  1. Any drawbacks with these Xiaomi phones? Are they spying on us? Do they die after the first year? Do they break easily or can they stand -20C or lower temps? I'm still trying to decide whether to sell a kidney and go with samsung note 10 or something like pixel 3/a for a decent camera (low-light photos and adequately stabilized video)
  2. Are you implying I have a problem with my lighting? It's perfect!! I relax and create best in comfy low light. Seriously though, the title is a bit of an exaggeration but I'm still in a market for a phone with fast camera, among other features like long support. Also my 5D mkII isn't really great for videos, amateur or not. Cat pics aren't everything I intend to do. ? Hard to try to describe the amount of light since everything is diffused led lighting but I can always take your suggestions and try to find comparisons against my current phone too. The Pixel intrigues me for it's cleaner launcher, but even our carrier shops didn't have those unfortunately
  3. I think I have to confess, I only have a cheap kit lens and a cheap 50mm/1.8. 5DmkII isn't the best in indirect ambient lighting of my mancave and I use that camera more for walking around city, always ready in a bag to pick up with me. During summer I keep it on a table fitted with the 50mm because summer light is plenty enough for cat pics but winter is long an dark But if I were to go back to the topic, maybe I should add that the phone would be used to do other things too. And when it comes to cat pics, a phone that is pretty much always at hand will have a better chance to be ready to capture that moment which might last only a second and a half.
  4. Yeah the Note10.. I visited three shops last weekend, did my rounds and in every shop I always went back to the Note 10, it just feels real comfy in my hand, though the screen extends a bit too far out the edges in my opinion.
  5. Well I have a 5D mkII, it's old but suits my needs well. Though with that I'd need to get it out of the bag, set up lighting, choose the lens... yeah None of the shops I visited have had pixels on display so I don't know how it feels in my hands. But I'll keep my eyes open for that
  6. A While back I got a Nokia 8.1 to use from work but I have to return it soon. I'm not looking forward going back to my old honor 7lite, so I'm in the market now. This Nokia has felt surprisingly good, I like the weight, pictures are decent when lighting is adequate, interface overally feels quite snappy, nothing to complain about a phone that costs 200-350€. Except during the moments when my cats are doing something I want to share with my crazy cat people friends, quick launch isn't quick and focusing time during low light is terrible. I was looking for a Note9 but for some reason they've exited this universe completely. Is there a phone that doesn't cost triple the amount I paid for my car, that can do well in taking pics of dark cats, is not an iPhone but has a long support still?
  7. Have you ran memtest86 yet? If you test one stick at a time and check if it always reports the same sectors as faulty, you could possibly have a faulted solder and you could fix it in an owen. Worked for me a few years back
  8. When you click the processor precentage, what programs come on top of the list? You can check the details tab and sort by CPU precentage there too
  9. Are you saying the sag increases its weight and weight distribution?
  10. After 5 years of BIOS flashed overclocks and constant gaming temps of 85-90C, my old HD6950 resembled a banana. Nothing died, it's still working
  11. Yeah I'd also just enable PBO, check what kinds of temperatures you are getting, then limit the power limits for PBO until you are happy with the temperature. At least on my board the PBO basically removes the limits and pushes everything it can offer without melting For now I disabled PBO from mine because the temperature, voltages and current seemed crazy. I plan on enabling it once I have time to update my BIOS from Zen2 launch BIOS for my board, but before that I have some critical projects I need to finish first, can't risk a failed BIOS update right now.
  12. It's compatible with Ryzen 3000 series if you have the updated BIOS You can try asking for the shop to update the BIOS for you, they usually ask for a nominal fee, depending on where you buy from. It'd save you the hassle and troubleshooting if something doesn't work right out of the box. Another option is to loan an older Ryzen/Athlon CPU, from a friend or from AMD, but that would take more time of course.
  13. Yes Ryzen Balanced power plan is recommended for better idle handling. You will still see high spikes in voltage but remember that the CPU will report the single highest voltage applied to one core and those spikes are usually very short, so if one core spikes to 1.45v and all the others are sleeping, you'll see the 1.45v in Ryzen Master. Same thing with temperature. I have noted that Asus motherboards in particular seem to apply more voltage than is necessary. I'm still hopeful that the quirks of this gen will be tamed eventually but for now we'll just have to get used to seeing this kind of behaviour ?
  14. You don't need it then. It propably includes older network driver now anyways.
  15. Oh wait, you have a driver and your internet is working?
  16. Okay I forgot this thing totally. I remember now downloading a bunch of x470-F related drivers and indeed one of them did not do anything, started up and insta-closed after UAC-notification and it was the LAN driver. But I had done a fresh install of Win10 1903 on my system and it managed to grab a working driver from 2018. Windows update found a newer driver version but you could try updating the driver with local directory and point it to search in the Asus LAN setup folder. Or try googling for Intel I211 Gigabit Network driver 12.18.8.22 (date 10.5.2019 d.m.y), I found only suspicious sites though and from Intel I found versions starting with number 22 and I'm dead sleepy right now. It just seems there's something wrong with the asus installer only, not the driver package itself.
  17. That number doesn't give you issues with your OS install. As far as I know the numbering order is relayed to OS by BIOS and can even change boot by boot basis if you tinker with boot orders and the like but it is not going to cause conflicts. Systems are smart enough.
  18. 1. I'm running that combo 2. 3900X should be fine too 3. I'm not at home right now but I can check later today which driver I have installed but my Windows is the latest build and all systems are working normally. Did you install the chipset drivers already?
  19. From what I know Live 10 can use dozens of cores/threads but performance is going to be limited by the clock speed rather than core count, depending on the amount of tracks in a project of course. If it's still utilizing CPU how I vaguely remember it did, the DAW should run one processing thread per track or parallel chain in a track and it should spread those threads evenly between cores. I'm using 3700X with Pro Tools and it was a huge leap in performance from my old Haswell Xeon 1230v3. Unfortunately I don't have experience with 9700K..
  20. Chances are your CPU sees the 1.6V and is just like "Nnnnope, nope nope nope!" and shuts down in panic.
  21. Yeah I was just thinking it's possible that it would try to run the RAM at wrong timings and voltage causing those errors. Seems like extremely bad luck if you got new sticks with physical fault, but you can do RMA
  22. ?lmao 1. Did you buy the RAM new or second-hand? 2. How did you change back to stock frequency? Just thinking if all the other related settings are back to stock too. If you don't have tinkered in BIOS a lot, maybe worth a try to reset BIOS settings to defaults
  23. Ryzen 3000 series is very fast in terms of the temperature changes, especially if you have PBO enabled. First step could be to check fan/pump settings in BIOS. I don't know aorus motherboards but there should be settings to assing min/med/max values for temp/speed curves and maybe an option to set something like a 2 second reaction time delay so that the fans wouldn't ramp up every time you open a folder. What kinds of temperatures and voltages are you getting with your CPU?
  24. I mean, If I just watch some youtube most of my cores are at sleep or at 200MHz and only when moving mouse or with the periodical video processing one or two cores jump up. Check your temps And check your attitude while at it
