intel CPU stuck at 0.8 GHZ
EspinalAndres replied to EspinalAndres's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Already did a fresh install, I needed it anyway, but it did not work. Slow1 or LN2 does not exist in my board. I'm already using ThrottleStop with windows start, all good so far. Soon I will fisically clean the motherboard, which is the last thing I will do regarding this topic. -

@unclewebb do you think windows is the problem? I started windows in safe mode and it gives me 3.8 Ghz instead of 0.8Ghz, It will not turbo, it stays at 3.8. Should I format windows? -

Thank you very much for your answer, I tested with a new PSU and the 0.8 Ghz still continues. I will clean the motherboard tomorrow, maybe and just maybe it would fix it. This is my motherboard manual: https://es.msi.com/Motherboard/MAG-Z490-TOMAHAWK/support#manual, unfortunately there is not LN2 switch, but I will look for it fisically, because there is a couple more switches that are not present in the manual, I can see them on the board. -

Here I found the same problem: Most likely a sensor on the motherboard is broken. -

Why? my temps are ok even with Prime95 stress test. -

I'll try a borrow PSU because I see this problem is common in some laptops with battery and MSI boards for desktops (my case). This is the post most related i have found: https://rog-forum.asus.com/t5/overclocking-tweaking/bd-prochot-red-yellow-in-throttlestop-g731gw-solved/td-p/866355/page/2 For now it seems like: 1- A sensor on the motherboard is broken and that triggers the BD PROCHOT signal. 2- The PSU is sending over voltage or over current and that triggers the BD PROCHOT signal. For now I'll wait for the PSU. -
intel CPU stuck at 0.8 GHZ
EspinalAndres replied to EspinalAndres's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
already did all that. I removed the GPU, I reset the BIOS, updated to the latest BIOS, used the optimal default profile, apply correctly new thermal paste but nothing works. I does not seem like a temp issue. -

Removing the 0.8 Ghz limit with ThrottleStop , I ran a intel extreme tuning utility and prime95 for 5 min and temps are OK: So I think temps are not the problem, maybe a bios configuration or PSU? -

yes, latest -
I turned on the pc today and felt it really slow, turns out is stuck at 0.8 Ghz. I am researching hard because I use this pc to work so is extremely important. I removed the GPU, I reset the BIOS, updated to the latest BIOS, used the optimal default profile, apply correctly new thermal paste but nothing works. I am sure is not temperatures, at idle temperatures are ok: I use ThrottleStop program and it works (returned to normal speeds) by disabling BD PROCHOT but as soon as I restart windows the problem comes back The 0.8 is also seen in BIOS: What can I do, I can´t work, today I lost the whole day. My pc is: i7 10700k @ 5.05 Ghz Corsair H100i pro XT 240mm MSI z490 tomahawk 16 Gb (2 x 8 GB) Patriot Viper Steel - 4000mhz - 16-16-16-34 MSI 1070TI titanium

Is because of looks and that I already have it Exactly is for looks. -
Greetings, It's been a while since I built a computer, I decided to change my current case for the new Lian Li Lancool 216 X Black Mid Tower: https://lian-li.com/product/lancool-216/ I am really excited, now I'm wondering what's the best configuration since I have never put the radiator on top. I'm planning this: And there is the possibility to put two more fans at the buttom. 1-Is this the best configuration? or do you recommend other? 2-Is it useless to put 2 fans at the buttom, do they need to be exhaust or intakes?

Greetings, My Asus laptop X415JA with BIOS Aptio American megratrends inc (blue and gray standard bios) is not letting me change anything about ram settings. So far, I have found how to change to an advanced mode (in the same Aptio American megratrends inc bios) but for some other brands like HP, ACER and MSI. CONTROL + F1 will grant acces to more advanced settings in HP laptops. Shift + Control + Alt + f2 will grant acces to more advanced settings in MSI laptops. Pressing FN + TAB 3 times in a row will grant acces to more advanced settings in Acer laptops. Unfortunately, I have not found how to do it on ASUS laptops. Does anyone know? My goal is to change the frecuency of my ram, curently stuck at 2333. thanks!

Asus X415JA laptop RAM problem
EspinalAndres replied to EspinalAndres's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
no luck, I updated the bios to the latest, but no option is shown to manage anything for the RAM. Is there any way to change that "legacy" bios to the regular bios, which allows to change the RAM speed? -
Asus X415JA laptop RAM problem
EspinalAndres replied to EspinalAndres's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Can i change it on the bios? My laptop bios has no RAM settings at all, and is a "legacy bios" as Asus call it: https://www.asus.com/es/support/FAQ/1008859/ Looking forward to your reply. -
Greetings, I am a little confused, windows shows this: but CPU-Z this: It shows 1064 Mhz, instead of 1600Mhz, so, I have a some questions: 1- Which is real? cpu-z or windows? 1- Windows is saying is using 2 out of 2 ram slots, but CPUZ is saying slot 2 is empty. whats real? 3- I cannot see any BIOS option to change anything for the ram, is it possible? the bios is kind of old (blue and gray bios). Looking forward for some help. Asus laptop X415JA 8 GB ram i3 1005g1

yes, for gaming is great @ 5 Ghz and 5.1 Ghz hitting max around 68 C° on the heaviest games, on light games like pubg hitting aroung 60C°. For synthetics I'm at 5 Ghz getting max 93C° on heavy benchmarks like Prime 95 (average is like 88C°). This is with a horrible cheap bad case which I'll change soon, so expect around 4 o 5 C° less with a good case. I reccommend getting the 360mm though so you can overclock higher, and the price is like almost the same.

r7 5800x for me is the sweet spot, 6 cores is too low for me imo, but if $$ is a problem go for the 5600x.

Long term overclock true or myth
EspinalAndres replied to EspinalAndres's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
I changed my thermal paste to Grizzly Kryonaut 1g and now my max is 88C° on Aida64, and is like 80 average.
