  1. I dont think this is the culprit, as both of my m.2 drives have well over 1tb free. My system only having 32gb of memory, even if the dump size was somehow double that of my memory, it should still be fine I have selected the "Automatically manage paging file size for all drives", so I don't suspect that is an issue, either. Never played around with this or thought I needed it, unless windows somehow has this enabled by default, I also don't think that this is the culprit. Just walked through the housekeeping portion of that guide, though no change is observed, I still freeze/crash when using an m.2 drive. Do yall need the LTTForumsComputerInfo.txt file? I can reconnect one of my HDDs to the 2nd or 3rd sata port (as to not interfere with the m.2 lanes or whatever) and move the paging file (and the dump files to via 'system properties' -> 'startup and recovery' as well?) I am quite busy today, though I should have some free time on the tail end of tomorrow, I should be able to try this out then.
  2. Here is a list of steps and events that I have done and have happened: Remove all sata drives Reinstall samsung nvme ssd (top m.2) Reinstall samsung magician Run samsung magician - Both short S.M.A.R.T and short scan returned normal Run cod: - Crash ≈9 minutes into first game Move samsung nvme ssd (bottom m.2) Run cod: - Crash ≈2 minutes into first game - Clock read 10:42am (12/23/23) at time screen froze Run synapse tool on reboot - Attached here is that report .zip Run `perfmon /report` after synapse tool - Performance and resource monitor app was open for 10+ minutes, in spite of this, it just said "Collecting data for 60 seconds..." - All options under the `file` menu were disabled except for the exit option? Attached here is a screenshot of that. Not sure whats wrong with it? Im not really sure how to progress past here. In the windows folder there are still no .DMP files and no Minidumps folder. In the event viewer, apparently nothing happened between 10:40 and 10:47, which is a damn lie, as the clock froze at ~10:42 and the logs at 10:47 are from when I restarted the PC. Regardless, here is an event viewer log thing that can be looked through, maybe it will provide some insight that I am unable to gleam?
  3. Forgive me, I haddn't read the BSOD instructional you had linked. Since moving to this older 500gb drive, ive not had it crash any more, so running it now would be useless (which is why I didn't read through it yet). When I said that no dump files were created, I meant that there are never any MEMORY.DMP or minidumps in the windows folder for me to try and analyze (or have analyzed)
  4. I left a pcpartpicker link with the full specs attached, that can be found here. The system is running an i7-8086k paired with a Gigabyte Z370 AORUS GAMING WIFI (rev. 1.0) motherboard, an RTX 3080, 32gb of Corsair's Vengeance RGB Pro 3200mhz memory (not running with XMP) powered by an rm750x PSU. I have 2x 2tb m.2 drives that arent working in addition to a 500gb samsung 850 evo SSD, and two seagate HDDs, a 2tb and an 8tb.
  5. Yes. This was one of the first steps I took when this started happening. Running each of their drive checking options (there were like 3 or 4) told me that everything was fine. Yes, I had a 2tb hdd in the sata0 port and an 8tb hdd in the sata1 slot. I installed these ages ago and mostly use them for backups and cold storage. Just for the sake of a sanity check, I will retest your #2 there, but this did persist regardless of the m.2 slot I used. Originally I had the TEAMGROUP SSD in the top m.2 slot. When I went to replace it (which also reported good with crystalDiskInfo), I started by installing the samsung drive into the bottom m.2 then removing the TEAMGROUP SSD. Through the course of my trying to troubleshoot this issue, I did swap it to the top slot, though to no effect. When I had it in the top slot, the sata0 port *was* populated. In the morning I will remove all other drives, and try using just the samsung m.2 in the top slot and report back. Currently, when my PC freezes/crashes, there are no dump files created (additionally, there is seemingly no relevant logs in event viewer, at least none that I am able to find) Regardless, like I said, will walk through your recommendations in the morning and post an update with the findings.
  6. Hi friends, I'm back with another random and obscure issue that I've not been able to find anyone else having. A while back, just before starfield launched, I upgraded the PC that I built ~2019. Threw in 32g of corsair memory and a shiny new 2tb m.2 drive. After about ~70 hours into starfield, I would get seemingly random BSOD issues (see this thread I started here). I managed to figure out that it was related to the SSD. No idea what was wrong, but I think the conclusion that someone (either here or on reddit, I forget) helped me come to is that there was some issue with the windows xbox (or gamebar, I forget which exactly) services was trying to use it wrong, or expected it to be some xbox specific thing. Strange, I know, but whatever. I ended up replacing that SSD with a Samsung 970 evo plus, which produced the same BSOD error until I installed the Samsung NVME drivers from their website. Once I did that, the issue was seemingly gone, which is great! Well, apparently not. Just recently, following an update to cod: mw3, I started getting a really weird crash (which sucks, since that is what I've spent a large portion of my free time playing recently) Things in the game would just... stop working? then eventually freeze my whole PC, requiring me to hold the power button to reset it. Super weird, and it was contained to mw3, so I figured that the issue was an mw3 issue and not a me/my pc issue. There were one or two people who said they had the same or similar issues over on reddit, but I couldn't really find any similarities between the reports. Because this crash thing, whatever it is, would crash my whole pc, getting normal screen recordings was seemingly impossible, as they would all stop before or right around when it would crash (I assume OBS was just never able to save the recording). I managed to get a recording with my phone, that can be found here (skip to about 14:56. Prior to this its just normal gameplay) Fast forward to tonight, I was taking a shower and trying to logically think about the bug, and maybe MacGyver my way into a solution. I remembered the previous BSOD issues I had had, and wondered if this was similar? Thinking about it, it somewhat made sense. Random things in the game just stopped loading, maybe the SSD was somehow just... not sending data or something? idk, but I did have an old 2.5in 500g Samsung sata SSD lying around. I installed it and removed my m.2 SSD, reinstalled windows, reinstalled cod, discord, vivaldi, and a whole host of other things I use daily and it has seemingly stopped! Previously I was lucky to play for more than ~30m without it crashing (though it was inconsistent, sometimes it would happen instantly and other times it wouldn't happen in a whole ~60m long match). Today, though, I've managed to work my way through 6x ~45/60m games without it crashing! I'm unsure if this is just good luck, and it still may happen or not, but I'm hopeful that its solved. But, this leads to my actual question: What the actual freak could be causing this? My (somewhat) self educated mind thinks that my PC just doesn't like m.2 SSDs, but that doesn't make a whole lot of sense, really. Right now I just have 2x unused 2tb m.2 SSDs, and only a 500g SSD in my PC, which Isn't ideal. So what can I do to further troubleshoot this? Does anyone have any insight into this issue that maybe I don't? On an unrelated journey through the internet, I recently stumbled upon this dual m.2 to sata SSD thing. I think its meant for NASs or something, but I'm unsure. So, is it worth buying this and seeing if my PCs apparent allergy to m.2 SSDs is remedied by using this adapter/thing? I mean, I wouldn't mind using it in either JBOD or raid 0 mode, and having a 4tb SSD available. I don't care about redundancy, really. A current list of my components can be found here.
  7. Yep, You've got the same username on both sites I figured I'd cast the net and see if I could gain some insight from one community that I couldn't from the other. Well, Ill continue using just the Samsung drive for the next week, but for the past ~6 hours I've been using it somewhat heavily without any BSODs In the event that my system remains stable, how will I want to proceed? Would I just reinstall the teamgroup nvme? And will the samsung nvme drivers that I installed work for (or maybe negatively interfere with) the teamgroup drive? Since prior to installing the Samsung nvme drivers, I got a BSOD with just the Samsung drive installed but none since I installed the Samsung nvme drivers, I'm wondering if maybe the issue with the teamgroup drive was also driver related? If that is the case, since I am unable to find any teamgroup nvme drivers, how would I go about solving that issue?
  8. Ok, here is an update: The samsung nvme drive came today. I installed it, reinstalled and setup windows again, and instantly got another BSOD when I tried playing a gamespass game. I poked around samsung's website for some drivers and/or firmware update for the drive. I found their nvme drivers and installed them and havent gotten a BSOD since (~3 hours of actual gameplay, when previously I was unable to get ingame) With all of this said, I have yet to reinstall the teamgroup drive. Will the samsung nvme drivers interfere with the teamgroup drive? and if so, should I also try and find the teamgroup nvme drivers? On their website I was only able to find windows 7 drivers, so I dont even know where I would look for them.
  9. ATM I do not have another SSD, but I did just order another (different) SSD. Best buy says that the new one will arrive Tuesday. In the event that this one is faulty, I will try and reach out to TeamGroup and see if they can repair or replace it. In that event, my hopes arent too high as I removed the "warranty void if removed" sticker when I installed its heatsink. And in the event that the SSD isnt faulty, I suppose I will continue trying to debug this.
  10. Appears completely normal, nothing unexpected in the app. I exported the report and uploaded it HERE. This excerpt here makes it seem like all is fine: It's a 2tb T-force CARDEA Z44Q, model number TM8FPQ002T0C327. Its store page is HERE. The download software button on that page just takes you to their help section. In their downloads section, if you filter the downloads to their T-FORCE SSDs, none of the options seem relevant. There is a windows 7 driver, an install manual, and a firmware update tool for their z340 SSD, which im not sure is compatible. That downloads section can be found HERE.
  11. While I was poking around Hard Disk Sentinel, I came across the "information" tab while I had my SSD selected, and every time I click the "Short Self-Test: Supported, Click to start" the app freezes for a couple of second then the computer blue screens with the same WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR
  12. Since a bit after the launch of starfield I've been having seemingly random BSODs, all of which seem to be WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR. Some of the crashes don't even produce a blue screen, they seem to just corrupt what is on-screen (see THIS video clip I was able to take, skip to about 1:50). It seems to be happening in all games, though some more reliably than others. I can play multiple matches of MW2 just fine, but on payday 3 for instance, I usually don't get past the game's menus before it crashes. I was able to get both the minidump and the MEMORY.DMP from the crash in the earlier linked video HERE (Used mega.io to upload them) When starfield released, I enabled reBar support, Above 4g decoding and XMP in my bios, all of which I have since reverted in hopes of solving this issue. I played ~70 hours of starfield according to steam before these issues appeared, so I don't think these settings are related. Regardless, they are disabled now. I also JUST completely wiped my SSD and reinstalled windows. A full list of my current components exists HERE. I know it isnt the most balanced system, ive been a bit inconsistent with upgrades. It was built by me. I have used XTU to undervolt the CPU (since about 2019, this was not a new change). I reverted to stock and uninstalled XTU with no luck. I tried reseating my memory and SSD, as well as using canned air to blow out the small bit of dust that was inside. Neither of these had any effect. I that this could be a CPU hardware issue, due to the nature of the BSOD code and the fact that the dmp files have 0x124_16_GenuineIntel__UNKNOWN_IMAGE_GenuineIntel.sys listed as the failure_bucket_id, but I can run prime95 for multiple hours without issues.
  13. Ill preface this with a bit of personal info. I currently live with my mother in an apartment in a not so populous town, so the internet options here aren't super great to begin with. Prior to living here, I was young enough that internet didn't really matter to me. Whilst living here, Ive taken up PC gaming, and have built my own pc which I'm quite proud of (i7-8086k, rtx3080, 32gb memory). The problem that I'm having is, and ill be blunt, the internet here *sucks* I currently use my phone's hotspot, which thankfully has unlimited 'high speed' data, with a throttled hotspot. I switched to using my hotspot around the time that covid first popped up. Prior to this, I got internet through my apartment, and it just was not sufficient. Calling it internet is a stretch. During peak, and sometimes off peak times, it would fail to load simple websites, and gaming online was out of the question. My problem, and the reason that I'm here, I want better. When I play online games such as COD that I have a constant 200+ ping, and I find myself measuring game downloads in days rather than hours. Granted, ive somewhat gotten used to the slow internet, but I want better. My question is this, what are my options for internet? I am really hoping for a magic bullet of sorts. I am fairly up-to-date with tech stuff, and I've gone down all of the roads that I know of to try and get better internet. The biggest problem is that our landlord doesn't allow any modification to the building (Im 99% sure this is their exact wording) so things like getting fiber built to me and installing a satellite dish are out of the question, same for starlink, since afaik it requires stuff being installed onto the roof.
  14. Shouldnt be any compatibility issues, but unless the monitor is on NVidias freesync approved monitors, you will have to deal with normal vsync
  15. So i dunno much about hard drives, just though id put that right up at the top. Anyway, i was gonna play some bo2 zombies ( Loved it back in the day ) and couldnt get it to work ( Crappy internet and not being able to connect to the servers ), so i found a client that let you play it offline, and all my problems were solved! Untill i wanted to play multiplayer ( vs bots or somthing, i dunno lol ) so i downloaded another client that did multiplayer offline, Sweeeet, untill i tried it out and it totally didnt work, so i downloaded their file checker, to check if any of my bo2 files got messed up ( steam took most of the day before downloading it ) and it crashed with an error code similar to this ( https://github.com/Pryaxis/TShock/issues/1238 ) ( I dunno what Pryaxis is but they had the same error lines or whatever so google pulled it up when i googled my error code ) and the last comment says " As a footnote to your issue, CRC errors are filesystem related. It means the filesystem entry in your filesystems metadata doesn't match the file and your system is in quite a lot of danger of corruption if not fixed. Re-logic world files do not have any data integrity checks built into them (apart from a magic), and cannot check themselves for consistency. It would be pertinent to do a chkdsk /f as soon as possible. " and because i was having some issues with the drive previously, ( Like when i was in windows file explorer, in the root, it would take like 15/20 seconds to load all 8 of the folders, and every now and then the file explorer would just stop responding for a solid 30/40 seconds ) ( its a 1tb wd drive btw ) i thought wth, i might as well devote an evening to mabey trying to fix my hdd. And i did some googling i found someone made a chkdsk gui that makes it a little easier than messing with the command. i ended up using the first gui on this site https://www.raymond.cc/blog/running-a-check-disk-with-an-easy-to-use-interface/ and selected the correct drive, i have 3 total, and let it run. [Inser pic here] Six hours later ( i waited because i know that eta estimates are usually really high when they start off ) and it says ( i think anyway ) 800hrs, or a little more than 33 days remaining. Is this right or is my hdd like super F***** or whats up with this. the system its self has the following specs i7-8086k @5ghz RTX 2070 16gb ddr4 3200 memory 2 hdd's one wd one seagate, both 1tb 1 ssd samsung 500gb 750 watt psu
  16. How do i check if the pump is dead, and will corsair replace it if it is dead, and in warranty still?
  17. So a buddy of mine said prime 95 would explode his pc, so mr me was all like heh, lemme dl it and see, and i left it on for like half an hr on accadent, oops, its now at 100c, so i killed it from task manager, deleted it, and shutdown my pc. Few mins later, boot up, and straight to 100c, so i goto the intel extreme tuning utility ( i only mess with the basic tab, never touched the advanced tab ) and drop the stuff down below stock and STILL 100C. So i shut down and goto the bios bc idk, i wanna fix it. And the bios reads 90c, like WTH? So i then unplug it, goto bed and wake up just now to boot it up, instantly 60c, and not 5 mins later, 100c AGAIN?? BRUH... What do i do tech gods? Plz yall help me. I-7 8086k H100i V2 16Gb ram 750 watt psu RTX 2070
  18. Ok, so i just dropped a bunch if $$ on borderlands 2, plus all of tha dlc on steam, loaded it up, did as i usually do, put everything to max and hit play! Worked great, 60fps! Untill i needed to use a menu, any menu. As soon as i would start to move the mouse, the whole game, even the osd with my cpu/gpu util and temps, freezes, only to quickly catch up when i stop moving my mouse. Weird part is, only on 1440p and 4k? Not on any other res, and i have a pretty big screen, so any lower and it looks like a minecraft painting. I checked, latest mouse/gpu drivers, vsync off, lowering my polling rate, and i have no clue what im doing wrong. I have an i7 8086k, and a gtx 1060 6gb (ik its a bit of a bad combo, i got the 8086 free) With 16gb of ddr4 3200 memory.
  19. Ok, so ive been a part of #pcmr a month or 2, and coming from xb1 s, its pretty great! But (i feel so dumb sayin this) but i kinda dunno how to make friends in pc... Like when i came fr ps3 to xb1, i got cod bo3 (the newes one at da time) i just hopped of 4 a bit each day and met now ppl, and eventually new friends. But on pc, bo4 and fallout 76 too, no one seems to talk ingame? Like i would love to maie new friends, but i dunno how... And suggestions asto how i can go abt doin it? (Fml)
  20. Alright, just finished building a pretty good gaming pc, and needed to load windows onto it. A friend of mine gave me his windows 10 usb, and I really thought that when installing it, I hit windows 10 pro. Now when I look at my computer it says that it has windows 10 enterprise. I've read that I can change it to windows 10 pro just by activating it with a windows 10 pro key, is this true? or do I have to reinstall windows with windows 10 pro? figured id just ask in advanced, thanks in advanced!
  21. Ok, this is my build rn, https://pcpartpicker.com/user/thedemonspawn56/saved/4BPFt6 im definitely thinking about doubling the ram and get a gpu (duh, i just didnt have the budget for it at first). At first, i wanted a gtx 1070ti, and now ive been going between a bunch of options, the 1070ti 1080ti or get all involved in rtx. I want to game at 4k and do a bunch of vr. Ive seen a few rtx 2080 ti benchmarks, and at 4k... Dammmnnnnnn, but i dunno if its worth $1200, any opinions? Also, anything wrong with my build, or any other upgrades i need/sould want? Also, i got the cpu for free through the intel giveaway!! And a bunch of the parts pretty cheap on sale, but they were all new parts, havent messed with used parts yet, bu i am SERIOUSLY thinking about getting a used gpu. Any help is appreciated!
  22. Ok, will the NZXT - Kraken X62 Rev 2 ( https://pcpartpicker.com/product/2RdFf7/nzxt-kraken-x62-rev-2-982-cfm-liquid-cpu-cooler-rl-krx62-02#viewImagesv) cool my i7 8086k cpu? And if so, could i think about overclocking at all?
  23. Alright, this is my buld sofar, ( https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wy8Rw6 ) And im about to buy the last part, my gpu, the gtx 1080ti... But i talked with a few ppl who really think that raid tracing and the rtx lineup is gonne be the next best thing since rgb... And tbh, the price dont bother me too much. And i WILL NOT preorder, no matter what, but my question is, should i get a gtx 1080ti right now, or just wait it out to see how the rtx 2080ti does? Also, its not the last part, i still need the hue 2 rgb kit, amd a few ssd's and such, but you get the point.
  24. So, im 17, and just bought a 43in 4k tv, ive had an xbox 1s since it released, and i want to ascend to the realm of the god(lol). This is my build, https://pcpartpicker.com/user/thedemonspawn56/saved/HXkKZL Could it do 4k, and of so, what fps? Also, is there any way that i could change it to fix anything you guys ( tha experts) see wrong with it? Also, im preordering bo4 when it cokes out, could i do that at 4k? If not, how low res would i need 2 drop it to ta get 60fps?
  25. What wattage would ya reccomend for overclicking? Is 500 good?
