  1. I have an odd issue that I have no idea how to track down... Hoping for some expert opinions Every couple of days my system will loose all network connections. It will stay connected to WiFi, but nothing will work. Applications won't connect, pages won't load in the browser, my Plex network is unreachable, etc. The odd thing is that local services won't connect to localhost in my browser either. I know this isn't a router issue. I recently moved and got an entirely new router and network setup, but the issue still happens. The only thing I could think of was that PIA was causing an issue, but after uninstalling the issue still persists. Only a full system restart will fix this. Any ideas? This has been driving me nuts for two months now.
  2. Grr... when I launch the uninstaller nothing happens. When I run the installer to try and repair it (with admin) nothing happens.
  3. Yeah, tried that already. May try a reinstall of the software in a few days.
  4. I used Optane in my system before but recently had to do a full reinstall of my OS. Everything's up and running, Optane is installed in the same M.2 slot. I ran the SetupOptaneMemory.exe installer and everything went in smooth. Now when I go to launch the utility from my taskbar nothing happens. I get the splash screen, then that closes and nothing comes up. Anyone have any similar experiences?
  5. I may be falling behind on the times, but my Windows 10 install is doing something I've never seen before with my user profiles. When any user on the system installs a new application the shortcut that is generated is being added for all users, and deletions carry over as well. For example, user A installs a game. When user B signs on they see the shortcut added to their desktop. User B doesn't use this, so they delete the shortcut. When user A signs in later the shortcut is taken away.
  6. I tried that. I'm able to keep the RAM and the motherboard separate, but the LED headers are not an option. I'd love to be able to independently control the 2 headers separately from the motherboard's built in LED strip, but they seem to be all paired as one. Maybe this just isn't an option?
  7. I have an Asus Strix Z270-E with the two LED headers built into the motherboard. When using the Asus Aura application I can see that the headers are recognized in the calibration screen, but I cannot control them independently of the onboard motherboard LED's. Anyone know of a way to control these independently? I'd love to have my motherboard LED's go through the color fading and have my fans indicate my CPU temperature. TYVM!
  8. Has anybody come across a POST code display (similar to this) that is printed on black PCB? I'd love to have one in my system but all of the cards I can find are printed on ugly colors.
  9. Have any experience with the Phanteks P400S and putting a 240mm AIO radiator on the top? I've seen a few people mention there may be an issue with clearance on the RAM. I'm going to be putting a Strix Z270E board into it.
  10. Welcome! I'm new here as well! Long time Linus fan, first time poster. I've been refining an upcoming build for about 6 months, will finally have the funds to pull the trigger in a few weeks. Excited to join in on all the fun!
  11. Does BOINC (or other distributed computing software) put any unnecessary wear on a SSD? I used to contribute years ago and was thinking of having my upcoming build donate some time while not being actively used.
