  1. Yeah I am just gonna try and go and get the GPU repaired. Sucks I have to travel and prob not be able to use my PC.
  2. Yes I ran prime 95 for a couple hours. The issue popped up recently and I have been running curve optimizer before that. I have no other parts to test with. My friends use laptops.
  3. I have not I only reduced the power to 90%. that is not the same as undervolting.
  4. No only set the power slider in MSI afterburner to 90. And undervolting doesn't seem like a perma fix. It fixes when I limit the power to 90 but that is not an acceptable solution IMO. I'll just bring the card in for repair if that is the only option since it is still under warrenty.
  5. As per the original post I also did that already.
  6. As per the original post system does not shut down. I still can hear the YT vid running in the background. CPU is undervolted -15 on the curve optimizer. GPU is an OC version crashes even at 100% power on MSI after burner. Ran it at 112% for years. 90% seems fine.
  7. Just to double check I went and searched power pc calculator. I went through the top 3 results. Cooler master new egg and be quite. Calculated the PC power draw and all of them say 850w or less works. General advice I see from reddit is 750 is recommended by NVIDIA 850 should be good. And yes 850w does take into account transient spikes as the GPU power is suppose to be 350w assuming since I have an OC version it is 450w+150w from the CPU even though it has a curve optimizer offset of -15 and it is not drawing full power when system crashes. Another 100w from the system that is still 700w total.
  8. You really think a PSU manufacturer who is incentivised to get you to buy a higher end PSU is a reliable source? NVIDIA recommends 750w. A simple google search you will find people recommending 850w. Not to mention the failure method is where the screen goes back but the system is still running in the background NOT A FULL POWER TRIP. And not to mention the CPU is barely loaded in GPU benchmarks which I used to test which means the system is not at peak draw which I tested on the day I built the PC with no issues.
  9. That is just false information. NVIDIA recommends 750w. Assuming NVIDIA bakes in some extra headroom even with the highest end CPU and I added another 100w on top of that doesn't seem likely. Along with the fact I have been using it for years without issue. This is a recent issue.
  10. Specs: PSU: Silverstone 850w 80+ gold GPU: TUF-RTX3080-O10G-GAMING Board: ROG Strix X570-F Gaming CPU: R9 5900x My system black screens after a while on high GPU load. It is not immediate. I discovered this one day while I was playing destiny 2 and kept crashing over and over. Went and tested it with superposition benchmark. Same thing happens. What is weird is that the black screen happens but I can still hear the youtube video I was watching playing in the background. I tried the driver reset keys ctrl+shift+win+b but it is still black screened. Force restart and it goes back to normal. This only happens on high load. I have limited the GPU power to 90% seems to have resolved the issue but that is a band aid solution. Things I have tried include reseating the GPU, clean reinstalling the drivers, updating bios and vbios. I would like some advice before I bring the GPU for repair. Maybe some troubleshooting tips I missed or if it is something else entirely. I am not comfortable disassembling the GPU and do not have spare parts to test with.
  11. With all the recent controversy regarding the youtube dislike button getting removed, wouldn't it be a cool idea to make an extension that gives that information back? With so many people against the removal of the dislike count you could make an app that creators can use to give this information back to their viewers. The basic idea is that a creator can allow the application to retrieve the like/dislike count from the youtube API. Then on the user side, the user would install an extension that allows you to view that information like when you click on the extension you can see the likes/dislikes via the extension. Some considerations: 1. Maybe spending this much dev time on an extension that no one might use is stupid. Then you can downsize the project/scope and just limit it to a simple website. The idea is to make a website with a box where they can place a youtube link and you can see the like/dislike count. LTT can lead by example as Linus has said that he doesn't like the removal of the dislike count. This could be an opportunity to back up your words. The video would be the announcement of this project and a call for other creators to join in and make their dislike counts public. Many creators have spoken against the dislike change this would be an opportunity to back their words up. 2. This wouldn't help address one of the main points of the dislike count helping weed out scams and such or bad advice. Well if this project is successful and receives widespread adoption then it would but I don't see widespread adoption as likely. If it does receive widespread adoption then people who don't adopt it would be seen as suspicious much like disabling the likes/dislikes in the old youtube system. 3. The point of the project while the above point talks about the possible but unlikely outcome of the project, the main point of the project is to protest the dislike by making that information available to your viewers and to take action instead of just talking about it and saying that you dislike the change actions speak louder than words. Especially if you explicitly try to reach out to other creators to join the program. 4. This was inspired by a recent ludwig video about the dislike change which showed the dislike count in the title which was inspired by tom scotts video which was made a while called this video has X views. This project aims to do that but on a much larger scale instead of just one video. If you really think this is too much work you could just make a similar video showing the dislike count in the title and encouraging other content creators to do so as well. Maybe this many creators doing this might get youtube to actually notice and care. 5. Some more stupid ideas a short 30 second spot on the WAN show showing the dislike counts for the videos in the past week. It could be like that meme. Week 1 of showing my dislike counts to protest the removal of the dislike count. Week 2 of showing my dislike counts to protest the removal of the dislike count. Etc etc. I hope you guys take this idea into consideration. Thx, An average LTT viewer who likes the dislike count.
  12. And why would spanned drives be better if it has the disadvantage of raid without the advantage no matter how negligible.
  13. I am 99% sure spanning the drive has the same disadvantage as raid without the benefit.
  14. I just new PC with a 5900x and a 3080. I have a separate NVME 1tb boot drive for all my documents, programs and OS. I have ordered 2 2TB 860 evos for my games drives currently waiting for them to arrive. Should I put them in raid 0 or use them as 2 separate drives? The benefit to putting them in raid would be using them as a single drive. I know the risks of raid 0 but on the other hand there is nothing there that is important. On the other hand some games might store their save files in the install folder. I know many games store their save files in like appdata or documents which is on my bootdrive.
  15. Yes I looked into those headsets but a lot of people say the Cooler Master MH751/752 is better and around the same price/less. So, I am asking if those headphones would require the included sound card considering the difference between the 751 and the 752 is the usb sound card. I am asking because some people say that the card is better than onboard audio some say it is not required which is probably because of different hardware so I am asking if my laptop the GL503VS has good enough onboard audio as I do not know how to check myself(which all I know is that it says realtek high definition audio like every other computer I see) to not need the 752(which is just the 751 with the usb sound card). It is also more convenient to not have to use a usb dongle.
