  1. I'm not sure how to reinstall windows, and idk if that is the problem, because I think it's something to do with GeForce Experience
  2. I don't think its a virus, when I turn NVIDIA Highlights off from GeForce Experience, the lag stops completely. It's weird, I don't know how to fix it
  3. This is a recently built computer, I think I built it around September or so. If I recall, these lag spikes started happening around the creators update.
  4. I installed Fortnite on my SSD, but Epic Games Launcher is still on my HDD. I'm still getting bad lag spikes, but I do notice that my gpu usage goes down to 40-50% when it's lagging really bad. It still feels choppy when I play, but it goes away if my gpu usage is around 90-92%. This is what my disk usage looks like, I'm not sure if that's the problem. https://gyazo.com/310bfd150230900cfb0ed0cc6642801f This is my gpu, every time I alt-tab to check my gpu usage, the gpu usage goes up to 91%, which is where you see the gpu flatlining. https://gyazo.com/13be7f16956de132a1a56561163afa7c One thing I did notice was that when I was lagging, my network usage went to this - https://gyazo.com/efee0277f9477d141ac722768bf1347a instead of like this - https://gyazo.com/310bfd150230900cfb0ed0cc6642801f , but I'm again, not sure if this relates back to the problem.
  5. Thank you for the help, I'll try these fixes and see if they work. I'll get back to you.
  6. It says "Temporary Files" in highlights, goes to C:/Users/myname/AppData/Local/Temp/Highlights but the videos go on in D:/Videos. What should I do?
  7. In the highlights, it says files will go to C:/Users/myname/AppData/Local/Temp/Highlights, but the videos go to my HDD. (My C Drive is a 256GB SSD). Fortnite is installed on my HDD, and my OS is installed on my SSD.
  8. So lately I've been playing lots of Fortnite, as I'm sure much of you do as well. I enjoy the game, and I love making videos and montages of my highlights. Sometimes, I can't do this though, because the lag is so terrible from NVIDIA Highlights, which I need to make my clips. The lag goes on and off, maybe two or three times per game in Fortnite, but it's really bad and it lasts from 1-3 minutes. After, it goes away, and the game is smooth again. I also notice that when I turn NVIDIA Highlights on, my game gets choppier and a little bit laggier than with it off. I noticed that when these lag sessions happen, the fans from my GPU go quieter, and the temperature dips slightly. In the task manager, the usage of the GPU also dips to 30-50%, rather than being at around 90% when it is not laggy. Sometimes, when I mess around with settings to try and fix it, the lag will go away. But this is never consistent, and the same fix will not work for the next lag session. Please help, as this is really annoying and frustrating me; I have been killed countless times because of this lag. Thank you This is a video of the horrible lag - PC Specs CPU - i7 7700k GPU - GTX 1080 Strix MBO - MSI Z270 Gaming M5 RAM - GSkill TridentZ RGB 16gb Note: I would still like to have NVIDIA Highlights on, so I make my montages still, if that is possible.
