  1. I managed to update Windows via "Windows Update Assistant" from Microsoft's website, I've ran a 3rd benchmark with my updated OS that I will post below. I am still experiencing the same issues as above though, I do not think its Windows 10 being more demanding than Windows 7 as what I'm seeing is the exact same as it was before. There doesn't appear to be any clear culprits in my task manager, and everything is reporting fine but there's still a very noticeable amount of lag. Primarily I've been playing Dead By Daylight and Dauntless, I always have Discord open and would normally watch Twitch while playing DBD (this would cause a slight amount of frame drops) but not while running Dauntless. DBD I've had to run in the lowest settings since I got it and since this problem started it has been performing as though my browser we're open all the time with quick spikes slightly worse than that. I bought this game in September 2019 and it has ran acceptably until now. Dauntless on the other hand has been giving me an unstable 40fps but reporting 59-60 in MSI after burner, I also had to run this game in the lowest settings to achieve desired fps but since this issue started i haven't seen anything smooth during game play. This is a free game and I started playing it in December 2019 this too was running acceptably until now. I have also purchased Human Fall Flat after these problems arose and it will start degrading in performance relatively quick, which I find odd as I believe it to be the least demanding. I didn't play this before the lag but I know this shouldn't be happening as my younger brother can run it fine with his GeForce 710 (the bad one!) and a 1st gen intel cpu. I reinstalled Left 4 Dead 2 which I used to run before I upgraded my PC in (almost) max settings with next to no issues, it is now experience a tiny amount of lag. My old PC had an i3-2100 @3.1ghz, a GeForce 210 1gb and 4gb ram @1300mhz. I can't associate this lag to the issue as I didn't play this before it started. Overall my PC is performing worse than it was and has been since before I switched to Windows 10 and persist with the same intensity now that I do have Windows 10. The Benchmarks I've taken are all reporting fine and I have none from before the issue to compare them with but this issue wasn't present mere days ago and still exists now while attempting to do most anything I've done. If there's anything else I can do to fix this or at least properly identify it I still need help. https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/24158136

  3. I ran the benchmark anyways. https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/24084860
  4. Hi thanks for the speedy response, sorry for the lack of info I was trying to avoid generalized answers. I seem to be performing fine in 2d desktop mode but literally everything else that access's my GPU (including my browser and video players) forces it to spike and I receive immense lag in my games that were running fine a couple days ago. I have been running MSI Afterburner and during heavy load I have been running at 65c, my CPU runs a little hotter but has remained under 85c so far so it doesn't concern me either. However my gpu clock speed has been jumping from 400mhz to over 1700mhz (base clock is 1250mhz and boost clock is 1500mhz) this is when i notice lag spikes in my games. My specs are as follows CPU- i5-3470 @3.4ghz GPU-GeForce 1030 GT 2GB GDDR5 RAM-8GB @1600mhz SSD-500GB PSU-750w If you still feel i should run a benchmark please let me know, and feel free to ask for more info. EDIT: I should add that while monitoring my games with MSI Afterburner i receive no fluctuation in "FPS" but my screen is showing otherwise.
  5. I've been using windows 7 for a while now, and a few days ago i started dropping frames for no reason at all. After googling for a few hours I became convinced I had a "GPU miner" on my pc, I tried to fix it manually with scans and basic digging around my folders but nothing worked and my fps continued to get worse. Once i reached the point of feeling like this was unsolvable I finally broke down and installed windows 10 assuming if there we're any problems they would be gone with a clean install. (no I didn't "upgrade" I performed a clean installation and even formatted my SSD via windows installer.) Needless to say the issue still persists and has even escalated in severity... If anyone is willing to offer me some help on this matter it would mean a lot, my computer is my life and i simply can't afford to replace it.
  6. so i have determined it is also a gtx 550 ti now im trying to determine what version of the vbios i should be getting as i have no idea who manufactured this card before it was modified and nvidia has just told me that installing a version that was not the original manufacturer's could render my card useless ive been looking through techpowerup's list of vbios for gtx 550 ti's but idk what one to get
  7. so i ended up buying one of these fake gtx 1050 ti's $70 on wish can anyone help me with flashing it to the proper vbios this is unknown territory for me im also not sure how to determine if its either a gts 450, gtx 460, gtx 550 ti or maybe even a different card i spoke with a geforce agent who simply told me there is no way to determine what it is and to buy a real one but ive read around and know that to be untrue any help would be appreciated as ive exceeded the 30 day return policy troubleshooting the errors this card was producing edit** i have the exact same card fishburger987 posted a picture of
