  1. well, common sense may or may not be all that common depending on where you are
  2. How far have I fallen as a result of me having to interrupt the folding for a few hours today, I wonder.
  3. ooh, I didn't know that you can get a pop up on the forum when your badge is awarded

Warnings are different than Alerts 😉 Alerts can be for anything, ranging from awards like badges to essentially a verbal warning where its noteworthy, but maybe not necessarily warning worthy.

  4. doesn't apply unless it's going in different directions on the same piece
  5. and for stuff like that I'd like a ? reaction please
  6. Hey folks,
the end of the year is coming (or has come depending on where you live and what time you're reading it at) and I have to say that I'll be taking a good amount of time off from a large percentage of my online presence for studies reasons.

The hiatus should start sometime after the end of @GOTSpectrum's birthday folding sprint, which I've joined (you too can also join until January 8th), and should last right until sometime in May/June/July (you never know with these things) with at least a quick update, although, in the mean time, I'll still be kinda in touch with some folks through other means.

  7. so, I'm trying to find a good graphics driver to update to since my current version is 512.36, which is, y'know.... ancient

but everywhere I look I see tons and tons of issues, ffs

I just need the damn thing to work

I haven't gotten any issues on the 546.33 studio driver. Are you using the game-ready driver?

to be clear I haven't upgraded yet, it's just from comments from other folks (read: redditors) that I'm hearing of this

Redditors are the kind of people to typically pre-order games and be in the Windows Insider program, and then wonder why half their stuff is broken.

I also kinda think that it's a lot more likely to make a comment when stuff doesn't work rather than when it actually works.

I have consistently upgraded every several major driver releases from 472.xx to 546.33 with no significant issues.

My main reason for the concerns is the fact that I've had to return this model of laptop once already due to a blue screen and subsequent boot looping that started with me unplugging the charger due to full battery while watching videos on hardware accelerated chrome within the first few days of ownership (no, I didn't catch what the error was), and also with my current laptop I've already had another blue screen (though this one was a lot less severe, it only caused a restart), Video_Scheduler_Internal_Error, which was caused by me watching a video on hardware accelerated chrome and loading up a minecraft world or something (which is also why I just turned off hardware acceleration as it had artifacting issues in chrome anyway)

May I ask, what hardware is this? Which OS is this?

Could always try the studio driver. They come certified. Won't be great for gaming possibly, but are guaranteed for stability.

  8. banned for insulting short people
  9. I mean... we're all getting older as we speak. (or type.)
  10. if only you could be so kind and not do the thing that I think you're about to do...
