If you were to throw on just an AIO, you'd have nothing cooling the power delivery or VRM's, so they'd likely overheat.
That's why things like the Kraken G12 exist, so you can put an AIO on, but then also still have the cooling for other components, all while keeping it housed in the enclosure.
