ayandon reacted to TPA50 in QUESTION: Buying Dolby Atmos from Microsoft Store?
I use Dolby Atmos for Headphones and I wouldn't really say it's bad. Though I also have open backed headphones with a good passive soundstage. Sure it's not the same as a full setup but true Atmos costs a heck of a lot more and isn't available for the vast majority of people.
To get a rough idea of how it sounds, check out this video:

If you are buying for use with headphones, don't.
If you think that you need to buy it in order to get Atmos output from your Atmos enabled AVR hooked up to a Windows PC, you don't. The free tier works for that.

It just isn't any good. You'll never get the same spatial sound experience from a pair of headphones that you will from a true Atmos setup.

ayandon reacted to TheJeffChen in diy TPM module
My Asus Z170 Pro Gaming needed a TPM module, so I designed one for myself. You could use it as a reference for yours. The thing is quite simple tbh.

ayandon reacted to TheJeffChen in My DIY ASUS 14-1 Pin TPM-M R2.0 Module
I needed this. So I designed one. Hope it helps some of you.😇
Parts
--------
SLB9665TT20 TPM Chip:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/313526673758 2 mm pitch double row right angle pin header
Choose the 2x7 option
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32887332295.html 4x 100nF 6.3V 0603 SMD capacitors 2x 10K Ohm 0603 SMD resistors PCB:
https://oshpark.com/shared_projects/pVqwq0NS 3D Printed Shell Print with the outside facing upwards Suggested layer height: 0.16mm. Suggested line width: 0.35mm. Uses two 6mm M2 screw and nut. Note: You do NOT have to follow the links I used. The specs are pretty laid out so you can source your own parts if you prefer.
Assembly
--------
You have to know how to solder VERY well. Experience in soldering TSSOP and SMD components is required.
Note the pin header should be keyed. You can cut a piece of the compatible pin and stuff it into the hole on the bottom row, the 3rd one from the right.
Note: if you are an amateur on soldering, this might not be a bad project to learn how to solder, since everything is quite affordable. Learn how to pre-tin SMD pads for caps and resistor, how to tack a chip in place, and then drag solder alone one side, then the other. We all have to start from somewhere.
Installation
-------
Jam it onto your motherboard with power turned OFF (I don't have to teach you the basics, right?) For my motherboard, once booted into the BIOS, the chip is automatically recognized and ready to go. Windows 10 also recognized it without any fuss.
Updating Firmware
-------
The firmware version on the chip might be quite out-dated and requires an update to work properly with Windows. Please check out the following guide on how to update the firmware on your TPM chip:
https://qzhou.dev/updating-a-vulnerable-tpm
Note: It is possible that your chips might come with a rare firmware version and no update could be found. You might have to find a different seller and try your luck if that's the case.

Looking at the connector of you motherboard seems like it uses a LPC interface to the TPM chip.
There is a LPC version of a TPM 2.0 chip from MSI, model number MS-4136 but the product states that it supports Intel 300 series / AMD 400 series motherboards.
So I'm not sure it will work for your board, even if it uses the same protocol. Someone online tested it with a MSI P55-GD65 and it doesn't work.
The original module for your board might not be TPM 2.0, and I don't know if W11 will work with TPM versions lower than 2.0.
Check your CPU specs, it might have TPM included in it. For Intel it should be called PTT.

ayandon reacted to quark23 in diy TPM module
The chip from the module I need uses SPI as comm protocol. The module is basically a breakout for the chip's pins. Still you'd need to take care of pullups/pulldowns and some series resistors for some of the comm pins. And some bypasses.
The design for the pcb should be pretty simple, and as long as chip stocks are no issue, this could be an alternative if you don't have integrated TPM into your CPU.

Yeah I already decided to try and make one. Will update when I get to make it.

ayandon reacted to beves in diy TPM module
here is a schematic for the tpm module using the infineon chip series, this circuit pretty much covers implementation for asus 14-1 tpm headers. you just need to find the pinouts for your motherboards tpm header and match the pinouts from the circuit. its not a straight forward chip to pin since you need to use coupling capacitors as well as a couple of pull down resistors to stabilize the vcc as well as to flag plugged in id
hope this helps
edit- chips came preflashed with the firmware.

ayandon reacted to quark23 in diy TPM module
Hello,
I was thinking of trying to play with the TPM module on my PC for some time but never got to actually ordering the needed TPM module.
In my case I'd need the MSI one, model number MS-4462. It uses an Infineon SLB 9670VQ2.0 chip, and as far as I can tell the module is just a breakout for the chip's pins. I looked at both the chip schematic and module pictures, it's pretty simple.
My question is, does anyone know if there's any kind of proprietary firmware on the chip itself? Like maybe some MSI bit of code that would render a DIY solution useless? The computer "talks" to it via SPI. The chip itself is like 3$.

ayandon reacted to Kilrah in Suggest: XFX 570 with Bad BIOS
Then that sounds just like it, if the size is different of course the md5 will be. But I was referring to looking at the actual contents of the files...
Also the BIOS downloaded from techpowerup might be the "quiet" BIOS while you read the "performance" one or vice versa. The whole point of the dual BIOS switch is to have 2 different ones.

Do you have a TV stand FULL of old consoles? What if I told you that you can reduce it to ONE machine for around $20, assuming you already have an Xbox? Don’t believe me? Watch and find out how.

Friends,
I am not from USA, but I have a question/suggestion.
Since the US Congress can call -
Mark Zuckerberg for the Facebook Data leaked by an 'other company', Cambridge Analytica. Google CEO Sundar Pichai for iPhone issue made by the 'other company'.
Why can't US Congress call Lord Gabe Newell and ask about Half-Life 2 : Episode 3 and Half Life 3?!!!!
PLEASE call him.

ayandon got a reaction from Beef Boss in Logicweb hosting provider threating me for Review in Facebook
Guys,
I used to run a Indian Tech Blog website by Logicweb hosting provider.
(Just tech news related to Indian Market)
Their server performance was average, but they used to change server configurations and service plans all the time without informing.
Example - change the PHP MySQL version, changes in PHP.INI settings, FTP Port, CPanel Port and URL etc.
When complained, their support team was very very rude.
They think every one in this world are 'tech savvy'.
After such bad support and also getting insulted multiple time, I decided to switch the provider.
I also posted a 1 STAR Review in their Facebook Page.
In reply, I got this rather THREAT email -
