  1. I can see myself having a similar problem there. I currently live between 2 countries and go back in the summer. I'll be using this new monitor out of summer so whenever I go to my other home I have to use a 1080p 60hz IPS monitor. In that case maybe a 60hz 1440p monitor might be best for me now. I also wont be using this monitor specifically for gaming, I will use it for studying and watching movies, etc. I read up that 144hz monitors wont affect movies and streaming content which is probably what I do most currently. Also since you mentioned overclocking, I havent tried overclocing my ryzen 5 1600 yet. It is running at stock settings. Probably will experiment with that too and find what kind of fps difference it makes. Thanks for the help.
  2. Do you think a single gtx 1080 can take advantage of 1440p at higher refresh rates? I was experimenting with r6s last night since it has the option to render the game at higher resolutions and found that it averages about 85-90 fps at 1440p. Would a 144hz monitor benefit frames in the 80-90 region?
  3. I've recently found this monitor on sale, the AOC G2460PG NVidia GSYNC. I can get it for below 300 pounds. Any thoughts on this monitor? It is g-sync and 144hz at 1080p 24 inches. But it is a TN panel.

  5. Thank you guys for the input. Will try to keep looking for a decent 144hz monitor then.
  6. My current rig is a Ryzen 5 1600 with a GTX 1080. I am looking to get a new monitor to replace my current hp pavillion 23xi that is 4 years old. I am stuck at a decision between a 24inch 1080p 144hz vs 27inch 1440p 60hz monitor. Currently there is a good deal on the samsung LC24FG70 which seems to have gotten very good reviews. I am stuck because I am not too sure if my rig would be able to push 1440p resolution max settings for games I play. I play a mixture of MOBAs, withcher 3, R6S, and other single player RPG games occasionally. From the games I play, it probably makes more sense to go for a 144z screen as currently for most of the games im getting more than 100fps for them. But I would also enjoy a slightly bigger screen as I feel like that would be a more visible improvement for me I think? P/S: I have never seen 144hz in action yet so cant tell what I am missing out for now.
