  1. Hi, I have an old netbook on which I wanted to install a leightweight OS for some web browsing / html editing / terminal usage. Since most of the default desktop configuratins of Ubuntu or Debian (even lxde) are already too much for that device, I thought about using a terminal Installation of Debian and using some different leightweight desktop and window Managers. Are there some combinations that you can recommend to me? It doesn't need to look fancy or have a bunch of features. Or all in all some Distri. who are well suited for low power Notebooks with good wifi support. Specs: CPU: Pentium M 753 1x 1.2GHz RAM: 512MB HDD: 60GB Display: 1280 x 768
  2. Banned for using a number in your username.
  3. You can fiter specific protocols in a WireShark catch. If you want to see all TCP-ACK packages, you can use "tcp.flags.ack==0". I'd recommend taking a look at their documentation/manual/wiki.
  4. I'm very excited for the new envy x360 series with ryzen. Finally "cheap" notebooks with AMD Ryzen CPUs. (In case I don't know about them.. are there any other cheap AMD Ryzen CPU notebooks?)
  5. It's open source, means everyone can check what exactly they are running on their computers. I also think the privacy aspect is very important. Some might say Windows (especially Windows 10) is spyware. A lot of what you are doing with Windows gets send to Microsoft servers without a lot of options to turn off the telemetry services. Ubuntu is not perfect when it comes to privacy but a big step Forward compared to Windows 10.
  6. No, it doen't get weekly updates. There are big updates every few months. The just (until recently) released a new car/plane/boat/etc. every week.
  7. The Steam Link can do 1080p60. You'd just have to keep your PC turned on.
  8. I'm using plex on my Debian Server (Terminal only) and it runs very well. Also easy to set up. Hit me up if you need any help ^^
  9. After more than two months I was finally able to quit vim and am now able to use and customize my profile on this forum!
