  1. I currently run a local FTP server on a old prebuilt machine that I slapped some extra storage in. It more or less works as intended, but I can't help but feel I'm not getting enough out of it, and there are weird side effects to this - transfers sometimes go in "bursts", etc. Is FTP really a proper protocol to be using over LAN, and what would you recommend that would not bring any issues with lower powered machines (core 2 duo, windows 7 etc.) SMB interests me after seeing Linus's 10gbit networking video, but I can't seem to find a definitive answer. Windows/cross platform is a bonus. If its a big enough improvement, I'll consider switching the PC over to a light linux distro (it is also a Plex machine.) edit: Also, if it's easy to set up for my friends, whever they stay over with their rig for a few days, this is a great bonus.
  2. That sounds like the better option then, for sure. This may actually be a significantly better investment. I agree with this. More money can be put into psu/storage/gpu if you grab a prebuilt (never thought I'd be saying this, but times are tough)
  3. I have the 1050 myself, but I can't speak much for the CPU. 4GB ram I don't feel will be enough depending on what you play. What kind of games will you be playing? 8GB is recommended, but its hard in the market's current state (ram and gpu prices have went up high.) Benchmarks for the intel CPU seem to be similar to the AND FX-6300. I have that AMD CPU myself - its dated 2012 and to be honest isn't too great of a pick, but it may work depending on what you'd play. If someone could recommend a better CPU (or leave room for upgrading) it would be great. What do you like to/plan on playing? Also, that storage space isnt gonna be too great, but hey, if thats all you need, go for it.
  4. This will never go down well. I'm more concerned about them having a list of people who knowingly paid to access porn. Those who will be desperate enough will find a way.
  5. No problem. Here is a screenshot of where to find that menu option i found on google real quick (no pcsx2 installed on my work PC) Keep in mind though, obviously, ISOs will need to be ripped from physical discs. You're on your own when it comes to sailing the seven seas. edit: Master Disaster also noted the BIOS, which I forgot. Good luck
  6. I'm not sure how else you would, without resorting to piracy - unless it is available as a PS2 Classic on the PS3 or PS4 PSN store.
