LOW FPS / FPS DROP SOLVED !! (Windows 10)
    Hi Vault Hunters !

I had very low FPS issue since I have Windows 10, and 4-8 FPS with a GTX 1080, this is sad.
I contacted 2K support and here is the answer that works for me (HAAAAAALLELUJAH) :

"Come on in, you’re missing the fun here at 2K Support!

So, I see you've got some computer issues huh? Chiiild’s play! I’ll be your trainer so you can kick that issue in the butt-butt! Right now you're like “pow”, but when we’re done you’re gonna be like “Killer POW”! Hold on to your badonkadonk and let’s get this party started!

    Here are your first missions:

    1. Verify that game cache reeeeeal good
    · Load Steam.
    · From the Library section, right-click on the game and select “Properties” from the menu.
    · Select the “Local files” tab and click the “Verify integrity of game cache” button.
    · Steam will match the local files to the cloud files, and fix any errors it encounters.

    2. Show that DirectX who’s the boss
    · In the Steam installation folder of the game you’re having trouble with, there will be typically be a DirectX setup package.
    · Example file path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Borderlands 2\Binaries\Redist\DirectXRedistCutdown
    · Find and run DXSETUP.exe

    3. GO GET THEM ADDITIONAL SOFTWARES
    · Navigate to your game’s steam folder – there will typically be another Redist folder.
    · Example file path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Borderlands 2\Binaries\Redist\
    · In this folder you will find one or more VcRedist installation packages. Run each of them!
    · You should also see a file called dotNETFx40_Client_x86_x64.exe. Run it!
    · During the installation of the VcRedist files, once again you may be prompted to either ‘uninstall’ or ‘repair’ them. Choose ‘repair’ in that case.
    · After you installed all the files, please reboot the computer (mandatory)"

Best support ever, is not it ? ❤️
I hope this will solve you troubles :)

    Kisses bros ❤️

This is no longer true for WoW which now has multi-core support.

    Hi there,

Its because of the game engine itself. Older game engines like Dota, WoW, StarCraft 2 require very strong single core performance and cannot properly utilize the multi cores. So in games where math calculations are limited to only one core, this core will have maxed out its math capacity but the rest of the cores and hardware will be unused. It is the game to blame, not your system.

anyway back to the problem at hand, I suggest DDUing the GPU drivers and redownload and reinstall the latest driver.

To be honest, that's a first I have ever heard of an issue like that.

The only thing that comes to mind is that possibly something in the nvidia control panel is set so that it limits the FPS.

If that aint the case then try running a gpu benchmark for the fun of it and see if it also happens there:

    https://benchmark.unigine.com/superposition

Any changes that you made prior to the issue ?

Check power management and make sure it's set on max performance.

  10. hi there i was haveing some problems with my pc and some fps drops ..not sure why it happened ..but now iv spoke to microsoft support and my fps is fine now ..not sure what fixed this   ..could be the 3 resets and  i did a factory reset or my messing with bios ..but any way my games play good ..well i think they do anyway ...but heres the problem is that every time i use performance monitor it says my pc is poor ..on the cpu gpu and hard drive and memory  ..even tho i had all green light under the warning signs ..i have no viruss and upto date drives and windows up to date.and in device manger it says all my devices are working properly .so i dont get it because the only problem that i get is that when i load up an internet web page ..my sound cuts out for a sec then comes back on . and apart from that every think is good ..heres my rig ..its a i5 7500 3,4ghz to 3.7 and ddr4 ram 2400mhz .. with a b250 motherbored and a gtx 1080ti  with a 120gbs ssd and a normal hard drive 1000gbs with a 650 wat gold psu and only fans to cool it ..i just dont get why the pc wood tell me i need an upgrade when my pc is relly good ...and heres some notes ..microsoft said if its not a hard where issue then its there fualt and they will fix it in the next update and they said some think like there aware of this issue ...but heres the dodgy thing. about a month or 2 ago. i did spill coke cacola in to my pc and it went all funny on the screen and i unplug it quick and pulled the parts out for a clean..all i could do was let it dry and give it a wipe ..so i waited a few hours and then pluged it back in ...it was working fine ..and i had no issues ..and i could stream games on twitch and play in 4k 60 fps ..so thats the hole story ..and my pc was working fine even after the drink spill but then for some reason my pc keep getting fps drops on the wolf among us ..but thats fine now ..eva me or microsoft fix that ..just worry about the poor hard where issue ..when the pc is fine ..and help wood be a big help ..thx for reading

Except that interpolation is absolutely occurring if you're not running your monitor at its native resolution -- which will always make it look worse than no interpolation at all. On top of that, interpolating 4k down to 1080p is no worse than interpolating 4k to 1800p or 1440p. It's not that the problem only exists when interpolating below 1440p, it's that lower resolutions inherently look worse due to being a lower quality image. The damage being done by interpolation is the same regardless of the resolution once interpolation is involved.

ok thx you very much for some useful info

The best way to get help is to insult the person trying to help you. 1800p is an unusual resolution, kind of like 1600x1200 back in the day. It's not often seen outside of the laptop world because 4K is better in literally every way. If you have a 1080 Ti and a 4K monitor, why are you looking to use 1800p at all?

because the 1080ti is not as good as you think it is .....and i was asking for help..and this guy is trying to say i made it all up ..so how wood you feel being called a lier

  15. 6 minutes ago, M.Yurizaki said:

I'm going to wager it's because you don't have a monitor that reported it supports the resolution you're looking for by default. If you have a 4K monitor, you can add a custom resolution in the NVIDIA Control Panel under Display -> Change Resolution -> Customize... button. If you have something of lower resolution than the one you want, then you're going to have to enable DSR. However, keep in mind that DSR only works on set multiples. So divide the resolution you want by the monitor's resolution (just width or height will do) and see if that number shows up in the DSR factors list. If not, then you're just going to have to deal with the closest value.

    thanks for your help

  16. im just gonnar say one more thing ..you guys do no that 1800p is better then 1440p ..and looks great on a 4k monitor at 60 fps at ultra setting ....the only way you suff on resolution with a 4k monitor is if you go under 1440p ..other yyy it all looks great
