Worded my post a little wrong, was more referring to the Pentium + best cheaply available card at current time being the budget build. The best cheaply available GPU changes almost daily lately with crypto price hikes/etc. I believe RX 550 is still a good option, but it's closer to $150 locally lately. Possibly worth the extra though.
Also note the RX 550 doesn't actually perform as well as you'd expect in games. It benchmarks insanely higher (I mean +50-60%) in some tests, but realistically in most games it's equal or +/- ~20% depending on optimizations. With the price hikes on it currently it's hard to justify the extra $30-40 for a such a small benefit. For some it may be a benefit (depending on game played), for example Rocket League the RX 550 shows to have more stable 1% lows (56 rather than 47) allowing for the FPS to be capped quite smoothly at 60, but it all varies from game-to-game. https://www.techspot.com/review/1488-esports-geforce-gt-1030-vs-radeon-rx-550/page2.html
tl;dr:
RX 550 only worth it if the particular game you play needs the slightest bit extra power to push your FPS over 60 constantly. Realistically most games would be basically equal with either card.
