpoint T2) and although you certainly can get hits at distance (our two gun matches only go out to 200y) with a dot, I'm personally quite a bit faster with a bit of magnification. Conversely I have also used my "back up SHTF" rifle, which is a 16" with a 1-10 on it, and that's a better solution for competition, but a bit of a heavy rifle. Now I'm really thinking hard about adding a magnifier behind my T2. The LVPO gets a bit heavy and no matter how great the eye-box is, it's not the same as a red dot.
  18. I have not seen the movie, without any spoilers can you expound on this a bit? Genuinely curious.
  19. Here's my current home setup. All the wiring is Cat 6. At some point I would like to upgrade to a switch with 10G capabilities, but this is where it stands now.
  20. Picked up a Tripplite UPS for my server and networking equipment. Uptime matters.
  21. On the FFL/SOT side, surprise inspections are a real thing. Just not for end users. I have no idea how common they are though. I actually fully understand why an FFL wouldn't want to get into NFA goods given all the headache and long storage times.
  22. I think you've fallen to some NFA misconceptions here: Registry: yes this is a thing and sucks but IMHO if you don't think there's already a registry based on the 4473... I have bad news for you. Storage: There are no federal storage requirements on NFA items. Your state or locality may have something, but there are no restrictions within the NFA on storage. You would be smart to have a decent safe, but that's not a requirement. Transport: I assume you're talking about the 5320.20; which only pertains to interstate travel. I live ~3mi from a state boarder, you can fill that out once a year (for SBRs, Suppressors do not need this) and submit it. Or don't fill it out and go about your marry way; I'm not a cop. At the last two gun match I competed in there was ~4-5 SBRs and x2 suppressors. I competed with my suppressed SBR, no papers were ever checked. The ATF showing up: common misconception, you do not forfeit your 4th amendment when you purchase an NFA item, they cannot simply show up and force an inspection of the NFA items. I'm not sure where this idea comes from, I've heard it a bunch of times, it's simply not true.
  23. Probably not what you want to hear but... Buy a can. Sure you can use the blast diverters and whatnot that help a bit, but they offer such a small change when compared to an actual suppressor that IMHO, they arent worth it. Yes, the $200 stamp sucks, and the wait time sucks even more. However the more real suppressors that are out there, the easier it is to argue "common use" in court, and get the NFA tossed as in conflict with the 2A.
