  1. What type of hardware are you thinking for Arch Linux? I am currently running a Cirago NUS 1000, and that is slowing down at about 10 users. An it slows down to the point you might have to refresh the page just to get the file list to populate, much less open a file.
  2. What are the cheaper solutions you were thinking of? I was hoping to use consumer grade hardware. Thanks
  3. Hi guys, I need a little help. I am looking to build a file server that can share student reading (PDF's) over a LAN that has no internet. Conditions I can have up to 80 students at once. All student files combined are less than 100 MB. I am looking to use FreeNAS. Would like decently responsive downloads. I am looking to purchase used/cheaper parts to build this, but no real budget has been set. The simpler of a setup the better, I am looking to pass this off to people who are not very tech savvy. Questions: How powerful of a processor should I use? What type of things should I do to help the load of 80 possible logins? Should I use more than 8 Gigs of RAM? If so how much? Can i get away with 1 HDD, or maybe 1 SSD? Do you have any other tips/words of advice? Thanks in advance,
  4. Not expecting to get crazy low temps, just wanting a quiet cooling system. Thanks for the Rad list, I'll look into those. Why coolant vs water? The forums seem to indicate that overall water is less demanding than coolant.
  5. Thanks, I had already been looking at EKWB for the GPU block, but needed help on the res.
  6. I have thought about that, but I'm not sure it will fit.
  7. I need to cool the GPU as well so a closed loop wont work. I am using a NCASE M1, so lots of hard work ahead. I get that closed loop would normally be better, but I guess I figure that there should be a way to replicate the closed loop longevity in a custom loop.
  8. Hey guys, I am looking at building a Mini-ITX HTPC. I am going to watercool to help keep the noise down. So I need some help with trying to make the water loop be able to not need ANY maintenance for at least 1 year. I am planning on using copper rads/ copper heatsinks, along with silver coated fittings. I am also thinking about flushing all parts with DI water in a effort to really clean the system. Any tips or tricks are appreciated, Thanks
