  1. All windows settings are as default when I plugged it in, I also tried plugging it into my Mac with the same result. Do you think that it could be the usb cable seeing as the buzzing changed drastically when I changed the cable. Sorry I’m kind of a newbie to this stuff.
  2. Yen’s i have tried connecting my power source to different sockets and it still doesn’t work. My setup is at the lowest part of the house so I don’t think it’s that either. How do you think I would know if it was a problem with the mic itself or the cables?
  3. So, I recently purchased an AT2020 XLR microphone and paired it with an ISK UMP-1 phantom power unit, which connects to my pc using USB 2.0 cable. Out of the box, I put it through recording tests. in each recording, there is a buzzing in the background of the recording. I have replaced the USB 2.0 going from my power supply into my PC with another identical one. and it made it significantly worse. Do I need a microphone grade USB cable or something? thanks in advance for help on this topic. attached is a recording of the noise it is making Buzzing.aifc
