I mean my $400 phone has a higher resolution display in a smaller size. If a Snapdragon 855 can drive a 1080p display, a Ryzen chip should have no problem doing so.
 
If you want to conserve battery, give the user a choice to turn down the resolution. It's not a laptop, but god forbid you do anything else like watching a movie from it.

7" 720p screen on a thousand dollar device. Surprised Linus and writer was ok with that.

The  Gigabyte G34WQC is $399 and is 3440 x 1440 at 34", 144hz. Effectively a wider 2560 x 1440 27" display.

Bezos in reality is "richer" since all of his wealth isn't tied into Amazon stock where as Elon's net worth is like 99% Tesla stock that he can't sell without financially ruining the company.
