then his friend doesnt understand the 'and' in
So that's why the "and" is not applicable since his friend is not using AMD Athlon 200 series/ 7th Gen A series or Athlon APU.. but a Ryzen 5 1400 and as I checked the manual of his motherboard.
It only supports M.2 SATA SSD'S when his friend is only using this architectures. Therefore.... Only NVME will work in his current scenario since his friend is using Zen architecture.

Your understanding is correct. All CPUs support M.2 SATA SSD, while NVMe SSD is only supported by Zen based Ryzen.
Your friend doesnt understand 'and', which is a big problem
But it's stated in his question that his friend is using a Ryzen and "insist" that NVME will only work because he's using a Ryzen 5 1400, so I think his friend knows what is "and". also the debate between them is will M.2 SATA SSD will work if his friend is using Zen.
Is SATA m.2 ssd compatible with Ryzen 5 1400?

Or is it M.2 SATA SSD only if using the said architecture?
I think I get it now.. only M.2 SATA SSD is supported not NVME if A-series or Athlon processor is used. Thanks @Jurrunio and... and.. BTW I'm his friend... HAHAHAHAHAH
