Fire Lantern got a reaction from rukspuks in Why ryzen 1 series have dropped by a lot in resale prices?
Agreed. I have a secondary machine with 1156 socket and trying to buy a 3770 or even a 2700 would cost me more than 200€.
I think it's just because of Intel's marker dominance and that the casual consumer just sees "i7" and thinks it's something good.
The audience for AMD is smaller (or at least was) so both the people and the retailers are forced into selling for more competitive prices to actually get a sale going.
Maybe this will change in the future since Ryzen is giving AMD a lot of new users but it will porbally take the second hand market quite some time to reflect that change.

I know some pretty big open world games, which yes, they don't have ENDLESS worlds, but they are so big, you'll most likely not get round to finishing them.

The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt DOES have a plot, but you don't have to do it. If you really want, you can just do sidequests, or even just explore

Same as Skyrim and Fallout, yet their worlds are a little smaller.

All three of these games can have an easy mode, so you don't need to worry about dying

I've been dealing with some older cards that like to run hot like the Radeon 7000 series and I've managed to get them into a better shape by usually replacing the thermal paste & the thermal pads. But make sure the pads are the same thickness as the ones already on the card! Also while you are taking the card apart, get a can of compressed air and make sure to clean it up as much as possible and get all of the dust out. Double check if all of the fans are working well because there might be some fans that are straight up not working or slogging behind the other fans.

Fire Lantern got a reaction from Saikone in GPU preventing a CPU overclock
Hey, I don't know about the GT 1030 but I came down to the conclusion that it has something to do with legacy bios. In theory an RX 460 apparenlty does not support legacy bios and I don't think that 10XX does either so overclocking the CPU might somehow make the GPU not recognise the bios or something. I have no clue why. I sold the 460 and am going for an aftermarket 7870 which sadly draws more power but should be about the same (a bit better) performance.
I know that Nvidia 9XX GPUs do support legacy bios fully so it might be worth going there and doing a refund on the card if possible.

Mate, I just got an second hand XFX 7870 and jesus christ does this run hot. I've tried adjusting the curve and running at 85% fan speed (jet engine esq level) but after 3 minutes I still hit 80 degrees in fur mark.
