  1. Hi guys, I am having a problem. I have an intel xeon x3440 processor which wont run in my h55 motherboard. the motherboard is from an indian brand called zebronics. I suspected the motherboard to be a dead motherboard so i went to a pc repair shop and they tried various different motherboards. The problem is, the fans and all spins, the pc powers up but there is no display output. I tried swapping or using single ram, also tried changing graphics cards, tried different motherboards, one was from biostar and i still just got a no display problem. I checked my monitor and no problem with it. I had the motherboard speaker installed in the motherboard but there were no beep codes. Only once the ram beeped when the repair guy put an incompatible ram in it. Thing is these people dont have a processor to test whether it is a dead processor problem or incompatibility issue of the processor. So i was wondering whether you guys could deduce any conclusions. I am totally confused here as to what the problem is. Thank you
  2. Guys i asked the repair guy to try using graphics card vga instead and all but its not working. No output. He even swapped the graphics card but same outcome. Plz any suggestions?
  3. Yes i have followed most of it except the static. The biostar motherboard should support my processor. I tried ram with all combinations possible. I got a mobo speaker installed but it doesnt beep at all. Cpu power is connected properly in the 4 pin. I aligned the processor properly without fail. there are bumps in my case which always keeps the motherboard raised so i don't think i need those standoffs. Yes i put the power cable for video card properly. Tried with different motherboards outside the case still same problem.
  4. The PC fans spin and no it doesnt give any beep codes. I have the motherboard speaker installed on the board but still no beeps. Yes they tried different psus. But no i didnt try a different graphics card yet.
  5. Hi guys, I tried to build a PC with these specs Intel xeon x3440 processor Zebronics h55 motherboard 6 gb of ram (I dont know if its ecc or non ecc ram) 750 ti graphics card corsair vs450 powersupply Problem is it doesnt show any display on screen. I tried everything possible, cmos battery and all, even gave it to a repair shop. They tried motherboards from biostar with h55 chipset and it still gives no display on screen. By now i am thinking the processor might be a dead one but also thinking whether the motherboards that were tried were incompatible. the repair shop gave up and i am left with a non functional pc. I used my parents money on it and i dont want it to go waste. Can anybody suggest me a way out? Could it be motherboard compatibility issue or the processor is dead? we tried with an h55 chipset motherboard but it didnt work. Should i try with a p55 chipset motherboard? or should i just buy another processor. Also one more thing do i need special ram to run this processor?? Thanks alot guys. edit: Different ram and psus were tried but still same no display problem. So its something related with the processor or motherboard.
  6. oh alright. But i just found out that my bios version is 0802. phenom x4 9150e requires 0603 bios. So am i in the safe and can i just go ahead put my new processor in the mobo?
  7. Hi guys, so i bought a new processor for my pc. But it needs me to update it to a higher version of bios. The motherboard i have is m2a-mx from asus. It has an ez flash feature but its only working with cd or floppy drive. I dont have any of those two. I thought i could update the bios using a usb drive. But i am not able to. Is there any third party software or some other software to do it using usb? Thanks alot guys. edit: Guys my motherboard bios version is 0802 and my new processor is phenom x4 9150e will it support the processor? as i see it only requires bios version 0603. Will my processor work withour updating?
  8. omg thats a relief. Thanks alot guys. Will test soon once the mobo arrives. You guys rock.
  9. Hello guys, so i am building my dream PC and i had ordered this second hand(since im on a budget) processor intel xeon x3440. I recieved it yesterday. But my motherboard is yet to come. But what i saw was that there was a slight damage (maybe) on the cpu capacitor. I am worried if the processor will work fine. It doesnt look much damaged. Will it work?
  10. Thanks alot guys, that relieves me. I also watched a few videos on it and feel i'm pretty much okay. Thanks alot!
  11. Hey guys, I am currently trying to build a pc. the motherboard i ordered is an lga 1156 motherboard. I was checking it today and accidentally i bent one pin because of the stupid lid it came with. I immediately removed it to see the damage and it was all okay until i saw a slight bend in one pin. I checked all pins but luckily only that one pin was a bit tilted. I was very scared but i used a razor edge tool to allign it back in its position. but as i see its still having a very slight bend. The pic is below. If you see carefully you can see its a bit higher than the rest. I dont have the processor yet. Its yet to reach me as i ordered it yesterday. But this event has scared me. Is my mobo okay? should i try to reallign it more? im afraid the pin might break so i gave up and asking you guys. Thanks alot!
  12. hmmm.. i watched a few videos and i see them using the laptop screen to play. the external gpu thing goes into where the wifi chip went.
  13. okay cool. i could get a screen thats fine. But will it perform well with the games? i was concerned about my processor. Dont want bottlenecks that wud suck.
  14. damn. i thought i cud use the laptop screen. isnt that possible? it has a vga port. dont know if that wud be possible
  15. Hi guys, so my laptop is a lenovo g40-45 which has an amd apu a8 6410. I had bought this laptop for gaming since i wanted portability but a bit gaming as well. It has an amd m330 gpu 2 gb ddr3 but its slow playing games like gta 5 and other high spec games. i was wondering if instead of upgrading to a desktop (which definitely needs me cashing out alot of money which i dont have) cud i buy a gpu,an external gpu pci slot thing and a psu and get good performance for my laptop? If not anybody give me some solution cause i'd love to game i have a long vacation coming up and its been a long college year i wanna chill play some cool games. Thanks alot guys . My budget is say 150 dollars. im getting a 960 for 120 dollars (second hand) and im pretty excited about the deal. Also i cud get gtx 750 ti its cheaper here. So i cud buy a reputable psu I saw the external gpu video here
  16. i am afraid not. Thats the best i can get with what money i have. Actually i kind of sold some of my stuff to get enough to buy another psu. So you can understand how desperate i am . Thats the best i can do. I am not planning to play any games on 1080p res or something. Since my processor isnt that good anyways. I'd like to play on 720p 60 fps is very much sufficient. i kind of watched a few videos by jays2cents he said even at i'd not require more than 300 watt. Taking into account the 80+ rating. And it being from a good brand i was hoping this would do.
  17. The above post. sorry i forgot to quote
  18. i see. well could you tell me why exactly is it crappy? Because at first i was going for a very crappy power supply of 650 watts which had no 80+ efficiency. And now this is the best i can afford. I am not earning and i really want to play some good games with my new graphic card. from the spec sheet it says its got alot of protection. Look im not a hardcore gamer so i'll probably be playing games at 720p and medium settings or even lower considering my processor being not so strong. Could i get away with using this psu? My budget is just 150 rm (i live in malaysia). Actually i used up all my money on the crappy avf power supply and i kind of tried to collect some money somehow for this psu. I will change the psu in a year or so once i start earning. Thanks alot
  19. I recently bought a new graphic card for my pc. My pc is an old one, thats the best i have since i am not earning. PC specs: Amd athlon 64 x2 5000+ 2.6 GHz processor Asus Gtx 750 TI OC 2 gb graphic card (my new graphic card) 2 sticks of ddr2 1 gb ram asus M2A-MX motherboard I am thinking of buying this psu. Now i am on a very tight budget so this is the max i could go for. It was the cheapest with an 80+ rating i could find. I want your opinion whether the psu is good and whether it work with my system properly or not. http://www.corsair.com/en-gb/vs-seriestm-vs450-450-watt-power-supply This is the power supply. Thank you edit: i want to play games like gta 5 ( i will mod the game to run on a 2 gb, i have seen its possible) and other games. Will the psu be able to take the load?
  20. Okay i understand. But i am really on a tight budget. I used up all my money on the avf power supply which i now will have to return and god knows when i'll get back the refund. Is this psu good? http://www.corsair.com/en-gb/vs-seriestm-vs450-450-watt-power-supply its having 80+ efficiency too. Thank you for the reply
  21. Hello everyone, thank you for replying to my post first of all. I have an old PC which has an amd athlon 64 x2 5000+ 2.6 ghz processor, and asus gtx 750ti 2gb ddr5 graphic card. I ordered the graphic card recently and i am on a very tight budget. i want to buy a PSU but since i am on a very tight budget the best i can afford is this psu. It is a coolermaster elite v2 550 Watt power supply http://www.coolermaster.com/powersupply/office-home-elite-power/elite-power-v2-550w/ It is not an 80+ rated supply but the link to the cooler master site says it is >75% efficiency. I tried to find better psus in my budget but this is the only psu i can go for. Could i go for it without any worries of the psu blasting or any stuff like that? Also will the psu be sufficient for the graphics card? it has 23 and 20 amperes on the 12 volt rail. Thanks alot!
  22. Well i already ordered it yesterday. Today while reading the forums i found people saying its unreliable. I cant cancel my order as its already shipping so i just wanted to know if i could get away with using this psu.
  23. Yes i saw the 12 volt rail wattage and it has 2 channnels of that with 25 amps on each. So will it be okay?
  24. Hello, Thanks for reading my post first of all. I have an old PC which uses amd athlon 64 x2 5000+ processor, 2 sticks of ddr2 800 MHz ram and now i am not really rich and i wanted to upgrade my pc so i could at least play games like gta 5 and all. So i bought this graphic card : asus gtx 750 2 gb ddr5 https://www.lazada.com.my/products/asus-gtx-750-gtx750-oc-2gb-gddr5-128-bit-dual-fan-pcie-graphic-card-refurbished-i244756345-s323005986.html?spm=a2o4k.searchlist.list.1.4c5d6b847e7q6A&search=1 I realized that my psu wont be enough to provide for the graphic card. I really wanted to get the graphic card so i tried getting a psu which could work with it. Its called avf extreme power 650 watts http://www.avf.com.my/avf.php?c=72&p=310 I read the reviews were good on the buy-sell site (lazada) so i ordered it. Much to my dismay i checked a few forums after that and people said its not a really reliable brand and you should stay away from it. Now i cant really cancel the order and i dont have enough cash to order another one. I wanted to know if there could be any risk. I thought that my pc would not go above the 650 watt or even 400 watt. The graphic card is pretty much efficient and doesnt take much wattage. Will the psu be able to handle it?? Thank you.
