  1. I mean dunno how accurate the speed at the bottom left of the video is, but 46 MPH when you started changing lanes already too close to the truck imo when it was sitting at said speed for quite a bit, in a 40mph zone? doesnt exactly sound like slowing down to me
  2. If you had traffic to the left, and a truck in front of you is indicating and slowing down for a turn... maybe you also should slow down.. let the truck turn .. and then go about your business?
  3. nah, you got it all wrong, the Miata is a more modern MGB shall we start calling all miatas as MGBs .. or maybe MGA as that came before the MGB?... plus the Miata aint exactly cool, its a small 2 seater low power sports car thats got no roof (in most variations) thats about it
  4. Its still the same company ... its just gotten different ownership, no company is the same compared to what they could have or did make in the 60s ... kinda need to adapt with the times if you want to stay afloat.. hence why every supercar company is starting to make SUVs and/or crossovers also it aint a miata
  5. if you read slightly lower .. its the same brand but different owner as the Chinese company bought the rights for the MG brand .. which in turn means its close enough to be the same company imo https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MG_Cars#Under_MG_Motor
  6. I would go used, no point in getting something that might not be the right thing for you just because its the only new bike you could afford
  7. Yeah i agree with skipping the KTM for a 1st bike, they are good bikes, but for a 1st bike you want something that doesnt kill your wallet Yeah the CRF300 availability has been a bit shitty as its quite a recent bike, but if you are in no rush to get one, then it should be fine.
  8. I mean replacing the seat is doable, not the cheapest idea, but would work as long as the rest of the ergonomics you like. Id recommend the CRF300 over the CRF250, if you can afford to ... Most people will say they are weak in power but its a 300cc .. its not exactly meant for power and its 100% better to learn on a 300 than like a 1000 or even a 600 ... Yeah vehicles in general are not cheap so thats fully understandable. im just trying to help with advice in general either way. Yes KTM can get tortured quite a bit and usually come better speced from the factory.. but the Japanese made bikes tend to take more punishment .. .though if maintened properly ... any decent bike should last... just avoid most of the Italian bikes they tend to be more problematic over the rest
  9. Exactly why i advised to get like a 400cc bike or a larger scooter originally, as they are not much more than a 125 and are easier to live with on a daily basis. Would seriously look into the larger scooters, id say Suzuki Burgman 400 but that can get quite expensive especially since you can get a Kawasaki Ninja 400 or Kawasaki Z400 for about $5500. Yamaha also has an R3 or MT03 that are roughly the same class of bikes for the same price, same with Honda with the CB300R and CBR300R (would go for kawaski cause best performance for $ and reliability is more or less the same for all of them) KTM you need to go for like the 640, 690, 790, 890 or 990 for the decently reliable ones ... or a 1290/1301 if you can live with some reliability issues and the initial purchase cost of all of them tend to be more than Japanese alternatives. Genuinely Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha all have options to look for
  10. Genuinely if you are considering a grom for a commuter, get a 125cc scooter ... it would be much better for that
  11. Grom is not exactly a bike to use for commuting as it has both the downsides of small bikes and downsides of small scooters. Nor does it benefit fuel economy with the 125cc engine as the early models (until recently) have only a 4 speed gearbox its only popular because its cheap and easy to do stupid shit on without getting in trouble for speeding. Its kinda like the BMX bike of the motorcycle world. it is not a bad bike for what it is, but you'd never want to commute on it as its a lot smaller than a regular bike or even scooters. No amount of aftermarket parts will fix the ergonomic issue of it being a very tiny bike and you might not physically fit on it. Sure if you are small enough you might be comfortable on it, but thats not often the case. Also just remembered that for rough estimate of the seating position and ergonomics you can use this website, doesnt have all the bikes in the world .. but for a rough estimate picking a similar bike usually works. https://cycle-ergo.com/
  12. With Dual sports be careful .. they tend to be dirt bikes with license plates .. so not exactly comfortable for the most part All dual sports will be with more or less the same ergonomics, not everyone is ok with riding them around town and none of them would be perfect *out of the box* the DRZ400 is nowhere near as good as people make it sound like it is and they should have updated it quite long ago, not worth the money imo 230-300 to 400-450 is technically a completely different class of bikes in the dualsport world hence the price difference... nothing to do with quality KLX230 might be too new for there to be enough information around But get like a Honda CRF300 if you want a dual sport, they seem to be rock solid as its the same CRF250 ... just updated.
  13. Hey, I'm a motorcyclist myself. Currently own a 2004 Yamaha fz6 fazer. I'm not an expert but I'll try to help as best as I can. Yeah so for the most part bike wise there are 4 big Japanese brands - Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki and Kawasaki, they are usually the ones to go for reliability wise. But if you are looking for 125ish cc or smaller then they are more or less China or India made bikes no matter the brand and reliability can suffer as well. Scooters usually don't require any shifting mainly cause of a cvt transmission, but there are also bikes with dct transmissions and also some with cvt that also don't require shifting. (Honda has like 3x bikes with dct currently if I'm not wrong). Scooters for the most part feel like sitting on a comfy chair when even the most upright bikes can feel weird or uncomfortable to some. There are cruiser style bikes that also lean you backwards so you need to explore the styles to see what fits you by going to dealers and sitting on the bikes or even just ask the staff what they would recommend for you, as for the most part they ride themselves and in my experience want to help new riders. And basically comes down to what kind of speeds and riding you want to do and your budget... If you also want it to be a fun toy I'd recommend a bike (not that scooters can't be fun just bikes tend to be more universal in that aspect ) ... Kawasaki ninja 400 or Honda cbr500r comes to mind... If you need just around town and nothing for highway speeds a 125 scooter like the yamaha will do just fine and the fuel economy will be great ... (or if you want cheapest most fuel efficient motorised mode of transport) If you want commuting but may need highway speeds I'd recommend a larger cc scooter like the Suzuki burgman 400 so you are not revving the nuts out of a 125 to keep up with traffic (though burgman scooter fanbase can be a tad overprotective at times). Hope this helped!
  14. the mk7.5 GTI i have driven is tuned and it was also just amazingly nice to drive... it made me want one
  15. personally not a fan of how Toyota does CVTs ... as thats the only one i have real experience with with automatics i dont really mind them as long as they are semi modern ones prefer a DCT style box like my volvo has .. but many people complain about them being twitchy compered to an automatic
  16. I hate when the center console is just a massive ipad... it just looks terrible and most likely wont work as well as they intend it to imo also subaru dont do automatics .. they do CVT ... which to some is a more of an issue than someone not knowing how to drive a manual knowing Subaru in Europe ... just offers CVT only
  17. 2m tall roughly ... i struggle to fit into the avg European hatchback ... a mk7 golf is doable but a tad on the small side, so yah, doubt id fit decently well into one
  18. love the look of them things .. but doubt id be able to fit in one comfortably, as i have heard that they are not exactly tall people friendly ... and calling me tall is a bit of an understatement
  19. Miles per kW? A battery has certain amount of kWh ... and a fuel tank has a certain amount of liters/gallons what ever the fuck you measure in ... makes sense to me
  20. Like I get being childish and insulting people cause they offended your whole bloodline .. but I just asked a question? Either way ... if you send a useless reply ... you will get one back.
