AddonCustoms got a reaction from J.b091 in Is Razer really that bad?
These 3 things are all connected. They break easily due to poor build quality, which wouldn't be that bad if they weren't so overpriced.  They are still ok, I know people that have used their products and normally after a year or 2 of use they break.  While things do break over time for the price people pay it should last longer.
The only thing Razer I use is their Goliathus mouse pad, I wouldn't touch anything else from them.

NO!!!  Please don't try you will end up breaking something. The old Hue is using 12v Standard 4 pin RGB LEDs, the Hue+ is using 5v 3pin Addressable LEDs, not only different voltages but the different tech that cannot be used with each other.

AddonCustoms got a reaction from royshaet in battlefield 4 punkbuster kicking me. for no apparent reason
The reason is stated here "Service Communication Failure: PnkBstrA.exe"  its a known issue, and its a pain to fix. Best way and the way that works most of the time is to uninstall PunkBuster, and reinstall it manually, and run the installer as admin, restart and then open services and make sure both pnkbstrA.exe and pnkbstrB.exe are both running.

AddonCustoms got a reaction from Changis in wiring a Long RGB adressable led strip to PSU
Asus Aura uses standard RGB and will not work with addressable, they are controlled completely different.  Standard RGB pinout is +12v, Ground, Ground, Ground, addressable is +5v, Data, Ground.

Unfortunately what you want to do isn't possible.
You would need to use standard RGB LED strips (not addressable) or use a controller that works with addressable LEDs.

We use the Tevo Tarantula in our workshop, we haven't even fully calibrated it yet and it prints great. The printer itself is great for the price, the company behind it could do better, language barrier and slow replies (If you are lucky to get one), but the FB group for this printer is great, not run by Tevo but their staff are in it.

AddonCustoms got a reaction from LukaH in Dremel suggestins
I would suggest paying more and go for the Dremel 4000 or newer, they are great tools and you will be surprised how handy they are.

As for cuttings discs we use these ones - >> LINK << - pack of 30 discs for £2.29, they do wear down quicker than the expensive ones but putting some sewing machine oil on the disc and cutting area will help them last longer.

We mainly use our Dremel for cutting cases and most recently cutting our laser cutter case which is 1mm steel which is when we found using machine oil on the cut makes it easier and the discs last longer.

AddonCustoms reacted to ProAce in Project 303
Update time, I've been a bit busy this period so this project has taken a bit of a hold, but never the less still a lot of things have happened!
In the last update, you could see that Cooler Master set me up with a nice power supply and an AIO cooler. But these needed a bit of a 'ProAce' touch. So soon after I got them the cooler was already bleeding out its green insides. This way I can fit new tubes on it with white coolant which will look way nicer.

After that was out of the way, the white LED had to go. It is a nice colour, but RGB is just plain better. So I fitted some off my own LED's in and hooked it up to the controller. Which also has a new iteration and is now being programmed, need to figure out some nice modes...

In Win also had a surprise for me, they set me up with a set of Aurora fans. These samples are pre-production but they're still working great. They have the same kind of LED's in as I use and the controller that comes with it has tonnes of modes, also the remote is a nice extra touch.

To fit in the second glass panel, I had to trim down the case a bit. The piece which the PSU rests on was too long and blocked the panel from fitting properly. So after taking the air powered rotary tool out, and a bit of good will, it came off quite easy. The rest got a bit scratched up but that will get an acrylic cover.

The side panel fits these tiny magnets in perfectly and they're strong enough to keep te panel in place. I liked this method so much that I took the original construction off as well and replaced that with magnets.

The last thing I did for this update was starting the sleeving job. AddonCustoms set me up with loads of connectors and I used those in combination with some white 18AWG wire and grey/white paracord. The result so far is stunning if I may say so myself, now I only need to do my 24 pin cable.

That's how far I got for now! In the next update, I hope to have the acrylic, have finished the sleeving and, have put some new tubes on the AIO. See you then!

The article said "laser 3D printer" and then showed videos of FDM printers printing, no mention of laser cutters. The point is, the people writing this BS didn't even bother to do their research on these machines and then throw 3D printing into the public's crosshairs. Yes, ABS, Nylon and other plastics can and do produce toxic fumes, but there's no evidence of the victims using those plastics or if they used something less harmful, like PLA for example. I don't think they'd sit in a room with ABS printing, the smell is unbearable and it doesn't take a genius to know the fumes can't be very good for your health...
