  1. Does anyone have any suggestions for an entry level microphone for gaming on discord and doing some light streaming/youtube videos? I originally purchased a Blue Yeti, but just couldn't get it to sound the way I wanted to. My voice was alright, but it wasn't the best quality.. Sounded tinny and slightly electronic to me, not to mention it picked up every little thing in the room and typing/mouseclicks were loud, even with gain all the way down. Either way, I have been told that USB mics might not be the best option and that XLR is the way to go. I'm still open to USB mics though, if any are better than the Blue Yeti. I've glanced at the AT2020/AT2035 and I'm also considering those. But I figured it would be best to ask around. My budget is around 150$, but I could go as high as 200$ if necessary. Or would a modmic be a better option? Not sure how those sound compared to desktop mics.
  2. Thanks man, I'll take your word for it. Do I need to purchase anything to drive it or will my motherboard work well enough? Also, have you tried out the bluetooth adapter for them?
  3. Noted! Man.. Picking out headphones is proving to be quite the complicated ordeal. It's hard to trust reviews because they are so mixed everywhere. I just want a good pair of gaming headphones with some nice bass, clear audio that makes gunshots and explosions pop, with detail that makes gaming and music much more entertaining and satisfying. Is that so hard to ask?! And then there are lists upon lists of cans that would be good, but I have no idea which ones are the 'perfect' ones for me.
  4. I appreciate all of the input. I think I've decided on the Audio Technica ATH-M50X, for both gaming and music. Would these be a decent purchase as an entry into better audio for my PC use?
  5. What about the Sennheiser RS 195 RF Wireless Headphones? I've read that they use uncompressed audio and sound really good for a wireless set. Any comments on that? Again, mostly for gaming and music.
  6. Thank you for the quick replies. I did some quick research on the K7XX's from Massdrop and I'm quite interested to hear about how they sound. I'd definitely consider picking them up if you think they would be worth it. I imagine they will be better than my current Game One's? Also curious to know about the soundstage and bass, for both gaming and music. If I were to pick up the K7XX's, would I need to purchase some sort of Amp or Soundcard to drive them efficiently?
  7. So it's my birthday today and I decided that I want to treat myself, but I have ZERO experience with quality headphones. I'm a PC gamer that enjoys audio, with a pretty high attention to detail. The best quality headset I have used has been the Sennheiser Game One's. I loved the audio quality, but they just didn't have enough bass for me. I'm looking for some headphones that have really nice bass and thump, but not to the extreme where it muddles the sound. I'm trying to find that perfect "middle of the road" option. I would personally prefer a wireless set of headphones for PC, because I just recently bought a desktop mic and it would be amazing to not have to deal with any wires and just be able to walk around my home.. But I'm completely open to some wired headphones as well, because I've heard the audio quality is far better. But for wireless headphones, I've been looking at the Sennheiser RS 185 RF Wireless. Right now I only have my motherboard to drive any headphones that I purchase. My motherboard is the MSI Z170A PC Mate (MS-7971) and my PC is about a year old or so. So I dont know if this matters at all. Also, I tried a pair of Bose SoundLink's and while I loved the audio quality and bass, they just didn't feel powerful enough for me and I'm not a fan of the bluetooth connectivity on the PC, I'd rather have a pair of headphones with better drivers and amazing sound/power behind them.
  8. I wouldn't even know where to start, honestly. I've only ever used the Sennheiser Game One's and I don't think my motherboard can drive them correctly, as they were seriously lacking in bass. I'm just using my PC's motherboard to power whatever headphones I choose to purchase, so I'm at a bit of a loss there.
  9. I'm just curious, from those of you who have tried multiple wireless gaming headsets, which of them have the best sound quality for both gaming and listening to music/watching movies? I'm really just trying to figure out what the best pair of wireless headphones are, but I'm torn between the Siberia 800, Arctis 7, Razer Thresher, Cloud Flight, or the LucidSound LS30/40, A50's, G533's, or some other wireless headphone that might also work for gaming. I've heard the LucidSound LS30/40's have great sound quality, but poor build quality and I've never heard of them before, so I'm unsure. The Cloud Flight's are said to have great audio quality, but are missing a ton of features like battery indicator and sidetone. I've heard mixed reviews on both the Arctis 7 and the Siberia 800/840. Some people claim that the audio quality is great, others claim that it is horrible and has no bass. I've heard similar reviews about both the Cloud Flight and the Razer Thresher having either great audio, or horrible audio.. And I've heard of certain wireless headsets like the Arctis 7 and Razer Thresh having an issue with not being loud enough even at max volume? I'm really torn between what to get. :\I'm not concerned with mic quality, just which wireless headsets have the best all-around audio quality, without really heavily lacking in anything like bass or volume. I'm using a Blue Yeti microphone, so I won't be using the mic on the headset anyway. My only headset reference is the Sennheiser Game One's, which I absolutely love the audio quality on, but wish it had more bass for gaming/music and it isn't wireless. Otherwise it's a near perfect headset for me. I've also used the Logitech G933, but I hated the audio quality and thought they were uncomfortable to wear. My price point is 200$.
