  1. yes im aware of the "strix tax" at normal prices its about 570 or so ( i would never pay that if im paying closer to 600 ill get a FTW3, however theres a sale rn bringing it down to 550 but the sale is also bringing down other models so im looking around. id love to buy an evga card but im hearing a LOTTTT about coil whine.
  2. 16 years old, first job, not my first pc but first one completely done by me. will do pictures when done for the rgb goopness this forum has been insanely helpful
  3. the only true concern is more of an OCD thing because so far the actual facts check out, those being the strix model is 305mm and my meshify c having max gpu clearance of 315mm, even worst comes to worst i could move a fan.. if only stupid anxiety didnt work this way lol
  4. the xc ultra gaming (im assuming is a small out of the box oc which doesnt matter anyways) is the same price. im fully prepared to buy the strix just curious if there are other options, going to further research. thanks dude
  5. I would like some insight.. I hear EVGA is a solid brand but theres like 8 different evga 2070 supers and im not super familar with this one brand. I of course know asus strix models are good for overclocking. I hear good things about gigabytes gaming oc model.. just looking for a 2070 super that will fit in my meshify c and overclock well and stay at pretty good temps.
  6. I found a guy on pcpartpicker post pics of him getting the card in the black version of my case so I'm sure it will work. Thanks dude
  7. i have 3 intakes and 3 exhausts, so i cant really move it up or down higher i could take it out tho lol rn im trying to do measurements, maybe ill go with an evga card but theres so many different models and idk how overclocking is..
  8. to be frank what im worried about is it not fitting and then newegg having an insane restocking fee... then again even if worst comes to worst removing the fan should fix it i think
  9. I have a Meshify C, thinking about buying an ROG STRIX 2070 Super, its said to be 305mm and pcpartpicker says the case has 315mm of clearance but idk how that factors with fans.. i know for a fact the gigabyte gaming oc model will fit but im not sure how high it will overclock.. what are yalls thoughts
  10. if i only had the 2060s and 5700xt as options id hands down go with the 5700xt, just me. but thats just how much you value the features, i can afford a 2070 super and the marginal fps boost is nice but im just considering if any of the new features would have any use for me
  11. that makes sense. ive ALWAYS owned amd, from my hd 6850 to my rx 480. is nvidia a good value well no... but i have the money and it might have the features i could utilize. i just idk, overpaying for a 2070 kinda hurts but it has the feature set i want. $390 for a 5700xt is very very appealing, but nvenc is so strong and not gonna lie i actually do enjoy some ray tracing ( played on a friends 2070)
  12. The classes available to me are in Adobe sooo...
  13. This is a little bit different because I'm not considering just straight gaming. I know the 5700xt is close when overclocked to a 2070 super , but the 2070 super has quite a bit of OC headroom itself. Seen people push past the 2080. Right now I'm deciding between both gigabyte oc models of each brand, roughly $100-120 difference with some variation in mail in rebates. I have the money to go the extra mile. I'm not well educated on the workload and nvenc advantages to going with the 2070, although I'm about to start diving into programming/video editing/possibly some Photoshop, something in the professional computer department as I'm one semester away from picking community college tech classes. If anyone knows I'd like to know the professional advantages of nvidia otherwise I might just save some money and lose a few fps I guess. I am slightly interested in streaming and recording, not planning but I do like the opportunity.
  14. how long do you think it will take for newegg to restock their 5700xt and 2070supers from black friday/cyber monday. ik you guys dont have an exact date but previous experiences from other years could be useful
  15. when you say last decade u mean last decade of founders cards?
  16. i got this card with a vertical gpu mount ( a third party one that sits it back from the glass) it looks really nice horizontally and vertical its the same temp. but idk im thinking about ditching it all just to get better temps
  17. thanks man. I knew that the founders card would run hotter but I wasnt sure if it being this hot was ok
  18. wheres a temp where i should actually be worried
  19. Bought this gpu because of how beautiful it was, didnt realize it would hit 75c+ constantly, sometimes in the territory of 80c. should i return it and buy an aib? im not too comfortable with it hitting 80c but if thats fine its fine i guess. Not sure what to do tbh
  20. So it's all aesthetic taste. Okay thanks. I didn't know if there were any features the card had that made it stand out. I always knew the FE cards OCd the best
  21. I want to vertically mount a founders edition (with a third party bracket so it's not against the glass , no thermal issues). Noticed the gaming x is similar in price. Other then aesthetics what advantages does the gaming x hold
  22. Will I be able to use my 2070 super on my monitor with adaptive sync
  23. yes thats why this was kinda a poll to see what people would do. im about to just flip a coin lol
