    Happy late birthday I guess?

let's just say you were 364 days early
  3. yes.. no... kinda... the japcap trend was because of the so-called "capacitor plague", which is already a debate on what caused it. But the main thing with Japanese caps is that it's more expensive to integrate since most PSU ODMs are in China and will have to import and store a big quantity of them, which because of them having to be under specific conditions, is really expensive. So you won't really see someone use cheap capacitors for that but that doesn't say that Chinese/Taiwanese/German/US companies can't make as good, if not better capacitors than Japanese and a lot of Japanese companies also have Chinese factories. and of course, you always have a few claiming they have "100% Japanese capacitors" and when you open them most of it is still Chinese

I might do some minor coverage, but I'll mostly be busy elsewhere
  7. they can supply you with a replacement screw kit (plastic ones), but then they should come back to you first... might want to try your retailer as well
  8. The v1 is based off the CWT GPU platform also used in Bitfenix Whisper and Enermax Revolution DF. The v2 is based off the CWT GPX platform, essentially a costdown of said platform. Because of it being lower quality it's indeed not able to handle a low-voltage burn-in test as shown at Corsair where they put GPX under their RM/RMx burn-in test and failed 3/3 times on the same component. Because of the lower quality parts it's also a lot louder than the v1, isn't as efficient and so on. In almost every single way, DQ-M-V2L is a downgrade from DQ-M
  9. GX is ALWAYS focus v3, so you have nothing to worry about. It's just that PX specifically has the same naming on both the old and the new version, but they look visually different. The old versions are Focus Gold FM, Focus Plus Gold FX and Focus Plus Platinum PX, the new ones are Focus GM, Focus GX and Focus PX
  10. nah, we can use this as info, it's not too bad to post it here Jon was (of course) right about the group reg df part, I'll look into it internally if we can find out what it is exactly
  11. Prime GX is the newer revision with minor changes to Prime Gold, which is in tier A single rail
  12. CWT confirmed it not having OTP, the rest is still the same edit: I'm late I see
  13. There's also these two... the first was sent to a reviewer, the second was the retail unit of it. The first is a decent dc-dc CWT PUQ-B, the other is a CWT GPM that can't do over 500w while being sold as an 850w. Tier e isn't only for issues that happen with the unit itself, but also when we choose to distrust a company because we can't guarantee they actually ship what they promise. And yes, a Brazilian reviewer actually hooked this thing up to a sunmoon, loaded it up and got over 1v of ripple out of it without the unit shutting down. This is the main reason we chose to completely distrust Nox, even if they might potentially have some good units

  17. I'm a few days early, but it's been a while since I actually wrote something longer here... months probably

2020 was for me an interesting year. Even if I haven't been able to enjoy it as much as I did in 2019 because of a full lockdown, being out of work (just a side-job, don't worry) causing I could barely buy stuff for myself. Fortunately this recently changed as I became an essential worker in a local grocery store. I recently got myself a 10400f and b460 mortar to replace my 8600k+z370 pro carbon ac with the death of the latter. The 8600k will soon be used on a z390i gaming edge. Otherwise I have some smaller or more distant plans here and there, but it's still thinking around.

I do sometimes feel a bit of guilt for not being here as often as I used to. These days I enjoy being on discord where I have more direct contact with some of the people here, as well as the many, many friends I've made on there in both tech and kpop related servers, with everything in between. Yet I came here daily to look at notifications, sometimes a few posts/status updates and of course maintain the proud project I hold here, which in 2020 got to over 1.1 million views.

As for 2021? I honestly don't expect my activity to change much here, but I got an amazing project I'm currently working on with a number of people, including but not limited to the staff of the psu tier list and many, many more. This is the biggest and most amazing project I've worked on so far and I honestly can't wait to show it off once it's done, which is hopefully in early 2021.

With that said, I just want to thank some people both related to here and the project I'm now working on, which might reveal a bit of it.

@Stefan Payne - I know your account hasn't worked for over a year now, but I wanted to say this either way. You've been a huge role in my PSU knowledge and interest with dragging me into Rasurbo. You might be a bit... German, but I dont know how to thank you for that.

@Juular - compared to this genius I look lazy... That's also what he keeps telling me

@Princess Luna - you might prefer to be called Fleefy these days, but to me you're still Luna. It was fun having to figure out how to separate you and Luna (Luna) whenever we were talking together. You're calm, have a logic that goes beyond me and if you weren't as busy as you are right now, I would've dragged you into so many projects.

@GoldenLag - The komi army is still out there, taking over the forum as long as this guy is still around

@sowon - I will continue to blame you for dragging me into kpop. I will continue to blame you for dragging me into keyboards. But I'll also appreciate you gave me access to a ton of new music and an amazing, even if costly hobby.

@colonel_mortis - I still wonder what this AI must look like... this just can't be a human

@Tech_DreamerI wonder if you're still alive... Gal is waiting for you

@jonnyGURU - PSU mastermind and "create a new thread" bot for the PSU tier list... all at the same time

@Crunchy Dragon - even if you'd wreck me again with your eyes closed, warlock is still superior

@Meganter- 51k DMs with a proud father. Stay strong dude (and you still owe me a vega 64)

and I could honestly go on and on, but this is slowly turning into something that would be flagged as a mass ping. I've loved my time here and will still continue to do so, even if it became less. This is the place I got started and will continue to appreciate that. Thanks to every single one of you seeing this, thanks to every single member for creating this amazing community where I've been able to participate in for so long already. Let 2021 be a great year.

PS. if you do want to speak me more directly and quick... discord is in the contact methods

New video up! This one's on my beloved keyboard…

@Energycorethat'll mainly depend on the rest of the keyboard but if you're just starting... might just want to consider something like Gateron yellow since it's similar in weight and costs 1/5th at around 20c per switch

New video up! This one's on my beloved keyboard…

@Energycoretealios are boutique switches from zealpc, so the only "prebuilt" boards you'll find are pre-assembled keyboards with it. With that said, it is possible to get a hotswap board and put them into that ... the only downside being that tealios are around 1 dollar per switch ~ typed on tealios 65g
  20. APGM is in the list in tier B with that said, V-platinum is better in almost every way
