    He is running on a budget so a mining rx 580 isnt really the best choice.

    If you get a cx550 (2017) PSU from Corsair you can probably spring for an ~80$ R9 290x.

    If your vudget allows i would get a new PSU and the hd 7970 if possible. You get more for your money

    Welcome. I strongly suggest Thinkpad as business laptop usually lasts longer. Read reviews from Notebookcheck first before buying so that you know the pros and cons of a specific model.

    710S Plus has really mediocre battery, moreover the CPU is outdated. Cannot recommend.

    Sure thing. As a college freshman I generally see a lot of peers with either macbook pro 13, XPS 13, or Spectre 13. A couple a others are sprinkled in there like Microsoft surface and gaming laptops but those are the top 3. My advice is wait for a good deal but don't wait too long. By June for example I doubt Dell will be selling any 9360s directly.
