  1. I did not see the option, not to mention I like to have the feedback of those who know what they are talking about. That's what the forum is here for after all.
  2. Hi, so I recently bought a GTX 970, it came DOA so I sent it back for a refund and have been looking into a 390 instead (Good or bad idea?), my issue is that I have a 620W Antec 80+ bronze power supply and I have heard bad things about running power supplies at peak/near peak load. I am fairly new to the world of pc building and this was my first attempt, this is my current build http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/sb6rFT . Will it be able to handle adding a 390 in or should I stick with a 970 (from a power standpoint and best to play new games for the next couple years)? Thanks!
  3. Thank you for the help (on both my questions)
  4. It's 2MS and I believe only 60hertz. I have always been happy with 60 fps, the goal is more to keep 60fps for future releases without needing a gpu every time a new title is released.
  5. http://www.newegg.ca/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=390&N=-1&isNodeId=1 Newegg is the site i'm aiming to stick to.
  6. There is a Gigabyte card for $7 more, are they the better option?
  7. Hi, so I am looking at 390 cards and really want black or black and white and the only one i saw (and cheapest) is the XFX 390, are they a trusted brand or should I just go with a bigger brand like MSI?
  8. I bought the SSD for around $50 I just was thinking it would do better than using the HDD as a boot and it was cheap. In your opinion do you see this build lasting for at least around 3 years? I'd like to get 3-4 before upgrading while still having an enjoyable experience.
  9. HI, so I am having difficulties actually ordering the final parts for my future build and just looking for reassurance or last minute tips. What i have here (http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/phBqzy) is as high as i want to go price wise but if there are any better "bang for the buck" options or better versions of parts i'd love to know. I'm trying to keep a white and black build but if its possible to save a decent amount of money off not keeping the trend then it would be okay. Thanks
  10. Firstly, I'm sorry is this is a silly question. I have been looking into a new gpu and I've come to realize VRam requirements jumped a lot since I purchased my current build. I was originally looking at a 4GB card but see the R9 390 has 8GB in my budget. Is something like that going to be needed over the coming years? Does extra Vram usage overflow into your pcs ram somehow or just bottle-neck your game? Thanks
  11. Hi, this is my current build at the minute ( http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/qK6Rxr ) I know it is quite weak but it has done the job very well for only being a 6300 and 7790 running it. I am generally happy with around high settings and I'm not worried about running games at max settings or anything but would like to have no worries when buying new games if I can run them. I don't have a "budget" but I only game in free time as a hobby. Would I be able to upgrade just the GPU until later this year or should I just build a new PC now and stop being cheap? If just a GPU which would be a better bang for the buck? Is 4GB worth the extra money over 2GB VRam at 1080p.? Also, a 970 is about $100 more here is there a huge jump in performance? Would it be worth it for me? Its main use will be indie games like Rust/Ark(Once optimized)/league/Modded Minecraft and some bigger titles like GTA/assasins creed far cry 4/ shadow of mordor the odd time. Thanks
  12. Hi, I am currently in the process of trying to put together a new gaming PC. After a lot of browsing this is what I came up with ( http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/Fxn77P ). Now, I am hoping to stay at or preferably under this price but want a system that can run games on high possibly ultra settings at a decent fps. This is my current build ( http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/qK6Rxr ) I'm trying to salvage what I can off it as I believe things like the cooler, ram, PSU are really all I need for now. I have a laptop for my daily school work and any CPU demanding programs and only need this desktop for gaming. Also, I was wondering if I could get away with replacing the motherboard and graphics and OC the FX 6300 save a bunch of money and still have a okay gaming experience. (which GPU/Motherboard if this is viable) I am Canadian as well, for pricing. Thanks a lot!
  13. Hi, I'm currently in my final year of highschool and in search of a laptop for school and some light gaming (League of Legends) i'm not looking for a desktop replacement but something reliable with a good bang for the buck. I'd like to spend under a thousand and lower the better but willing to spend a bit more for something special. I have a desktop where I do my real gaming or anything real demanding but a few things I would like are a nice screen (atleast 1080P), and something that can handle light multi tasking. Thanks for any ideas, sorry if this is in the wrong section.
  14. Hi, sorry if this is in the wrong section. I am looking to sell my PC and I do not have a clue how much to ask for it. It is only 3 months old and is still very clean/dust free. These are its specs: Processor AMD FX-Series FX-6300 3.5GHZ Hard Drive 1TB SATA III 7200RPM Optical Drive 1 24X DL DVD+/-RW Drive Graphics AMD Radeon HD 7790 / 1GB DDR5 Audio Sound card - Integrated Ethernet Gigabit Ethernet Power supply Antec 620W 80+ gold OS Windows 8.1 64bit Memory 8GB Corsair vengeance 1600 ( 2x4) Cooling Corsair H60 hydro series Case This pc here has the same Case as mine, i just added another blue led fan on the side. http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883258054 I do not know if anything else is needed. Thanks. PS. If this is in the wrong section can you tell me where to move it too.
  15. I can't hear the pump running, mind you the fan on it is extremely loud. I think it has to be the pump I just didn't know if the hoses would heat up so fast without any water movement. Thanks for the help everyone, I guess it just needs to be replaced by the sounds of it. Had a 30 day warranty, about 60 days in it decides to do this lol
