  1. Hello all, I just upgraded from a RTX 2080 to a 6900xt, and it arrived today. Got it all installed and I'm not getting any video output, and I'm looking for any ideas on how to troubleshoot it. It's definitely booting into Windows, since I hear my Bluetooth speaker connect at the windows login screen. I'm running a 3700x, 32gb ddr4, Aorus X570 ITX, EVGA 850W SFX PSU, and a PCI-e 3.0 riser cable. Any help is greatly appreciated. EDIT: I tested it and the riser in a friend's system, and it works, so something is funky about it in my system. Still looking for any ideas EDIT: Solved. Set PCIe gen in bios from Auto to Gen3.
  2. Hey everyone, I'm wondering if anyone has any experience carrying a desktop onto a plane.I'm a college student leaving tomorrow to fly home as all spring classes have been moved online. I built a brand new gaming PC in February, and after a slew of DOA components, I finally got it up and running just a couple days ago, and I'd like to be able to continue to use it, as it'll stay dormant until August if I leave it here. Its a dual AIO build in the Phanteks Evolv Shift, so its not too difficult to box up and carry around, mainly just worried that TSA would have a fit over it, especially with the liquid coolers. Thanks in advance!
  3. CPU temps are fine. I switched from the FTW Hybrid to the XC hybrid so I could put a fan on the CPU aio and that improved thermals. I'll try reseating it
  4. Ah, I forgot to mention this. It is not, it goes to 1515 MHz and caps out at 90% usage, while running at 40 C in Unigine Heaven 4k
  5. Hello, I just built myself a new pc. Its a dual AIO build in the Phanteks Evolv Shift, with a Ryzen 7 3700x and a RTX 2080 XC Hybrid. Bit of a long story, I originally had a RTX 2080 FTW Hybrid, but returned it and got the RTX 2080 XC Hybrid to replace it. Computer was running great with the FTW, but since getting the XC Hybrid, Windows is extremely laggy and frequently stutters, sometimes taking several minutes to register mouse clicks or key presses. The behavior has persisted even through a reinstall of Windows. At this point, I'm thinking its either the Graphics card causing it or my ssd, which is the only used part in the build, its a Samsung 960 Evo 1TB that I got about 3 years ago now. Any fixes or recommendations to determine the root of the problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  6. I'm planning a new build, and I'm trying to figure out if a 2.5 slot GPU will fit in the Phanteks Evolv Shift? I'm planning on buying a mesh tide panel to replace the tempered glass, so thermals shouldn't be a problem, I just want to know if it will fit. Thanks!
  7. I recently bought a thunderbolt dock for my Dell G7 7590, and I'm having troubles using the display output on the dock. I have an Acer XR342CK (3440x1440 75Hz) monitor attached, but it only runs off the Intel dedicated graphics and not the NVidia 2070 Max-Q, so it only runs at 30hz. Any ideas on how to fix this?
  8. Nvidia usually releases the 80/70 series first, then trickles down to the 60 and eventually 50 series cards. The 1080 launched on May 27th, 2016 and the 1050 launched 5 months later on October 25th, 2016. So, in short, the 1150/2050, whatever its called, will be faster than the 1050 (we'll see how much) but it'll be a LONG wait.
  9. Are you getting output to your display from the card?
  10. Hello all, When I went to start my PC today, the it went through a pretty rapid power cylce repeatedly. It was on for ~1 second, then turned off and then right back on repeatedly. I've made sure all the power cables are plugged in fully, including unplugging them and plugging them back in. I've also checked to make sure my power supply is still working, which it is. Specs: Windows 10 64 bit AMD Ryzen 7 1700x (oc'ed to 3.9 GHz, can't get to bios to reset) Asus Strix X-370 Gaming Motherboard 2x8gb Micron DDR4 2133mhz Msi GTX 1080 Armor EVGA NEX750G1 Power supply I've also removed and reinstalled the CMOS battery, and now the PC doesn't power cycle, it just doesn't start at all. I'm connecting the power button front panel connectors with a screw driver. EDIT: It turns on now, but still doesn't post. Debug LEDs on the motherboard don't turn on, so I suspect it's dead. I checked each stick of RAM in each slot and nothing. If anyone has any ways I can definitively tell if it's the RAM, CPU, or Mobo, I'd greatly appreciate the help Thank you all in advance!
  11. I'm wondering if my current PSU can support dual GTX 1070's. I currently have a EVGA NEX750G1 80+ Gold Power Supply, and my CPU is a Ryzen 7 1700x running at 3.9 GHz.
  12. Most of the times that needs a full restart otherwise the system kinda freaks out when PCI-e devices are suddenly lost
  13. I know LTT did a video about this a while ago with 2 GTX 780 Ti's in SLI and 2 R9 290X's in CF in one system a couple of years ago, but I'm not sure if that would still work today.
  14. My friend has a Sapphire R9 390X graphics card that just died. Its still under the 2 year warranty period, but he is having difficulty finding where to get the card replaced. Since I've never had to get something replaced through warranty, I thought it would help to ask people who have so I can help my friend figure this out. Thanks!
  15. Shouldn't need much more than this https://www.amazon.com/Speedometer-Odometer-Wireless-Waterproof-Multi-Functions/dp/B01HL0B5AU/ref=sr_1_1?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1499658367&sr=1-1-spons&keywords=bicycle%2Bcomputer&th=1
  16. Its way more than hes looking to spend. $400 for the cheapest CPU and $175 for the cheapest motherboard. That makes up more than half of his budget right there, and the 6700 is probably better in gaming anyway since lga 2011 cpu's are about core count for productivity and suffer a little in gaming performance.
  17. The Ti does have better performance per dollar than then 1080. Then again, the 1080 will do just fine at 1080p 144hz. Just yesterday Newegg was selling new Gigabyte 1080 Turbo OC cards on ebay for $420, I'd keep an eye out for deals like those
  18. If your motherboard has enough fan headers, I would use that. I use SpeedFan and it does excellent controlling fan speeds, and I believe Jayztwocents even did a video on how to set it up.
  19. I have Noctua NF-F12's and they're great. I highly recommend them. They're a bit pricey though so any of the recommendations from @legacy99 will be excellent options as well. I've also heard that Fractal Design Venturi fans are good radiator fans too.
  20. It'll be pretty tough to find a small case with 240mm rad support. Honestly, most air coolers aren't that bad and will allow you to have a smaller computer. Air coolers tend to be quieter (less moving parts) and last longer (again, less moving parts).
  21. I'd buy the cheapest card you can find a block for. Look around on ebay too for 1080 blocks, they can come pretty cheap. When I bought my 980ti and block, that's what I did and got them for ~$120 less than the cards and blocks were at the time (I bought the card used as well).
  22. Corsair's RMi series are quite good power supplies, imo its not really worth it to even step up to RMx. As for wattage, 750w will give you extra headroom for either of the setups you mentioned, the 650w will easily handle the 1080 ti but might cut a bit close on the dual 960s, and the 550w will be fine for the 1080 ti, so just get what fits your budget.
  23. Upgrading your GPU would probably give a higher FPS increase vs a CPU upgrade. My only concern would be a CPU bottleneck. Your 2600 would probably be fine with something like a GTX 1070 in less demanding games, but might introduce a bottleneck in more demanding games. I'm not 100% sure though, so get some confirmation about this before making your choice.
  24. I'm running a gtx 970 and was looking into upgrading to dual Rx 480's at some point because they are a great value.
