  1. iirc the thermal performance was extremely poor on the 4770k and they had to rerelease the 4770k as the 4790k with a bunch of fixes for the temperature issues, where are you getting these numbers from? silicon lottery doesnt post their binning statistics for the 4770k
  2. Are you recording in h.264 HEVC format? that might cause extra stress Theres no upgrade path for your PC unfortunately, your ram, processor, motherboard were all the end of the haswell / ddr3 generation. There would be zero benefit from upgrading to a 4790k, which is basically the same as your 4770k. The SSD, GTX 770 and monitors would be reusable ofc You could try it, but the 4770k does not overclock very well. If you feel like building a new system someone here could help you out, I would definitely suggest a Ryzen build for your use case.
  3. hey welcome to the forum and thanks for your post, kind of surprised they didnt just add more ram so you could load more resources onto the ram instead of jumping up directly to SSD storage. Seeing as 16gb or RAM is becoming very standard and cheaper, wouldn't it make sense to make more ram hungry games instead of relying on supplying ram faster?
  4. So the new console is going to cost like $600 edit: at that price point just build a PC.. could be a boon for PC gaming
  5. Hey thanks another user pointed me towards your software, solved my problem. I have a Gigabyte Z370 AORUS Gaming 5 (rev. 1.0)
  6. Yes that solved it. Im going to donate to the dev, thanks again I will mark as solved
  7. dude. thank you so much
  8. 100% without a doubt go EVGA every time for video cards. Their customer service and warranty is the best in the industry.
  9. Hi, just installed two new noctua PWM fans, I have a Gigabyte Aorus Z370 Gaming 5 motherboard. My BIOS recognizes the fans and I can adjust the speeds manually or sync them to different temperature sensors on my motherboard. My goal was to sync the fans to ramp up with my video card, but it appears that the PCIE_16X temperature sensor doesn't work properly (or not how I want it to) because it reads consistently around 30-45c even when my video card is temping at 70-75c. Does anyone know of a software workaround to this? I tried speedfan but couldn't get it to detect my fans, I noticed some other people having issues with gigabyte motherboards and speed fan. I tried the gigabyte SIV software but it only appears to give the same options as already included in the BIOS. Im looking for a software to try that will let my sync the speed of the fans to the temp of my video card. thanks for any ideas,

  11. I'm a little bit triggered as I write this so take that into consideration, but hear me out. I ordered a chest freezer from the best buy online store, This was at 4PM this afternoon. Delivery was not specified only that the "earliest" I could receive it was May 4th, I figured alright might as well order now and itll get here when it gets here. A little bit later I was texting my brother about the chest freezer he had which I thought was the same as the one I ordered which was a 5 cubic ft one but instead he has a 7 cubic ft. So I figured, hey I'll go back, its only 6PM and cancel the order and reorder the larger size. Nope, there is no option to cancel. It says to email, call or web chat to cancel. So I figured, hey this is pretty straightforward I'll use the web chat. They asked me what my order number was and name and billing address etc which I provided dutifully then without even skipping a beat just told me that the order could not be cancelled. I said what do you mean it can't be cancelled I ordered it like 2 hours ago and they said there was nothing they could do. I would have to wait for delivery and then return the item. I figured ok thats kind of insane, this order isn't even being delivered for like two weeks (at the "earliest"). I will call them then. Except that can't even get through, their customer service call center had a 2 hr wait. So I went back to the order page and decided to type a long email out to them detailing everything that had happened and could they please just cancel this order. I pressed send and it took me to a login page to log into my best buy account, I don't have one so I made one and when I finished logging in, my email had been deleted. So thats the story of how I bought a chest freezer from best buy.
  12. if you could kill children the game would probably get banned entirely.
  13. use our community psu tier list, otherwise great build.
  14. I went from a 1080 to a 2080, its a noticeable bump. But I also switched to gaming at 1440p if youre itching to spend money upgrade your video card. the 8700k is still great for gaming
  15. I put your specs into the seasonic wattage calculator and it calculated a load wattage of 382W. I would say you should target a 500-550W PSU or better. I have no experience with SFF builds, I think corsair makes a good lineup. You can also check out our community PSU Tier List for suggestions on PSU's
  16. thats nice to hear thanks for the follow up
  17. probably last pass but google is so damn convenient...
  18. Is it overheating? what kind of temps do you get when its under load? also your power supply kinda scares me
  19. here is a great list of software for you. https://www.rankred.com/top-10-most-expensive-software-in-the-world/
  20. how are we supposed to help with the lack of information you provided us man
  21. definitely seems like your igpu is working fine but your dedicated gpu is having issues. does the artifacting happen right away or does it take awhile in games? (may be overheating)
  22. he means did you turn on the xmp profile in your bios for your ram
  23. Just so Im clear, your ram is fine running at 3200mhz CL16? then I would just leave it. In my opinion based on what ive seen, after about 3200mhz the returns on higher ram speeds start to diminish rapidly. the difference between 3200mhz and 3600mhz will be unnoticeable difference in real world apps, nice rig though
  24. if you press the power button and nothing happens you have a power problem check your power supply is turned on check your power button is plugged into motherboard check your power supply cables are firmly connected to motherboard (both 24pin and 8 pin) recheck all components are seated properly if everything else fails test with a new power supply
