  1. Thank you very much, I should have known that there were such devices, that looks like it may in fact be my best option.
  2. Thank you very much for your replies, I appreciate it. I’ve just activated Remote Desktop in Windows, would this be an acceptable solution for controlling both computers from my primary pc?
  3. I recently inherited a pc from my best friend, who has passed away suddenly. I have her pc, which I had built for her, now setup with a clean install of windows 10 Pro, and in my name. I have two tethered keyboards, but was just wondering, if I bought a wireless keyboard, could I use it for both pc’s, if I use 2 unifying receivers, one in each? I have a wireless MX Master 2S, and if I also purchased an extra unifying receiver, would this mouse work for both pc’s. The mouse, underneath, already has options for up to 3 pc’s. Thank you in advance for any and all replies.
  4. Okay never mind, I’m a dumbass, but I finally got it. Thank you again for your replies.
  5. I tried putting the M.2 in my pc, and it’s overriding my M.2 as the boot priority. I reset the boot order to boot off my M.2, but it’s still being overridden by her old one.
  6. I’m totally lost, I did a clean install, but I still end up at the start screen for my friend requesting her password. I have no idea how to reset the password, without access.
  7. Thank you very much for clearing that up, I appreciate it, I decided to do a clean install on the main drive M.2, and preserve all the important information on the secondary drive. It’s setting up right now.
  8. One thing I’m not clear on, and I know I’m missing something obvious, but how can I reset the password when I can’t get access, since I don’t know have access to her email or phone?
  9. Thank you very much for your replies, I appreciate it very much. Good to know it’s not that complicated.
  10. Hi, My best friend has passed away very recently, and I had built her a top of the line gaming pc, so I inherited it after her death. The pc is of course password/pin protected. I’m not a hacker, and have no way to access it. What I would like to do, is to format the M.2 NVME, and start with a clean system, that doesn’t have any of her private information on it. Can I take the M.2, which is the “hard drive”, put it into my computer, as a second M.2, and format it from my pc, and then return it back into her pc , add a new version of windows 10 Pro, which I have on a thumb drive, and basically go from there? Would this even work? Thank you in advance for any and all replies.
  11. Thank you very much for the replies, I appreciate it. I have much to learn. I never considered a Noctua cooler, or fans, because of pure vanity on my part. I hated the ugly brown color of the fans, and truth be told, I still do, but as far as what I've been able to find out, if they're not the best, they are very close. Performance, I've learned, is all about keeping temps as low as possible, and Noctua comes through in spades. I did a 3hr+ 4K render from PP, and with the Noctua cooler, my CPU temps never broke 60C. I'm absolutely impressed. I've come to realize that the reason my temps stayed around 68C when the Enermax TR4 was new, is because 68C is where in auto settings, the pc automatically ramps down the voltage of the CPU down as far as it takes, to keep temps from going above 68C.
  12. Here’s some numbers 45 minutes into a high bit depth 4K rendering from PP:
  13. This is under the full load of a very high bit depth, 5 minutes into a 4K render from Premiere Pro;
  14. hello, I just wanted to give an update. I've received the Noctua NH-U14S TR4-SP3, and I will not make the mistake of giving some kind of glowing review based on 5-10 minutes of success, however, as soon as I got it installed, which turned out to be unexpectedly easy. The apparatus does in fact fit the TR4 socket without any modification, and installs unexpectedly easy. My temps have only risen to 45C under light load, my clock speed has held steady @3700Mhz, and my voltage has remained over 1.25, and going as high as 1.5, without my temperatures going above 45C. So for the time being at least, the Noctua far exceeds in performance of what the Enermax LiqTech TR4, has evry been able to do. The Enermax has never idled at less than 68C, and far worse under load. I will report back, after I do some 4K rendering. Thank you for all of your replies, and for taking the time to read my update. I never would have guessed an air cooling apparatus could outdo any AIO, but at least in the case of the dreaded Enermax, so far, it has in spades.
  15. Follow up; I have been doing research on other people’s experiences with both of the original, and the new line of Enermax TR4 II, and according to the words of many others, the new line of TR4 II ‘s are even WORSE THAN THE ORIGINAL! If you have made it to the end of this thread, I would strongly urge everyone not to even consider putting a multi thousand dollar system at risk with ANYTHING Enermax has put out. From reading the experiences of many, many people, and my own personal experiences, I can safely say Enermax is pure junk, and a huge risk to an expensive PC. I’m going with the Noctua, NH-U14, like I should have done in the first place, but I was in too much of a haste, and purchased a mostly untested (long-term) product from Enermax. It was my first build, and to a large degree, I was very inexperienced, and unknowledgable about what I should expect from a cooling system, and I learned the hard way, and am very fortunate that I haven’t lost a $900 CPU to a $170 pos cooler from Enermax.
  16. I agree, a custom loop is the ultimate solution for maximum performance, and if I was up to the task, I would give it serious consideration, but a man’s gotta know his limitations.
  17. For anyone else who is interested in this debate,here is an older video of a comparison by the respected and highly regarded Gamers Nexus;
  18. Yes, I wholeheartedly agree, a custom loop is the sh!t, but also way above my pay grade, and skill set.
  19. P.S., yes, I did eventually remember to pull the plastic sheet off of my Quadro P5000, lol!
  20. Thank you very much for your reply, I’m watching the video on the Noctua, and I’m very excited and impressed by the performance of this product. The full load performance is actually better by 10C, than the Coolermaster AIO, and I’m both super surprised and impressed by this performance. I am now strongly leaning towards the Noctua. It doesn’t require modification, and I have huge room in my case.
  21. The Noctua appears to fit right into the TR4 socket, without a bracket modification, and given their reputation, I’m forced to give serious consideration to this product,even though I would prefer an AIO. I built my own computer, and am absolutely capable of pulling the MB, and installing brackets, I just am lazy, and would much prefer not have to.
  22. Thank you very much for your reply,I appreciate it.Yes I’m going with an AIO, and am considering the Enermax TR4II, however,I’m shocked at the number of reports of pump failures on the Newegg website, especially considering how new the product is. The reason it’s an attractive choice, is because I wouldn’t have to yank the MB, to install a bracket for installation.
  23. I have an original Enermax TR4, with a failing pump, and am purchasing a replacement product tomorrow. In your opinion, what AIO is the best, most effective, and reliable, for cooling Threadripper? Thank you in advance for any and all replies.
