Considering you have no load on your CPU its supposed to lower clock speeds. If the problem occurs when you are running a game or doing something CPU intensive then come back.

    Ja55ie got a reaction from faze_x7 in External graphics w/ USB 3.1 Gen2 (10gbps)?
Just wanna know if there's any way to attach an external Graphics Card/dock to a system which only has USB Type C 3.1 Gen2 (10gbps). I know it's basically a requirement to have a thunderbolt (40gbps) dock for external graphics cards/docks. Was just curious if there was any loophole to run a graphics card with only a USB 3.1 Gen2 interface?

I have a Vega 64 and a Vega 56 (flashed to 64 bios) in two separate systems, both are blower cards and honestly they are NOT that loud.  Sure they CAN be louder than my 2080 Super and 2070 Super in two other systems but in gaming honestly, they aren't as bad as everyone here wants to make blower cards out to be.  Now, i can make them VERY loud with a synthetic benchmark or manually turning the fan speed up, but in the real world gaming....they just aren't that bad.  Both systems have VERY good airflow and are in rooms that don't get all that hot either, so I'm sure that makes a difference.  And when they are gamed on, headphones are worn and you can NOT hear the cards through the headphones.  They are power hungry for sure and the air being blown out is hot.

For $225 though, I'd take a used Vega 64 over a 1660 Super (same price) every day of the week, so I'd say go for it!  BUT if you have another $75 to spend, I'd step up to a 5700.  I'd still pick the Vega 64 over a 2060 though.

Yeah, I see a kijiji ad for an i5-8400T for $120CAD, which is approx $105US.
I bought my i3-8100 last year for $120!

    No it goes.
Motherboard RGB Header> Case's main RGB connector> Case RGB elements and 2 pre-installed fans> extra RGB fans.
    Like I said it's complicated.
The Extra fans you want to install will connect to the 2 already installed RGB fans. The RGB lighting inside the case and the 2 pre-installed fans will already be connected correctly, all you have to do is install the extra fans and connect them together via the male and female RGB connectors to the pre-installed fan that has the free connector. Then connect the main RGB connector for the case to the motherboard RGB Header.

It's more of a convenience factor. If I'm out of town or something I would still wanna stream media from without having to remember to always haul around a hard drive. If I went with a hard drive I would need one for my phone, my tablet, my pc, my tv, my laptop, etc.

It should suffice, if you are concerned with lag free streams you can broadcast your stream to a cheapo secondary computer that talks to twitch and will cut down on lag. There's an article on it here, https://help.twitch.tv/customer/portal/articles/1988680-broadcasting-with-two-computers. As far as the 8600k vs. 9600k, they're both hexacore hexathreaded CPU's. I'm guessing you're looking at those CPU's instead of Ryzen because of your Z370 board so I won't suggest em. You should go with the 8600k as the 9600k isn't fully compatible with a Z370 board without flashing the BIOS. Save yourself some unnecessary headache and go for the cheaper, extremely similar 8600k. What is your overall budget here btw?

Sorry didn't see your first question there - Yes it's a Freesync monitor. I have Freesynce enabled and I am using DX12. So I uninstalled AMD Drivers and reinstalled them and now the game seems to be working fine at Extreme setting, no more stutters.

Personally, I don't classify using XMP as "overclocking"; I mean, you're just simply enabling settings that the manufacturer of the RAM-sticks has already designed it for and tested that it works. I see overclocking specifically as pushing for out-of-spec settings.

Manufacturers are always going to recommend more than what is required for their card. As long as you have relatively clean power an RX 580 would work. Many people are running 580s on 450W PSUs and are ok.

I would recommend upgrading to a 600w PSU at some point. If anything just for future use.

But definetly with your CPU I would say get a 580. Putting anything more powerful in doesn’t make sense unless you plan to upgrade your CPU sometime soon.

Here's a quick dirty script i came up with:

##Save as media_load_spotify.ahk excluding this line *Launch_Media:: Run Spotify return After you have installed AutoHotKey, you should be able to run this script and press the music button and spotify will load.

You may want to try automating the script, such as adding it to startup or something but ill leave you to decide!

Stock cooler is fine. I would get 1x8gb ram instead so that you have an upgrade path to 16gb and also get a better psu like the CX450 instead. Evga's 400w N1 is pretty crap, to the point where I wouldn't trust using it with any pc.

Use the stock cooler unless you want complete silence. You also don't need additional fans.

Stock cooler is completely fine if you're not gaming. You can always pick up a Cyrorig C7 in the future if you feel you need more oomph for cooling your CPU.

Even gaming, stock will probably be fine. Unless one plans on overclocking, or potentially abusing AVX for many hours on end, the stock cooler is adequate enough where you needn't rush out to buy a better one just to finish your build.

You are correct. if he was going to be doing more intensive tasks, only change I would have recommended was increasing case cooling. But hes really not doing much so everything as is at stock are good to go.

It would be a bottleneck either way; USB 3.1 Gen2 doesn't have the bandwidth for it, which is the main reason Thunderbolt 3 is basically a requirement for an eGPU setup.

It is technically possible, although it will bottleneck pretty hard due to the limitations of USB 3.1 Gen2

EDIT: It will bottleneck to point where it's not even worth it to do it.
