  1. I would run memtest86 to test for bad RAM. possibly need to replace. if it passes ok then reinstall windows. if still having issues after the reinstall you know its hardware for sure.
  2. the 5700xt is in the same ballpark as a 3060ti - the above video benchmarks and compares alot of mid range graphics cards against the 3060ti - especially the 5700xt. I would give it a watch and see what you think - its pretty difficult to get a 3060ti right now due to stock issues edit: you know the other thing that noone mentions is that Nvidia cards have much better driver and game support than AMD cards and are supported with updates for longer periods of time and have better software like geforce experience etc - something to consider
  3. couple things 1. obligatory - pick a better PSU from tier B or above use the psu tier list 2. Can this system run Warzone at 120-144fps consistently? at 1080 and if you monkey with the settings a bit - yes definitely 3. Is this an appropriate price for what I've built? seems a bit expensive to me at $1670 CAD and $1300USD I would wait and get a 3060ti or 3070 instead of the 5600xt - the new models are similar price point and much better 4. Will this equal/outperform the PS5/XSX? yes it should
  4. poor guy he seemed like a nice nerdy dude, rip
  5. ive heard that people are seeing massive increases in performance from the geforce gameready driver
  6. sounds really weird. when you press on/off switch the capacitors should charge and lights should come on for a brief moment does this happen? if everything is plugged in properly and youve reset the bios and there is nothing wrong with the cord or outlet then something is dead. do you have another power supply you can test with?
  7. pop the watch battery out for a minute and put it back in to ensure you are reseting it properly. is your power button plugged into the motherboard or did it come loose?
  8. psu: MSI MPG A850GF, 850W PSU might change to whatever since its not visible if you do go for your original build plan I would recommend switching out this MSI power supply with one from the PSU Tier list, Tier A
  9. for a cheap wow build look for a ryzen 2nd gen processor, like a 2600 or 2700 and an rx 570, 16gb of ram a good case and power supply and a ssd
  10. I think it means 22lbs total, it might work it might not. I have a VESA mount made by artic cooling and its waaay more robust than this one. I would look for a better one
  11. yeah easily, just go into bios and enable the xmp profile after you install the ram
  12. Generally they said that the LG 27GL850 performs and looks better, but the viewsonic panel is pretty damn close for almost half the price. I would go for the viewsonic and put more money towards your CPU/RAM upgrade If I were you, edit: theyre both IPS panels so theyre going to look amazing compared to an LCD anyways
  13. 8600k is 6c/6t 3.6ghz-4.3ghz 9600k is 6c/6t 3.7ghz-4.6ghz you literally own two 8600k's now lol. Did you switch your motherboard too? because you should probably reinstall windows if you did.
  14. totally normal, modern cpus are smart enough that if it has thermal and power headroom it will overclock itself safely to increase performance. its perfectly normal
  15. get an rx 570 would blow that 950 out of the water
  16. are you related to linus at all? I think it should be ok plug it in and try
  17. Just curious, why such a focus on boost clock? most workstations should prefer more cores/threads. What are you running on it?
  18. Do you have a SSD? that would be my #1 recommendation, get a ssd and put your windows installation on it
  19. I wonder this sometimes when I run my huge excel sheets and they chug away saying calculating... 12 threads...
  20. Yeah I can agree with this mentality from the general public. Their tablet or phone doesn't just randomly stop working or lose the display or whatever, so why should their PC. the problem is, and you pointed it out, is that unless the manufacturer has total control over the OS, hardware and I/O devices (like apple) then there are simply going to be glitches. Windows 10 is the best and easiest version of windows ever and lots of people still have lots of different issues. But thats what happens when there is literally millions of combinations of components and I/O and display devices available to you.
  21. reset bios to defaults and if it doesnt go away I'd be surprised @CloaxxT
  22. haha you'll check the power button every time now. we all learned the hard way.
  23. yea build looks good, if a bit overkill for the games your dad plays though.
