  1. Is there a way I can do it with Columns UI? Should I perhaps go back to the Default UI since then you would be able to help me more effectively?
  2. I've made a thread on the Hydrogenaudio forums about my many problems. I tried what you suggested using EsPlaylist, but it didn't work very well, it had the folders as headings above their contents in one giant long list, not really what I was looking for. I switched back to the default playlist and while it handled the the list better, it was still just that, a long list. Neither of the playlist types handled the sub-folders well.
  3. Thank you, you are the first one to properly explain one of the things I asked about.
  4. So the PC crashes when you plug them in?
  5. This thread was supposed to be serious, but I guess if you question the silly people you get them to arrive with their abundance of eccentricities and turn any thread upside down.
  6. So I replaced one of the button icons with a higher resolution one, but the button stayed the same size.
  7. Well all the other ones seem to see it necessary.
  8. Someone should make one of those videos where they take bits of pieces of what someone says on camera and make them sing a song, kind of like what they've done to Trump a few times, except with Linus, or maybe Jake, or Dennis.
  9. You seem very devoted to the wiggling parrot considering you are one of the few enthusiasts of his who doesn't have him in your profile picture.
  10. So, by album list panel, do you mean a "Filter" that is set to display the music by album, and if so, how do I set it to folder structure? There doesn't seem to be an option for that. Using Columns UI, this is my current layout: I would like to make the large top area a folder structure just like one would find in Windows Explorer. The section in the bottom left I want to have as a Queue, and the bottom right is fine as is.
  11. How long did you spend formatting that text to be rainbow-coloured? Was it worth it? Do you write all of your posts in so many colours?
  12. But the whole point of this thread though is to insure that I'm not confused (at least about the things I mentioned in the OP). However I get the sense you're one of those people who doesn't like to answer "why" questions with anything other than "Why not?".
  13. Honestly I'm still just as confused as when I posted this thread in the first place, if not more.
  14. Thanks, that has actually been really helpful, I've played around and gotten a layout I like, but there are a few things though that I still can't figure out how to do: Is there and way to get some type of "Now Playing" bar somewhere? How do I make the buttons bigger? Can I display how far I am through the track (e.g. 2:13/4:08)? Also, how do I get the folder view I was talking about?
  15. So I've installed Foobar, since it seemed the most versatile of the options suggested, and while I like it, I'm finding that the library browsing block/section feels a bit dated and the text is tiny. Is there a way to fix this in the program as is, or do I need to install a custom UI? And if so, which would you recommend?
  16. Banned for having most (if not all) of his posts on this thread.
  17. Banned for having too many badges.
  18. Banned for having a profile pic that looks older than he is.
  19. But why? Where does it come from? And is "birbs" an intentional misspelling, kind of like "boi"?
  20. I have seen a few things show up regularly on this forum that I do not understand the meaning/purpose of. The first is the wiggling rainbow parrot. The second is the picture of Linus looking down at the camera (the pic he uses as his wallpaper) where he looks like he has a fat chin, and lastly the song "never gonna give you up", it's been in videos, it was linked on the April 1st banner, and then there was that guy whose thread got locked. Can someone please explain to me why the LTT community seemingly likes these so much?
  21. For a long time I have played my music with Windows Media Player, and honestly it has been really good (in my opinion). The thing is, WMP organizes songs according to its "infinite wisdom" which causes a lot of problems with my eclectic collection. I have my own folder structure and usually end up navigating through it with Windows Explorer and opening the file I want, this is okay, but not ideal. Basically I'm looking for a (free) program that allows me to make my own folder structure and organize things regardless of album, artist, or year (especially because WMP often gets these things wrong). A few other nice features would be playback speed adjustment, EQ adjustment, and some type of frequency visualization (both WMP and VLC have this, but the bars go down too slow and I've seen them behave weirdly as if they weren't actually totally legit). WMP is also getting rather dated, and this shows in what it's still really good at: Ripping CDs, I do have some CDs, but not enough that I want to use a program that only works well with them (and WMP has messed up the credentials for my CDs a few times too).
  22. At this point he should just "do it for the memes" as they (probably Jake) say.
  23. Given that I'm planning on running it on a dual-core system with 4 GB of RAM, it might be good to go for a bare-minimum OS. That said, it really just has to play videos, so not too difficult of a task.
  24. What is the Best Linux distribution to use for a computer intended to store and play movies and music? Would Ubuntu be good for this due to its (comparatively) wide support, or are there better options?
