Making a new build (white theme)
Captain Fluffy replied to Captain Fluffy's topic in New Builds and Planning
ahhh okay, i'll keep that in mind when making my next post, thanks for explaining it, thought i could let the post go abit and just discus it till we get to a perfect point. but that seems far fetched from the looks of it. i'll mark this as an answer and make a new post later down the line. Thank you for the help -
Making a new build (white theme)
Captain Fluffy replied to Captain Fluffy's topic in New Builds and Planning
what do you mean exactly? if you are asking about my old pc, it's just put together over a long time period not a pre-built if you are asking that. hope that answers your question -
Main rule, i want to stay around a white theme build, looks pretty Budget (including currency): around 2000 Euro Country: Netherlands Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming, multitasking and some editing of vids or photo's too. aswell i just want a new pc. games i usually play: team fortress 2, Overwatch 2, Mordhua, Deep rock Galactic, Lethal company, Garry's Mod, Eldenring, Dark Souls 3, BF 2042 and some other triple A titles which i am sure can run. Other details: existing parts lists https://nl.pcpartpicker.com/list/zPrrqR whether any peripherals are needed: Peripherals are sorted out no need for those what you're upgrading from (any more info needed about this system please ask.) Currently upgrading from a relatively old beast I5 9600k GTX 1080 TI AORUS X-Treme edition 11GB (sadly broke down, currently using my backup 1060 3gb from MSI) 16GB of corsair vengeance ddr4 Z390 a pro MSI mobo its a be quiet PSU unit 750 or 650 watts not sure whats its name or exact wattage without having to remove it from my pc Black Base 500 from be quiet 970 M.2 1TB 2 TB seagate barracuda and a random ssd of 240 gb. when you're going to buy? Hopefully in 6-9 month's could be earlier could be later no real set time what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): 1440p 165hz second monitor is 1080p 60hz ------------------------------------------------- This is my first time having the idea and wanting to toy around with putting a build together, i have decent knowledge on building a pc, tho i got 0 clue about computer parts these days. I just chose a part that looks cool and a i read a few reviews about it if its any good. ----------------------- Hope that i can be helped out with this, in case something could be better or i could spend my budget differently or what ever else! Thanks for taking your time to read! if i am missing any info please do tell and i'll try my best help out

to go by what others have said, see them as trash and get a good psu instead. this in a worst case if they worked is just a house fire waiting to happen
-
Did you get a chance to see that PSU's work before you bought them? if not then you might have just bought a PSU thats turbo dead , untop of that i highly would recommend not buying used PSU's unless you get a chance of testing it out with the rest of the system.
-
Use a different usb port as the port you are using has connectivity issues, or a other peripheral is clashing on the same ghz range, screwing it up. i would also reccomend updating the firmware of the mouse if you havent done that yet Do update me incase that didnt work.

Planning to upgrade my gpu
Captain Fluffy replied to Captain Fluffy's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Havent visisted the forums in a while as i was looking together with my dad in some of the optionns.... to semi answer the question. I mainly play old games like: tf2 csgo gmod terraria, and some new games like bf2042 mordhau or deep rock galactic. some of these games are just getting wierd gpu issues like people looking like ps1 grapics on steroids. or just crash i just want a new gpu i got about 320 euro laying about probs could get more in the next month. just unsure about AMD heard the driver support is hot garbage served on a gold platter from a friend of mine so it's beween these 3 options. overpriced NIVIDA (with a side of melting PSU ports on the 40 series) nicely priced INTEL, ( has some driver issues and generally can be overlooked if used propperly, i can expect same or abit slower performance) or sell my current rig while using my laptop as Temporary desktop, and collect enough money to get a new build going not sure what that would cost nowadays, doesnt need to be high end, just enough to run most games at a decent and stable fps. hope to hear soon from this post again. -

Planning to upgrade my gpu
Captain Fluffy replied to Captain Fluffy's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
i dont nessarly think i have a budget to upgrade at all atm. and just general wanna replace the current gpu, as it just has a very high idle temp and generally just turns playing drg into a slightshow when i goes over 80c.i have repasted it and cleaned it out completely, no change to it. -
Planning to upgrade my gpu

EDIT: i think the intel arc 770a will the one i grab, seing current pricing on rtx cards and havent been too much into wanting to step over to amd as i hear my friend complain about it's drivers constantly tho incase if you wanna know what games i play i mainly play Deep rock galactic, Garry's mod Mordhau. sometimes tf2. -
So i've been sitting on my GTX 1080 TI Aorus for a while now and i just want a new Gpu. though i am unsure if it would be a build thats gonna be somewhat balanced Current specs: Cpu: I5 9600k Mobo:z390-A PRO Ram: Cosair vengeance 4x8GB gpu: GTX 1080 TI Aorus XTREME EDITION and i was thinking upgrading/swapping to the INTEL ARC 770A as the price seems really nice and preformance about equal or abit lower depending on what website i look at. Would this work out or are there any hiccups i might need to beware or just simply choose a different gpu all together. I wont be going for the RTX 40 series as they have the combustible port syndrome, i just dont wanna deal with can of worms. Hope to get a answer from you guys! Thx for reading.

have had this screen for about 2 month's here's my issue. if an app or website is just a dark hue or just black with something bright and i move it away too my other screen or i close it, it leaves this imprint of what was there. yet slowly goes away overtime. (i didn't have this problem with my old IPS 144hz screen) i can't seem to really replicate this weird issue with my display now. it just sometimes pops outs the blue making me think its me gpu giving up or my screen just my screen not working proper but i have some faint pictures of what did happen, and I found pictures online showing in more detail what's been going on. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SPECS: i5 6900K CPU 1080 TI AORUS XTREME 11GB GPU 16 gb RAM 750 wat PSU ---------------------------------------------------- Things i tried to as a hot fix to no avail. (no order to what i've written down) clean windows install DDU gpu driver update New cable different port on gpu tried it with one screen by just unplugging my second monitor ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Here's the first few pictures which are of my display. again its really faded but if you were to look close at the bottom you can see a score here aswell but on the top. when i first had this screen it was bleeding through alot more Here are the pictures i found online of a person that has the same issue as me (he still hasn't found a solution) this should give enough of an idea on what i am trying to convey and to get fixed!

Doom Eternal gpu problem, Barely any use
Captain Fluffy replied to Captain Fluffy's topic in Programs, Apps and Websites
Have used that progam before its was utter trash, fan curve just didnt work. even tried making it spin constintantly yet it didn't work, figured that while playing pubg and saw that i reached 100C on my gpu and was wondering where the artifacts where coming from... i don't think they update it at all. its an I5 9600K nope doesn't seem to be any throtteling. but one thing i have noticed is that i tried streaming doom eternal again for one of my friends, and the GPU temps stayed under or abit above 80C, normally i was looking at 90C, and figured out cave man style the gpu was indeed HOT by touching it like moron cause i was unsure if it was actually working. got pump rpm, above 2000, though kinda wanna get a new one anyways cause i found out i bought this 7 years ago... just to make sure for what ever reason just to replace it. fan's still good on it though so i am salvaging that its RGB -

i hear not really anything when i put my ear on the cpu block, the gpu is idiling at 60, but now that i installed afterburner it's close 52, and the clock speeds are 4395 stable? MHz if i am reading it correctly -
Doom Eternal gpu problem, Barely any use
Captain Fluffy replied to Captain Fluffy's topic in Programs, Apps and Websites
Okay i did look this up and quite a few people had this issue getting the same reply, but odly enough task manager showed me gpu usage both on doom eternal and DRG a few days ago. but i have figured out with afterburner: that yes indeed the gpu is being used using 90% at main... menu with high settings.. and its reaching 83 C... soo thats a +? adding to the fact that, my AIO pump most likley did die so i am probs gonna need to buy a new one.. would it still be worth to open up the gpu and give it new thermal pads same goese for the cpu give it some new thermal paste? mabye that could lower the idle temp aswell, gonna get a new aio though, any suggestions? got around 110 euro laying around for a new one or i go with a air cooled one -
Doom Eternal gpu problem, Barely any use
Captain Fluffy replied to Captain Fluffy's topic in Programs, Apps and Websites
yeaa, still doesnt really resolve the issue with my gpu thats just not working. btw, now i feel like i could ask it here how do you properly clean a gpu? and how and where do you find these pads that got talked about? kinda wanna fix this horrible idle temp of 57-60C -

Doom Eternal gpu problem, Barely any use
Captain Fluffy replied to Captain Fluffy's topic in Programs, Apps and Websites
i might have done a bios update some time ago but not that it would really matter as the system worked even better after it. i have aswell updated the chipset today cause that was another option. which didn't work. kinda leaning on that full reset remove everything from all my drives and just go again from a clean slate, or just throw in a free month of bit defender and let go free for an couple of hours -
Doom Eternal gpu problem, Barely any use
Captain Fluffy replied to Captain Fluffy's topic in Programs, Apps and Websites
currently 0-3% though that kinda fits in with the thing heating up like 11 C only for like 6%extra usage... wait a minute it only shows my 1080 on the device manager. would rewseting my entire windows get rid of anything on it? kinda wanna just go nuclear aty this point been looking for an fix for 6-7 hours -

Captain Fluffy replied to Captain Fluffy's topic in Programs, Apps and Websites
makes alot of sense, though thing is when i turned off dx12 in Deep rock Galatic (which loves to eat my gpu and cpu for breakfast) it actually started using the gpu again.... making me think it has sometghing to with the rendering. -
Doom Eternal gpu problem, Barely any use
Captain Fluffy replied to Captain Fluffy's topic in Programs, Apps and Websites
its a desktop failed to mention this sorry, thought the specs were enough to give the idea. ima try this theory i have out. if i try different heavy gpu related games like sea of thieves, subnautica, Minecraft with shaders, i wanna see if the issue presents there aswell -
