  1. The motherboard has some integrated gpu though. Idk
  2. I use windows 64 though. I also tried to oc but the pc won't even post then. I've read that it might be my motherboard allocating the 1.25 gb of ram to the integrated graphics or something like that but I don' think I can change this in my bios unfortunately.
  3. I have 4gb of 667 mhz ddr2 but due to motherboard limitations or lack of some bios settings I think I only get 2.75 533mhz ''useable'' ram. I ordered 4gb because I didn't know what model of motherboard I had due to the very unclear naming scheme of the manufacturer and innacurate info. Same with the underclocked e6700 because of the lower motherboard bus speed. I have a q6700 on the way and I don't know if it's even going to work with my mobo. It's a foxconn 45gm/cm. I live in a rural part of Ireland so you pretty much have to order stuff from England or China here. It's just that I got a free gtx 750 ti, played on a slow 2009 laptop this far, had a 400 euro pc from 2007 and thought that if I upgrade some stuff in the pc for like 25 euro it's going to be a cheap and significant upgrade from the laptop. My lga 775 mobo is pretty bad tho. I mainly did all of that because I didn't really know how pcs work but I know now and could build a pc if I wanted to. I've got a decent pc and learned a lot for 25 euro, not too bad.
  4. Well you can see if a game is cpu bound if the minimum settings require a stronger cpu than a gpu(relatively). Also just by looking at usage of cpu and gpu in programs like msi afterburner. Cpu intensive games tend to have better, more complex mechanics and be open world while gpu bound games are more linear.
  5. Hello guys. I've got a pretty weak cpu( core2duo e6700 underclocked to 2ghz) and only 2.75gb of dual channel 533mhz ddr2 ram with a gtx 750 ti. What non-cpu heavy games can you recommend? I can play at 30 fps. My monitor is 1280X1024. I tried games like bioshock 2 and sniper elite 2 and they run at 60 fps at maxed settings, carmageddon max damage runs at about 30 at lowest settings and napoleon total war runs at about 35 at lowest. I only care about the gameplay and story, graphics don't really matter unless we are talking about 2d side-scrolling games. Any suggestions? Thanks
  6. Well I've read that the best ryzens get to about 220W when ocd and gtx 1080ti can get to 275W. Seeing how efficiency curve doesn't favour pulling 520/550 or 520/650 I'd say it's worth it long term. And you get extra 3 years of warranty.
  7. It says 10 years for this one on amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/EVGA-SuperNOVA-Modular-Tester-220-G2-0750-X3/dp/B01AHRQW5W/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1523128187&sr=8-5&keywords=evga+g2+650w
  8. I have a jet engine in my pc now so it doesn't bother me
  9. I'm just asking if anyone here having this psu didn't have some strange issues which might be missed in reviews.
  10. Hello, do you think that evga g2 750W has adequate quality of build to last 10 years or more of gaming at about 500W? This is the unit https://www.amazon.co.uk/EVGA-SuperNOVA-Modular-Tester-220-G2-0750-X3/dp/B01AHRQW5W/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1523126422&sr=8-3&keywords=evga+750w Edit: I'm on a budget, I will not go over this price
  11. Would it be ok to use this psu https://www.amazon.co.uk/300W-Ever-Power-ISO-400P-13735/dp/B00GXO740Q to check if q6700 is compatible with my foxconn 45gm mobo? These are the specs: 4gb ddr2 in 2 sticks, core2quad q6700, foxconn45gm, gtx 750ti, 1 case fan, 1 7.2k rpm hard drive and I can't take out the graphics card because there's no integrated graphics on q6700. I already checked the 65W core2duo e6700 and it can handle it. Can it handle extra 40W for a few minutes? Thanks
  12. Thanks for your reply, I'm not an expert on psus, can you tell me very shortly what is the best sort of regulation in psus? Quick googling seems to tell me independent, is that correct? How many types are there, 2? Thanks
  13. Hello. I need a 600w psu with a good, single 12v rail for this build (4gb ddr2 in 2 sticks, core2quad q6700, foxconn45gm, gtx 750ti, 1 case fan, 1 7.2k rpm hard drive) and for expensive future builds ( you can assume gtx 1080 ti , ryzen 1600x and high end stuff like that for the sake of this question). What psu should I buy? Do the old components need more than 15W on 5V rail for safe usage? Would this be safe? https://www.amazon.co.uk/EVGA-WHITE-Power-Supply-100-W1-0600-K3/dp/B01127D0MY/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1522946194&sr=8-2&keywords=evga+psu Thanks Edit:I forgot to ask, long term is corsair a reliable brand? I've heard some bad things about their products.
