  1. No but I have two hard drives. I don't know that it'd help though considering I have no issues with any other games on the same drive. I might try it if I can do it without re-downloading though (have a data cap).
  2. Here's the GPU info. Normally I'd assume the downward spikes were when it locked up but I'm pretty sure it locked up much more frequently than those. It's on a hard drive but (as shown in the task manager pic of the CPU) it's not being used much. Little bit of more info: when it freezes the sound actually still plays back smoothly and I can control my character (although I'm basically blind to what he's doing for the next few seconds)
  3. Quick Preface I know what my rig can and can't do, it should be doing perfectly fine with Mafia 2. I know this because it USED to perform very well in Mafia 2 before I quit playing it. I tried to start playing it again and now I'm getting this issue. Rig CPU: G4500 | RAM: LPX 16GB 3000 MHz | Mobo: Asrock z170m Extreme4 running the latest BIOS | GPU: GTX 560 Ti | NO OVERCLOCKS, all drivers appear to be up-to-date. Issue Mafia 2 (from the very first splash screen to in-game) will freeze for 4+ sec. usually. Afterwards it will play like normal (at the expected frame rate, 50+), but only for 1-3 seconds before freezing again. It does this repeatedly. Troubleshooting Attempts (All Unsuccessful) Uninstall & Reinstall graphics drivers | Verified integrity of the cache through Steam | Ran Furmark for ~1 hour to test for GPU and PSU issues | Unplugged everything from the I/O except mouse & keyboard to see if it could've been a DPC issue | Restarted the game after putting all settings at their lowest (except resolution) with PhysX disabled | Toggling between fullscreen and windowed, vsync on & off. Additional Info That May Be Useful This is what the CPU does. The spikes upward are actually when it goes back to normal. This may seem awfully high for many who aren't very familiar with CPU usages in gaming, but trust me- that's normal. The abnormality is when it spikes downward and stays there for a while (that's when my PC is frozen). And yes- it's my PC that's frozen, not just the game. I've also tried a few other games as well: FEAR, Plantera, and Euro Truck Simulator 2 Demo (to test when the GPU is being fully stressed). It appeared to freeze once on Plantera's initial splash screen but that could've just been the game booting up. Outside of that, there were no issues with any of these games. I plan to test a few Blizzard games but don't expect much unusual. I also plan to install a couple audio drivers and reinstall GPU drivers for the nth time but I'm basically out of ideas.
  4. Okay, thanks. I haven't tested yet but I'm almost certain I can work with that in a way that's easy.
  5. I'm using vegas pro but if someone can point me in the right direction using any video editor I'm sure I can probably work with that. This is an example of what I'm talking about. Creating the circle is no problem for me and (although I'd prefer to avoid if possible) I can keyframe if needed. I just can't quite think of how this effect is actually done. Anyone know how to make that "drawing" type of effect?
  6. I just don't like how they were in the Ryzen review. Quite misleading with it and insulted intel in the process. I get that rooting for AMD overall is a good thing (promotes competition and a more free market blah blah, we've heard it a thousand times) but that video was both misleading and unfair to both companies in different ways, probably to avoid hate from all the AMD fans. This is not the Linus that I know. The Linus I know promotes accurate information (even if most of it is basic knowledge) no matter how ugly the truth may be at times. The thumbnails and stuff I don't really care tbh
  7. Wow I don't think I've ever heard Danny scream before
  8. Ass Class Unity Ass Class Syndicate Ass Class 2, revelations, and 4 are probably my favorite though.
  9. ahh yes, the valid skepticism regarding the possibility of getting ripped off due to luck (rather than just not understanding WHAT the site is). That is a certain possibility and that's why G2A has a solution to that with its shield program.
  10. Yeah, I get that. I respect your post for what it is- just figured I'd share my thoughts on the link you gave as someone who's trying to look for another anime.
  11. It's as trusted as eBay. Idk why people still aren't used to it yet, but that's literally what it is. Digital eBay where the keys are obtained in MANY ways (through bundles to resell for a profit usually, but CAN involve stealing as well)
  12. Meh idk if I'd be able to rely on a list like that (for a couple reasons). As an example, They compare a few of the dark fantasy ones but I like them for VERY different reasons from each other than just being dark fantasy, even one of them I don't really like (Attack on Titan... which probably makes me look weird but hey w/e) and the others I couldn't really compare - whether that be about the anime itself or how much I like them, they're all over the place to me. So when I look at something like this it leaves me only wondering about the others. The main reason I watch Code Geass and enjoy it to death isn't because of its politics or thriller aspects nearly as much as the character, his darker nature (and even darker he becomes through his own development while still being human ENOUGH to be able to be invested in his character... reminds me of Death Note actually) choices he has to make, his relationships (not necessarily romantic) with other characters, and the overarching story regarding each character's ultimate goals (which yes, involve politics but even then the character's personal involvement tends to be more interesting imo) So... when I look at those others my only question (which doesn't seem to have an answer that's summarized in the picture) is "Is that REALLY similar enough?" Not to say that they'd be bad by any means, who knows? Maybe I could end up liking them (or anything else on the list) way more than Code Geass (as my example) but maybe that's just the nature of anime. Maybe there's just too much legitimate variety and unique reasons for well known anime to exist that the choices end up being overwhelming and yet, not easily comparable to each other (probably more a good thing than a bad thing). TL;DR - idk mehbee but it seems too different still
  13. Any recommendations for something like Code Geass?
  14. Well outside of used, there's really not any reason to go with anything else (unless willing to pay a bit more for the RX 470). There's good reason why they're the two common ones.
  15. Why exclude the two best performers in that price range?
  16. I know this doesn't really belong here but I'm more comfortable asking here and don't want to make a new thread for a silly question anyway: I DL'd Skate 3, BF Hardline, and NFS Rivals (got a one month trial of EA Access for free). Out of those three, which do you guys think I should beat first?
  17. I KNOW this is a silly question
  18. Gotta love that well respected and accredited anime, Seinfeld.
  19. I haven't had issues until now but now I can't render this video because it's blue screened 4 times (only when I try to render). I don't know how to give more info from the latest dump but here's what I copied from BlueScreenView
  20. When I think back to older titles, the 6th generation (PS2+) is the earliest one I think of when it comes to real time lighting (even if still in its infancy). I do wonder though, did PS1 and/or N64 games EVER have any real time lighting? The only game examples I can think of would've just been baked in (making it essentially just a modified texture unless I'm misunderstanding baked in lighting?). Idk, I'm not exactly an expert in game development but I am fascinated by it (especially when looking at older hardware and what they had to do for the first generation of 3D gaming).
  21. Found a satisfactory conclusion. I couldn't verify whether the GeForce 8xx series is capable of HDMI 2.0, but it's very unlikely that the HDMI cable my uncle uses is 2.0.
  22. I think it's the continually updated engine of WoW's that make it look surprisingly good at higher resolutions. Even my uncle (who is by no means a tech geek) can tell a strong difference in visual clarity between 1080p and 4k. It surprised me as well, to see such a large disparity in clarity.
