You are a 100% wrong about what commercial use is.

Don't think this whole thing would really be much of an issue at all without that Linus adblock piracy take. LMG messed up, take the L. They made it kinda right, tho I feel like Linus should briefly address their screw up in a video. Only makes sense based on the adblock being piracy video.

Legally speaking, Linus is not in the right.  He's making excuses because that's what a criminal does.   "Well I didn't know!"  "I was just doing it for this!"-Is not going to hold up in court unless the judge and/or others are willing to take a bribe, not saying Linus would do that.  But, ignornace is not an excuse when it comes to a court of law.   Typically, they don't go after home users much anymore when it comes to piracy, but the fact that a business is doing it would make most developers/publishers target the business.  Now, just because Linus does things that are illegal, doesn't mean he'd automatically be sued.  1)  The company who makes the SW would have to decide if they wanted to sue him.  2)  Typically 1-2 jobs are assigned to decide if something would go to court, so even if Linus was in the wrong, if the court decided they have better things to do then it would never see the light of day.  3)  Licensing laws for SW is decided by the developer and/or publisher.   But, they're also decided by governments as they can't contradict laws.  So, it's kind of a complicated process that's both time and moneyu consuming.

That's a pretty darn big assumption right there. That's called I'm an influencer and I think I can get away with not paying. Pretty crazy coming from a guy reprimanding people for using AdBlock. By that same assumption everyone can assume your videos are for educational purposes and so we don't need to pay for them or watch ads.

@LinusTechi strongly disagree with this sentiment. You use the software in your video. A video, which you produce to make money with constant ads for your store (even on the "adfree" floatplane), sponsors etc. That is commercial use and there is no way to sugar coat it.
That said, the dev's webpage is badly designed and doesn't make it clear enough and the drama he used to get you to subscribe to his service was stupid as hell.
I don't think it's justified to be outraged about it - i guess you ruffled some feathers with your hot takes and in the end you corrected a simple to fix error.

Just removing the GPU could be enough to get mean 50 or so FPS in CSGO in low-mid (some dips though). I have one PC with a 200ge and 2x4gb and can hit 70fps mean on CSGO in low-mid setting (Dual Channel has great impact, but the 3000g is just a better 200ge)

I watched Linus's video from a few weeks ago "How bad are these cheap HDR monitors?" and his testing methodology is really flawed.  He used the PMP version of Plex which does not support HDR.  So all of his Plex based HDR comparisons were in SDR....Plex does not support HDR AT ALL on PC.  It will display HDR videos, but they are tone mapped to SDR before they are displayed.  There is not a single version of Plex on PC that displays HDR.  Not the web version, not PMP, not the new PMP and not the windows store version.

Also, to note, even if you plug a pc into a regular HDR tv and see "HDR" tag light up on the tv, its not actually displaying HDR.  It is just first tone mapping, then sending a signal saying that the tone mapped video is HDR to the display.  Which is even worse than displaying straight SDR.

So TLDR, the entire time he thought he was reviewing HDR but he wasn't looking at HDR at all.  Except the Shadow of the Tomb Raider parts.

This video IMO is ultimately against what Linus has been defending, but I understand why he did this.
Neither AMD nor Intel is our friend. At the end of the day, you're giving them your money, so get the best one you can for the money/for your needs. AMD is desperately trying to gain more market share (so more money, more RnD budget etc etc) so their CPUs are cheaper than Intel counterparts, and they perform well. I am personally leaned towards AMD right now just so that if they gain some more market share we'll see a better competition. IMO the i9-9900K (or the i9-10900K) shouldn't be more expensive than a 3900X, but it is. Competition is great for customers. Thanks to AMD, now all i3-i5-i7s have hyperthreading.
I think this video is a result of a "don't forget me" call from Intel. I am not saying he got paid by Intel, but as he said in the video, Intel is really big.  LTT wouldn't want to lose sponsorships or early access to products from Intel. Linus called Intel the premium CPU option, which pretty much means that even if it performs worse than an AMD CPU and costs more, people will buy it. And it might be true for now, but everything can change in a couple of years. This also holds for RnD, and ironing out the bugs.
One last thing (hearing this from Linus made me somewhat annoyed), lack of prebuilts with AMD. Intel (also Nvidia, but not our topic) is/was lowkey forcing manufacturers not to use AMD in their builds often by giving manufacturers exclusive discounts for only using Intel. (AMD v Intel Lawsuit)
Intel is big, and they're not going to go bankrupt anytime soon, and their 10th gen processors seem to be doing good. AMD has a solid product line right now, and hopefully they won't fall behind again.

Honestly, I'm not really surprised by anything I see here.

    - Temps are reasonable at stock. 125W isn't really that hard to cool, especially on a soldered chip with the optimizations they've done, and given how Intel's turbo bins work, it'll run at that power most of the time.
    - It's a furnace with MCE. This is just overclocked skylakeX on a consumer socket, so no surprise there.
    - It beats AMD in gaming by a slight margin. This was true of 9th gen, and they've boosted clockspeeds.
    - It loses to AMD in productivity by a slight margin. This was more extreme in 9th gen, and they've added cores.

I'm a little annoyed by the necessity of a new board, but it's Intel, that's to be expected at this point. Honestly my biggest hope at this point is that we end up with some beefy AF overclocking coolers out of this that can keep Threadripper et al properly cooled on air. In general, this is competition, and that's going to be good for all concerned.

So I've been using my Xeon build for a while, but it started not to POST every now and then and I didn't really want to spend money to fix it, instead, I decided to build a new computer.
I checked Intel first and realized it'll end up being significantly more expensive, especially considering you can get a Ryzen 5 2600 for $229CAN.
    So here's my build:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 3.4Ghz (I am thinking about slightly overclocking it, but I haven't done any overclocking yet and I have yet to have an occasion where I felt like I should overclock it -- I'll work on it once I have time)
CPU Cooler: Stock (I have a Cooler Master Hyper T4 that I used on my old Xeon, but the stock cooler seems to be pretty good)
Motherboard: ASRock X470 Master SLI/AC (I wanted a board with Onboard WiFi, also seems like the reviews are a mixed bag about this -- I haven't had any problems yet and built in RGB is an extra; so is Bluetooth)
RAM: 2x16GB G.Skill Aegis 2400Mhz (Price per GB was significantly less than 2x8GB models)
SSD: 1TB Intel 660p (This was $129.99 at Canada Computers, I was going to go with Samsung 970EVO but I couldn't resist the price to performance ratio. More on this later.)
HDD: 2TB Seagate Barracuda (Cheapest one I could find)
Graphics: EVGA GTX1660 (I considered getting a 2060 -- but it ended up being a tad bit too expensive for me)
Power Supply: EVGA 650W 80+ Bronze
Case: Corsair Carbide 275R Black (I cheaped out here -- they had two options, one with plastic side cover and one with glass, and I went with the plastic one.)
Keyboard: Corsair K68 Red (This only has red backlighting and no GB, it's not a big deal for me as it was cheaper and I still get the light effects)
    Mouse: Corsair M65 Pro RGB
Screen: Acer ED322Q (It's curved, 1080p@60Hz, more on this later as well)
Speakers: Edifier M3200 (Bought them as I thought the screen didn't have built-in speakers but they do; they're horrible though -- These speakers are fine for the price)
They also had a promotion where you get a Corsair Commander Pro (it's apparently worth $70US) for free. I have it, but I didn't even install it, as I'm not a huge huge fan of RGB and I didn't go for RGB Fans/Coolers.
I also initially planned on building the computer myself, but they offered me free installation at Canada Computers so I just let them build it while I was watching. The technician ended up doing a good job. It was also pretty weird at the store, as 4 people bought 2600s when I was there.
I've watched LTT's video about the Intel 660P a while ago, and I knew about its caveats. Honestly, I haven't even considered getting it until I saw it on sale. It was cheaper than getting a 512GB Samsung 970 EVO. So far I haven't had any problems, I have a friend who has a similar build with 970 EVO and we didn't see any real-life difference. (PS: I'm not saying 660p is better than the 970, not even saying they're on par. I'm just saying it's a great option for the price)
In terms of the screen, I wanted a curved one as I have an L shaped desk and I can just place the screen at the corner. This also was on sale, reviews about this one is also a mixed bag and so far I'm really happy. I also wanted to go 1080p as I went with a 1660 instead of a 2060 (or a 1660Ti)
CPU idles around 35C, and hits 65C at full load. GPU also idles around 32C. It's definitely quieter than my old build.

I don't think that you can really put general-pc-building into such a simple spectrum. There are too many subcategories - A Enthusiast Gaming PC can be a Budget workstation. In addition, time also effects those categories - an enthusiast rig from '10 would be budget now.
However, in the vein of gaming, I'd think that $200-$699 is budget, $700-$1599 is mid-range, and $1600+ is enthusiast.
