A couple minutes ago, i was just staring at the viewcount on the psu tier list and just thinking... how the hell... even if Lienuslatetips, STRMfrmXMN and Aniallation (with all the people connected to it, but these being the "main" editors) laid a great foundation and reputation to start off, it just seems incredible how succesful it is. in almost 3 months I have

  • 2.3x the view count to 1.0
  • 0.3x the view count of 2.0
  • 2.0x the view count of 2.1
  • 0.8x the view count of 3.0

It's been featured in 2 LTT videos, 1 livestream, pinned in the PCMR discord, daily used in big groups like LTT Official, BAPC, PCMR, this forum (i get notifications of the latter every day, sometimes just secretly taking a look) and many others. people start to recognise me, compliment, ask questions and I've even had a company give me a PSU to try out (the Seasonic Focus GX-650 I'm currently using). even some who disliked earlier lists for various reasons now are more than happy to use it, which i mainly saw when first joining BAPC.

I want to thank everyone. The writers: Luna, Stefan, Dattestbench, Aden and PSUGuru, all the people that went on to answer people's questions while I was asleep, the moderators to watch over it, the many people that gave some wonderful feedback, leading me to add links, sources, more psus and of course many more are welcome for the future. But of course, last but not least, all the 304.607 (at the time of writing) viewers that came on and gave it a watch.

It's been bringing some stress for me, especially in the early stages, but with the positive feedback and the help from some amazing friends I keep getting, it feels like I did it for something.

Please don't see this as a brag, a flex, a lecture or just a cliche speech, because that's totally not how i mean it. I just wanted to take my moment, and thank everyone.

now let's beat 2.0 in less than a year ?

Well, you had done the work & collaboration done extremely well. i think it should be obvious that you deserve that rep. everybody in the past did two or three threads with little followup.  whereas you hammered it even more to a wider range with version based tier list. i think that was kinda innovative & different from those last set of PSU tier list topics.

I've only experienced (I believe...) 2.1 and 3.0. And of course now the new one, and its growing pain iterations.

I can tell you right now the layout, the info in the drop down menus, etc., are all very nice features that I think stand above the previous versions. And I hope that doesn't make any of the previous contributors feel bad. Forum post format is always a giant pain in the ass to make look nice.

Figured you might get a kick out of this, but the prebuilt Dell XPS 730X I pulled from the trash has an enormous 1000w power supply. Think it's any good?

and i mean... no offense to mortis... but the forum handles bbcode very poorly, making some stuff a bit harder to copy over and such

you'd have to send me some more info @kelvinhall05, dell generally uses like... 3 different oems

@kelvinhall05 didn't list oem or anything... but it seems like you pulled it out of an XPS?

though they seem to have used it onto the area 51 too... surprisingly

I think it's methodology. In the previous tier list there weren't clear why units were places in the one tier but not another, in your iteration people can look at methodology and that gets rid of at least 80% of 'why' questions (excluding those that were detiered outside of methodology). I were lurking 3.0 for some time too and when i've seen 4.0 and that you're apparently willing to improve things i've created an account and started to bug you :)

That and the changelog, it might be tedious to maintain but please keep it, it helps too.
